- In this Video I show you the modifications I have done to my gen 3 (2010-2015) Prius. All of the things you see in the video (except for the tint) cost less than $500 to do to the Prius and it transformed the car.

You have the tire on backwards - those are directional tires and the one you showed should go on the other side. Hopefully they mounted 2 in each direction at the tire shop :-D
You saved me from putting the scion wheels on same as the Subaru, I got lucky for 2 months I was looking for Prius 5 wheels and someone just posted a set of the charcoal chrome polished ones for only $230 I paid him $180!

Looks GREAT!! Never thought of Suburu rims.. I own a 4th gen, HAVE 17's but want sportier ones. Just because it's a Prius doesnt mean we can't make our's all unique! Nicely done! One guy commented that they may be directional... It'll have an arrow on the side wall if they ARE.. It DID look like the sidewall tread was pointed the wrong way.

I popped off those hubcaps after one fell off now I have the black rims. Which I don't mind but how to I make them shiny? And maybe put something in the middle part???
Any issues with it cambering? If that happens wouldn't it hit the calipers.

Why the hell does everyone out there want to put big ass rims on small vehicles? I can never figure that out. You can't have any sidewall on your tires when you do that which means you get to feel every bump in the road that much more and to top it off they are much more fragile since there is no sidewall to absorb sudden impacts. Also changing anything that requires lifting a vehicle or adding spacers is just wrecking the rest of the vehicle because it wasn't designed for that.

Because I spend at least 30 hours behind the wheel every single week. AT LEAST. I think given the amount of time I spend driving my vehicle and the fact that I do as much of my own maintenance as possible to keep costs down that I might actually know a thing or two you complete asshat
Can you tell me the size of spacer
I put the same wheels on my 08 prius I also used hubcentric rings along with spacers because the prius hub is 54.1mm and the suburu wheels are 56.1mm.

For less than $500: remove wheel cover, add preferred wheel paint. I never knew those black alloys were the stock wheels hiding under wheel covers. Those covers are there to reduce drag, though......no?
Yes. Open spokes cause more turbulence. I used to have a Civic Hybrid with the smooth face wheels. I never took them off. Heard of people swapping wheels and losing 4mpg.

An even cheaper option would be scion tc wheels. i got a set of tc wheels that had just been powder coated and had new tires for just $300 they look really good and more modern, and don’t require spacers or anything

It shouldn't be noticeable. It's hard to get the exact same miles from each tank. Especially after the lowering kit. This is after all, all about the look of the car, not MPGs
He has no idea (even if he thinks he does). When you change the tires size (diameter, width/height ratio) it throws your speedometer off. "Up-sizing, or installing a taller tire, will lead to a speedometer reading that is slower than your actual speed. This is because a taller tire will have a larger overall circumference, which will cause it to travel more distance per revolution than the original equipment tire."

I didn't put taller tires on a car that I own, but the gearing was changed. As a result, I have found that when the speedometer says 38 mph I am actually doing 45. At about 50, I am doing about 60, and the discrepancy WIDENS as speed increases. In my case, I believe that when the speedometer says 60 that I am doing better than 70....nearly 75 mph.
Many people don't know under the prius hubcap is hiding an "aftermarket " wheel

Joseph todd brought me down about 5mpg but a good portion of that was due to the tires I put on the new wheels.

Everyone has black wheels now-a-days. Not sure why folks want to spend money on new wheels then pick a color that makes them so subdued you cant really see them unless up close.

I love my 2012 prius here in the netherlands. Great car. And also great for this country with expensive gas prices. But if i lived in the states? Why would i drive a prius? Gas is so cheap in the states. In euro’s and liters .: €1,80 for one liter in the netherlands. €0’80cents in america for one liter. So why drive a eco car there?
We drive A LOT. You have to drive everywhere, and we have a lot of traffic. Hybrids will save you money, no doubt.

Especially the part where you jacked up the car 3:55 then the jack was gone in the next frame 3:56 when you were loosening the lugs. Then at 4:03 the jack reappeared. I think that was misleading.

My stock gen 2 prius looks cooler in black and all i did to it was buy a 5euro small antenna and give it a wash. Face it, gen 3 looks like a sick fish and no matter what you d to it it will always look like a sick fish.

doesn't make it cool for less than $500, what a waste of money.. It's a Prius, spend thousands and it will not make it any cooler.. save your money on maintaining the EGR valve and impending HV battery which needs replacement at 150k miles or 10 years.
All Prius OEM wheels are so ugly
