- NFL Hall of Fame quarterbacks Brett Favre and Steve Young shared stories from their playing days during the Bart Starr Chalk Talk luncheon held Nov. 6, 2017, in Green Bay, Wis.
Green Bay still holds Reggie in awe. Oh, how we miss him.

Phil Simms tells a hilarious story about Reggie just killing him all afternoon one time and every time Reggie was laying on top of Simms he'd say "Phil, you're doing a great job" or "Phil, I really admire your skill" and finally Phil says he lost it when Reggie said "Phil!! Jesus loves you! "

My dad has a huge poster on the wall that is Reggie in a 3 point stance. It says in huge letters “SAY YOUR PRAYERS”. It’s probably our most treasured possession. What a man.
He was the best and this is coming from a Bills fan who watched Bruce throughout his glory years.
I talked to a guy who played the O line when Reggie was with the Eagles. He said after practicing against Reggie all week he was ready for anyone because no one compared to him. He was my all-time favorite, best leader the Packers ever had.

Reggie was the best role model of all time....I was so proud watching him lift the Lombardi trophy in a packers jersey i thought for sure he was going to San Francisco....

What your obviously unaware of is there is a realm above which man’s eye cannot see and ships cannot reach. The thing I love about this video is noches how funny it is but the respect that Steve Young shows and honestly so did the Green Bay Packers team, they said it very well when the 49ers in Packers met u knew something special was going to happen
Reggie clubbing the OL for the Pats like a ragdoll in the SB will always be a memory. Guy was arguably the greatest!
A great memory. Nothing compared to watching him through the Pats lineman around all game. At least in popular sports. I get emotional thinking about how he had that extra gear in him like Michael Jordan. It was sublime.

I live in Green bay and have been a Packer fan since 1951. The day Reggie White became a Packer was a day that we all knew the Packers would be something special. No one wanted to play in Green Bay and Reggie talked some of the very best to come and play for the Packer's. The city of Green Bay and the Packer organization owe Reggie White a great deal of gratitude. RIP Reggie White and thank you.

How they let him out of Philadelphia I’ll never understand.
As fans we were happy to see him leave and win a super bowl. The man meant that much to us.
I understand, believe me I grew up in an Eagle family - but I would NEVER have let out of philly.
Philly was different back then, coaches on all our teams had this "one star on the field at a time and surround him with mediocrity" philosophy, then blame him when it doesn't work (Randal, McNabb, Lindros, Schilling, Barkely, etc.). When Reggie left if I remember right, he was the best thing about our Football team.
It is easy. The Eagles had a crappy owner named Norman Braman. When Reggie played against Brett Favre and saw how good he was. He made his plan to leave Philly and win a Super Bowl with Favre. Because the Eagles could never get it together on offense. Buddy Ryan didnt care about offense and when he got fired they hired Rich Kotite to coach and he was bad. So Reggie left.
Norman Braman. At one point stated it would be nice if the Eagles won a Super Bowl, but that it wasn't all that it was about. This was his attitude about owning a football team!
Tells you all you need to know. Didn't even make a serious effort to counter what Green Bay offered Reggie!! It was a disgrace the lack of respect to Reggie, the whole team, and the fans!

@michael leePossibly, but for all practical purposes at the time Tony Mandarich looked like far n away the greatest O.Line prospect of all time. The entire NFL was on Anabolics & going to have to deal with the newer more High Tech testing system, but I know TM's story, nobody but nobody knew he'd become a Hardcore Syringe to the Main Vain IV Opioid Addict. Even to this day his strength, agility & speed at that size (when healthy) have hardly if ever been matched. He did eventually clean up get back in the NFL and block pretty successfully for a QB there's a chance you may have heard of. If you don't know the story or are just so pissed about the whole (don't blame you) thing you can't believe it.There's a guy named Peyton that'll verify every word.

no doubt "turnstile tony" flopped. unfortunately. wouldve been awesome to have Sanders in our backfield. but theres surely some truth that we dont know the whole story.
I played my whole life & it was sure as hell a lot more motivating when you're playing on a team where everything's clicking like GB was in those days. They'd probably have multiple SB rings as well as much stronger contenders each upcoming year with Sanders,so sticking around certainly would be seem a lot more interesting than on a team like Detroit that really wasn't.

If I were to pick which one of these QBs I would trust most on my franchise, it would be a total heads or tails toss up and I would be happy with either of em.
As a Wisconsin native who is a Bears & Packers fan (I know how is that possible? That's because I grew up as a bandwagon packer fan in the 90s who lived in WI. I am a BEARS FAN since 17 (2003) when I actually started paying attention to football. However I do have 100% respect for the Green Bay Packer organization (not much the fan base)
I also must comment that most Bear fans respect Favre. Hell we even respect the packers because of the organization, but the Bears have always been the underdog with extremely sharp teeth, and even most Packer fans respect that. BEARS & PACKERS are brothers

In that 98 playoff game Rice fumbled on the late go ahead TD drive that catapulted Owens' stardom, & the officials badly missed that call. That's part of why instant replay was brought back the very next season.
Titanbrotha00 the refs really blew that call, for sure! That was the game where the Packers defense stopped Jerry Rice from having any catches until the ref called it complete. The packer probably would’ve made it to the Super Bowl that year. Jerry Rice knows he didn’t catch it.

It is what it is, bit I was livid at the time. It took away another potential Super Bowl appearance. Happens to all teams, eventually.
