  • Desperate. Trying too hard. Overdone. That’s the Museum of the Bible.
The museum is the pet project of Steve Green, owner of Hobby Lobby. People go to be impressed, to learn something, and to be pleasantly surprised by a fair-minded presentation. With a few notable exceptions, however, the museum fails to meet even the lowest expectations. Here is our critique of the Museum of the Bible.

    -Knock knock
    --"Who is it?"
-"It's me, Jesus. Let me in."
    --"Why do you want in?"
    -"I want to save you."
    --"Save me from what?"
-"From what I'll do to you if you don't let me in."

“It is full of interest. It has noble poetry in it; and some clever fables; and some blood-drenched history; and some good morals; and a wealth of obscenity; and upwards of a thousand lies.”

It is from the Bible that man has learned cruelty, rapine, and murder; for the belief of a cruel God makes a cruel man.
      Thomas Paine
      Founding father of USA
"In the entire first Christian century Jesus was not mentioned by a single Greek or Roman historian, religion scholar, politician, philosopher or poet. His name never occurs in a single inscription, and it is never found in a single piece of private correspondence. Zero! references."

Bible allow slavery, rape , loot , genocide , terrisom
& it is always against the science and morality .
      Judges 21:10-24
      (New Living Translation)NLT-
"So the assembly sent 12,000 of their best warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children.
“This is what you are to do,” they said. “Completely destroy[a] all the males and every woman who is not a virgin.” Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found 400 young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan."

      Exodus 21:20-21
“Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.
"It would be more consistent that we call [the Bible] the work of a demon than the word of God. It is a history of wickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind."
      Thomas Paine
      Exodus 21:7-11
“If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,[a] he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.(A) 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money.

Chritianity debunked using science & history
As per Bible the creation started in 4004 BC at 9 AM on 23rdOctober. Means creation took place nearly 6000 year ago.
Bible said earth is flat , sun moving around the , But Galileo said that the earth is round and circles the sun , and the church blinded him , so that he can never look into another telescope.
      Also punish copernicus .
In reality by modern science cosmos is 15 billion years old and that the mind and consciousness has to be factored in. Well the advent of quantum physics has proved Bible wrong.
      Undermining of science is evil
When I think of all the harm the Bible has done, I despair of ever writing anything to equal it’

I am an atheist who lives in DC and decided to visit on a whim. If anything I was hopeful that I would have the ability to see authentic historical religious antiquities. Early religious texts, historical art, old bibles…not so much….Nearly everything had the subtext stating that the item on display was a “facsimile” aka an intentionally fabricated reproduction. Imagine going to an art museum where every piece of art was a bootleg….why bother going to a “museum” to look at a bunch of fakes?

The Washington Monument capstone in my humble opinion (pure speculation of course) merely marks the fact that the private society set up to do its funding was saying "Thank God" as even atheists will sometimes exclaim when a difficult task has been at last accomplished. It reflects the tenor of those times, which were far different from the Deistic times of the honoree. In addition, the whole enterprise had a strongly Masonic component as Washington himself was a Freemason.
I have numerous Masons in my family tree, and my Uncle, who rose as high in the order as his Lodge would allow, tried to get me to join. I was not as agnostic/atheistically inclined as I am today but when I asked him whether I was required to believe in the Christian God to be a member, he assured me that belief in the Christian God was not required, though a belief in some form of almighty power was. Essentially Deist at the time, I could rationalize that point of view, though only using mental gymnastics to equivocate the Eastern religions which find the essence of god within all of creation, to the Western viewpoint which separates God from the known Universe. I told him that I did, but still refused to say I would join. That seemed to satisfy him.

My question as a member, and I do have to sign on on Face Book, is: Can you somehow plug into the discussion of Hobby Lobby being archeological thieves? quote: Nearly 4,000 ill-gotten artifacts will be returned to Iraq on Wednesday, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement says. The ancient objects were bought by Hobby Lobby, a national chain of arts and crafts stores, then smuggled into the United States in violation of federal law.
The Oklahoma-based chain of retail stores bought more than 5,500 objects from dealers in the United Arab Emirates and Israel in 2010, said the Department of Justice in a July 2017 document. The purchase was made months after the company was advised by an expert to use caution.end quote. The way that this family stole items was like laundry - ing I do not know the legal terms: circumventing the authorities using dishonest measures. I just keep seeing how hypocritical religions are: liars, thieves, murderers, Jehovah witness and the blood issues has caused deaths. Then catholics with child abuse and suicides. Children of the priests being denied. On and On and On. I think you could fit the acquisitions of these archeological thefts into your discussions. Thank you.

Smuggling stolen antiquities normally results in incarceration. Apparently if it is done by shipping them to Hobby Lobby in crates marked "tile samples" no jail time will occur.

Religion is an insult to human dignity. Without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things.
But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion.

Really nice people I think I’m still a believer and I admit I do feel good most of the time in general overall when I go to Church, however unlike previously, I accept and understand these nice folk now, and respect thier views and beliefs. Life has just turned out to be too much of an unknown mystery, even though, being atheist is just way too bleak for me. These videos are comforting nevertheless and these people are very bright.

    • @nathanmckenzie904
      @nathanmckenzie904 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Its not bleak, it puts a time limit on life and that isn't a bad thing. I know when my life comes to an end that its, no do-overs. I'm not going to see my family or friends again, I'm not going to be able to take back anything mean I have said. It sounds bleak but
Knowing when I see someone that may be the last time I see them I go out of my way to tell them how I feel about them. I live my life because it's the only one we have and it's short.

I just went there today (closeted agnostic). The ride remains the same. Entry is 20-25$ for adults. The ride is 10$ now. They've done some cleaning up of other areas but overall I felt like it was fairly bland with a slant towards trying to slip Christianity into a lot of things.

*The neighbor in “Love thy neighbor,”* referred to male Jews, as Leviticus 19:18 shows
_Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against the sons of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am Yahweh._
People who lived near you were almost always of the same religion, thus the juxtaposition as synonym.
