    I wanted a little 3d solar system minimap that matches the rotation of the main camera and you have just solved my main problem.

    Really good video helped alot but any idea how one would have two of the same actors display on the UI cause right now it just displays two versions of the same one and its the always the last one spawn

    Hey Aaron, I'd love to learn the full way of doing this. I'm not one to work from project files as I like to know how it's done and follow along. Anyway to do a more indepth tutorial with the UI design too? Looks amazing

    Great tutorial! But I have one question if you make use of pauses, is if also possible to let the animation of the character still run? Even when your game is paused?

    Could you teach how to make it persistent across levels??
    Because kind of pointless having this if you have armors and when switching levels your character doesn't animate no more.

    Any tips on creating an isolated lighting environment for the captured actor? So far, without doing really esoteric multi-world hacks, I've used a separate lighting channel and just disabled a lot of effects in the capture component (which is not ideal since I still want access to those effects, just not the ones globally in the game scene itself)

    Dose anyone know how I can get the overlay target to inherit my characters material because I'm using this for a character customation

    Great tutorial! Have got it mostly working, but having issues getting the background to render transparent. The actor is properly animating, but I am still seeing the sky in the background.
    Worth noting: On the material screen, where you see your character with a black background, I see only the black background.

    • @Beh3D

      I also have this issue, any solutions?

    • @ELau-yn8pw
      @ELau-yn8pw ปีที่แล้ว

      in the 'spawnActor Overlay actor' node, make the x transfer rotation to about 10000000 (ten million), so its outside the Ue skybox parameters

    I wasted so much time trying to do literally same thing but I never been managed to remove the background. I went outside came home removed everything and now it worked

    Any idea why the material gives an error saying the texture node should be set to linear color? The tutorial is several months old so maybe something was changed in the material editor? I'm literally doing exactly the same you did. The texture is rendering a gradient color instead of the mesh color.

      Have this issue as well, any idea how to fix that?

  • @SonicTheCat
    @SonicTheCat 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Cool tutorial, but that grey fringing around the character is pretty bad. That wouldn't be acceptable in a real game. Turning up the resolution makes it less noticeable but you can still see it. Any ideas how to fix that?

  • @r0dybuen0
    @r0dybuen0 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    It works great for me! Though the character gets a small outline, do you know how to get rid of it?

    • @n1lknarf
      @n1lknarf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's because of low resolution. But keep in mind using 4k textures for a widget that updates on tick can be very expensive.

    • @GhullieUser
      @GhullieUser 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can maybe feather the alpha output from the texture in the material editor with a little bit of wizardry

  • @beton6532

    Is it possible to make 3D widget without spawning an actor on the level? I am planning to use that on loading screen so there's not supposed to be a place where you can spawn it. Or is it?

    • @sgneurcuboid
      @sgneurcuboid 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I guess your loading screen could be a level by it self so you could place actor inside it and your loading screen UI (not sure it's the most optimized way tho)

    • @remosloot1280
      @remosloot1280 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@sgneurcuboid this would work yes

    • @dylanroemmele906

      Could record a video instead unless the player interacts with it someway during loading.

    Hi! Im trying to do this in UE5 but I find that the characters appear static when I press play,
    In animation Mode within each skeletal mesh, it have selected, the animation and the blueprint but nothing change.
    If anyone has any idea I would really appreciate it because I didn’t find any more information than this video or similars that are doing the same, thanks for your time developers!

    Is the game paused? Because I tried this and my character was not moving; I am thinking it's because I set game paused.

    how can irotate an actor with 3d widget buttons ( on pressed and on released )

  • @kngparadox
    @kngparadox ปีที่แล้ว

    Everyone does the tutorial on render targets, no one ever does about doing it right lol

  • @yosinciclos5908
    @yosinciclos5908 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    it seems that everything works correctly, but! You do not explain where you get your actor or what he is. A simple static mesh is not because it has animation and a character either because the unreal standard cannot be used. the question is: where to download this actor = "overlayactor" for a complete understanding?
