Never met that coach and already have more respect for him than I ever had for my high school football coach.

The iron man of football. His consecutive start streak of Something like 20yrs w/o missing a game will never be beat.

That is really what this game is all about to me. Teaching boys to become men of character. Learning the importance of respect, toughness, perseverance and teamwork. If we forget that then we forget the best part of this game. The best part is not just winning.

99.9% of coaches are in it to win games and look important...........................character-building stuff sounds good, but isn't true

Brett Farve is a class act....I was glad to see how such a famous player felt about coaching. It is more about giving kids the chance to gain confidence and pride in themselves than it is about winning a game. To many school coaches today have no clue. At St. S;tanislaus back in 50s we had intermural football between the Fleas and the Flys. I was about 11 yo and I remember the Brothers coaching us for those games. They were tough, but luckily they also understood and practiced what Farve was talking about here. A man of Character.

I want to tell you something about Brett Favre, some of you might have seen it, I remember it was a championship game, and the field goal kicker came out to kick the field goal and he missed, the kick and time ran out, if the kicker would have had a gun he would have shot himself that's how low he must have felt, in my opinion, Brett Favre ran out and hugged him, the compassion Brett Favre showed, brought tears to my eyes Brett Favre is a great human being!!!!!-

You got to love this. Most kids aren't going to play college football let alone NFL. I believe Favre's mom used to teach special needs children and he liked hanging around them also. It means a heck of a lot to me . Thanks Brett Favre

So the coach, had kids from a school, and he wanted to teach the kids and afford them the opportunities to learn and experience new things. The fact that this is unusual is a bit sad. Mad respect to Mr Favre and the coach he obviously holds in such high regard. Love this series of videos too, very down to earth.

Now I love Brett Favre . I hated him every time we played him! Every time he got sacked I wish the worst but that's what happens in football! I Would watch carefully as he got up from a monster sack as he brushed off his pants an have that look! I Would start screaming at the tv yelling No!!! This great qb Mr Favre would go deep for a touchdown! Man u ruined my week! But hey that's football an thanks for the memories. Glad I got to watch u play during my lifetime. Sincerely a 49ers faithful!!

Oak Grove is usually one of the 2 or 3 best teams in South Mississippi. They were State Runner Up to Horn Lake (my alma mater) in 2018. My point is that they run a good system; good for the team and good for the kids.

@@user-nn2fl3cr4p Cool. I have a friend still there, but have only passed through once in 2009, and last visited in 2006. Lived in Hattiesburg and Ocean Springs in 2010, but in Minnesota 1998-2009 and 2011 until now. I went to an couple of Oak Grove games while there and probably haven't been to a Horn Lake game since 1980.

@Jeff B It's all good. Was trying to understand the post. My family is from Hattiesburg, I watched him practice with the Falcons in Suwanee when I lived in Atlanta, I had Brett's nephew in class one day subbing at Pass Christian in 2010, and lived in Minnesota until right before the Saints game, which I watched just a few miles from Brett's house in Hattiesburg. I'm 6 years older than Brett, but, yeah, I've kept up.

I was blessed to live exactly between Milwaukee and Chicago and being a lifelong Packers fan who lives on the wrong side of the border (Illinois) I was doubly blessed to see Favre kick the bears butts in Chicago and Green Bay. Thank you Brett Favre for all the great memories. May peace be with you. ✌

Favre only made $3500 to be an assistant coach of the high school team. Which is probably standard far but usually most other high school assistants also make a salary for being a high school teacher.

How does this teach you what to do when you do not get the job, when you do not get accepted to a program, or laughed at in general? It sucks to not succeed and you need to know that so you don't crumble when it doesn't work out. Better to know you suck and whatever you are doing isn't working than to think otherwise and waste your time. Have you ever had a real job, hahaha
