I’ve owned several Bonanzas over my 54 years of flying! My favorite was and is a E-33…I’ve owned three. Annual is usually around $6000 blah blah blah Fantastic airsheen…tough, fast and when flown LOP…efficient! It will treat you how you treat it!
Nice. This type of maintenance perspective video would be a good series to do for popular types. I don’t know of any other A&P doing that, so that could be a fun niche for this channel. Also, since you like Mooneys, what is your take on their airframe strength, especially compared to a Bonanza? I am curious as someone interested in maybe buying an E or an F Mooney.
Good video. I would consider buying one of these if I thought the local flight school would use it and I could at least break even. I don't think it's the lowest cost per hour complex plane. In your experience, which on is?
What your thoughts on buying a high performance piston with the potential of 100LL going away? Beech has halted production of the Bo and Baron, could this be the reason for falling sales?
I don't think losing 100LL is the end of the world. 130UL is actually really good fuel and already used in much of Europe. I think the reason Beech has halted production comes down to economics. I forget what a new Bo cost, but I seem to remember it being close to a million. Why on earth would I spend close to a mil on a bo when I can get one like the F33A in this video for 220k or even better buy a really crappy one for low 100k and then completely restore it with a luxurious interior and glass panel and it still cost less then 400k
Unfortunately, it's not the cost of the work you are paying for. It's all of the calibrated tools, current manuals, and liability. Believe me, those costs have doubled in the last 4 years.
$100 an hour? Dear lord a auto mechanic charges more... and he won't get sued if there is a accident / crash. You need to be at $175+ an hour to make a living and cover costs.

Great video, thanks! I've owned or co-owned 4 Bonanzas: an E33C, an A36, a V35A TC and now an F33A. Can't say enough good things about them.
Just started an annual on a F33A CE-550.
I've been flying for 40 years. I always liked the Bonanza 33.
Love my Bonanza! ❤

I have over 3000 hours and have flown 25 different airplanes. I would pick a later model 33 as my favorite.

A piper Aerro or a Mooney M20k but I'm not a huge fan of the TSIO-360

Retired Air Force mechanic, no mechanics left (worse in auto/diesel)
I can’t get an annual done on my C-150 for less than $3k. Really makes me wonder if I should keep an airplane.
If you don't mind me asking what area you are in. I only ask because i charge 2,200 for a 150, then AD's and discrepancies are extra.

I agree, costs for annuals are criminal. Have you ever watched one? It can be done in two days for most small single engine planes.

@@brycebuildsitdo you mind me asking what you have to pay for liability insurance?
Mooney all day.
They are simply the best in my humble opinion.
Moneys are great! I absolutely loved mine till I was ready to upgrade to my A36. Can’t go back now.
Only if you're a little person.
