    A good watch for pricing is to take a look at the movie "Pumping Iron". Arnold talks about when he first came to America working as a tile setter and charging low rates thinking he would get more business. Didn't happen. He then decided to be the most expensive "old world tile" man in California. His business skyrocketed. Of course, he was always good at marketing.

    Hey man cool video!! I’ve been meaning to ask what you do for the very bottom of the boat? I don’t know if just don’t t show the clips or if there is a reason you don’t get under the boat sometimes.

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The most we usually do is clean the orange stain off. We charge more for waxing under the boat. Most customers don't wanna pay it and the wax with only last about 2 boat trips in salt water.

    Can you use the Starke Hyper Hold Polymer Sealant as a wax for the last step?

  • @kenturbine110
    @kenturbine110 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Couple more questions. I know you take time to wash off all the waxes and polishes before you put on the jenstar. Could you put the jenstar on and then after that put a wax on top of the jenstar in an area where you are in salt water.
    What are your thoughts on the 3 inch pads for cordless drills? Like you talked about in video until you get bucks to get a flex or rupees mini polisher this will work. That was for marital but I assume no difference between that and cordless drill.

    • @DrakesDetailing

      After your correction steps wash the boat with dawn to strip the oils. After apply the jescer power lock, let that cure for 8 hours and then you can apply a wax on top of that for extra protection. I personally do not like wax. I rather apply starke replenish. It's easier to apply and last longer.

    Hey i been detailing my own boat now and it has a dark blue gelcoat and when i buff it with a heavy cutting pad the pad turns blue. I was wondering if i should maybe go to a medium cut pad or the compound im using

    • @bricesanders5761
      @bricesanders5761 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It is normal for the pad to turn blue on colored hulls, just clean your pad regularly, it won’t come perfectly clean but spin it up with a paint stick in the wool or a spur to get the “gunk” out of the pad 👍🏻

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What Brice said ! 👆👆
      The blue is coming from the gel coat, you are remove a thin layer of gel coat when you buff it, so that’s all that is.

    Hey have a Detailing Business that started off good. But, then all of a sudden work stopped coming. Have great crew that has been trained and we do the jobs fast and with a 5 Star quality. But even after advertising on Yelp and Google and doing Our own flyers that we left on cars. Most of our business came from word of mouth also but all of a sudden business just stopped. Will hit up Rv lots, lakes, ports. So can you show me the basic that you do for boats and ceramics.

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don’t do a lot of contractual work, but yes, typically they mark up the job, so they make their money. It normally doesn’t come directly out of my pocket, but that’s typically why I don’t do contract sub work, because they want me to do it for cheap and then mark it up on top of that for them. I’m just not about that.😎
