    Mannn congrats on everything you’ve been able to do with your new company. I know it’s gotta be hard going from your first company to a whole new entity, especially when moving states. I also gotta say, as much as I appreciate and love the high production and cinematic videos you usually post, these simple day in the life videos are much more relatable and valuable in my opinion. This will be my first full season doing boats with my own company and I’ve religiously been watching your videos for a while now and take notes and store all the information you put out. When it gets tough just remember how much you truly are helping people!

    Hey Drake, awsome video again! I started my own business last year in Québec, Canada, and i’ve learned everything about your Channel! Thanks! I’m wondering why are you no longer using double sided Wool pad? And also, in comments you wrote that you are using orange CCS pad for the waxing process but i saw the HDO orange pad in the video…? Just want to adjust my technique… ;) Thanks again!

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey bro! Typically the CCS pads are for waxing, and the HGO pads are for swore removing. It may have just been what I used that day and what I had. 😎 As far as the double sided wool pads, if I don’t have the spindle extension on me, I just have to use a regular backing plate with a wall pad. I still use both, it’s just depends what, in particular I am doing that day.

    hey drake thank you for all the info and content you put out. a question i had is do you think chop top would be to gritty to polish cars or should i stick with menzurna 400. thanks

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Me personally, it would be a little harsh on clearcoat. Menzerna 400 works wonderful on clearcoated cars.

      Chop top does work nicely on clear coat, just needs a bit more working time to finish down and maybe not as aggressive of a pad. Try with foam first.

    Great job guys! Have you used vinegar to kill the mold instead of bleach? I’ve been told bleach will kill the surface mold but cause it to regrow quicker, but vinegar neutralizes it and prevents.

    What do you think about using a clay bar on fiberglass if you feel like it's pretty badly contaminated but you're just gonna polish some light oxidation. I'm just gonna use an orange pad with menzerna 400

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my personal opinion, it’s unneeded on gelcoat. On a car, the paint and clearcoat is a lot more delicates in the boats gelcoat and needs to be handled with that very fine level of decontamination. On a boat, simply using decreasing agents and doing a good thorough cleaning is enough to decontaminate the surface before seal the surface.

    I only do inside clean ups or full details on docks here. When you do these full details. What are you doing with all that inside water and……? I have a shop so I do most there. My dock jobs are usually just clean ups. Do you leave it for a bilge blast…..

    Hey, man. I just ordered a ton of products using your code from heavy cut to the ceramic coating. Going to do a full detail on a 24ft 2008 Proline center console. Two things:
    1. I am very afraid to do anything with the windshield. It is the fake glass, plastic material and the owners manual essentially says do not put anything other than soap on it. It is not the flexible eisenglass.
    2. I am unsure of what to use on all of the stainless steel pieces (ttop, front railing, steering wheel, etc.) The ttop tubes have a decent amount of pitting in them from not being taken care of by the previous owner.
    Can you please provide any advice? Love and appreciate the videos!

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey bro! Just washed the glass to your best of your ability, then apply a good polymer sealant to them. That’s the safest bet if you were apprehensive and doing anything with the windows. Secondly, as far as any metal goes, just use metal polish to polish, the stainless/aluminum/chrome, and then coded with the same coding that you used on the rest of the boat. Hope this helps! 😎

    My bass boat top gel coat is glossy when looking at it from the front, but standing in the back looking at it, it's dull. It was this way before I wet sanded and polished and still is after. It helped it from the front view but is still dull looking from the back. Has anyone seen this before? If so, is there anything I can do? It drives me insane!

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey bro! You very well have may have not have removed all of the sanding marks before you polished it. Try working backwards and start again with a heavy cut compound with a wool pad on a rotary, then, Polish out with a medium, cut compound, then polish, then see if it looks better. We’ve had it happen before where we skip a step or two in between sanding and finishing and it doesn’t bring the shine that we are trying to achieve.

    If I am just getting started and want to limit the amount of products I buy, could I get away with just using Jescar Powerlock, Shine Supply Sunsetter, and Clutch to polish and protect the interior and exterior, or would I need to also use Shine Supply Burnout for the Exterior? Also, love your content, its super informative!

      Hey! All of that would be fine for an interior, exterior I would expect the stock a little bit more heavy, cut and chop top. Those two are almost necessities here dealing with Choco that has seen any sort of sunlight.

    • @ivoryviking
      @ivoryviking 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Kind of limited info about the question. I agree with D on the chop top and HC. But I would say those are actual priority. Boats IMO are opposite of what car details customers want. Boats want/need outside work more then inside. And honestly. Sunsetter is an only a conditioner in my experience. Has almost zero cleaning ability. There is way more ratios in boats then cars in my experience. Gel goats vary like cars but very differently. Focus on outside pad/product combination is priority. He doesn’t always explain how he adjusted the his pad/product since started using shine supply. But he does in a subtle way. I only see it cause I use the products and have done the same. I have “ learned” how to use wake-up better then when I first used it. These products are on the high side of pricing too. So you gotta really learn the product.

    • @DrakesDetailing
      @DrakesDetailing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a time to use it, and a time not to.
      When you have a beautifully shiny and protected surface, it’s really bad to use. It will tear off your sealant and leave you with no protection against the elements.
      When you are prepping to detail and buff a boat, it’s great to use. It helps remove all the dirt and grime, and old sealants before you start buffing in order to make it easier on yourself.
      Hope this makes sense 😎💯
