I had them on wiel I did the wire but took them off to film the intro and outro. Good point, though. I'll make sure to mention the importance next video. Especially with safety wire, the diagonal cutters tend to turn it into stainless steel projectiles.
Hey Bryce after nine months of studying I finally received my A&P certification. Thank you for making the videos they really helped me on days when I was down in the dumps. Thank you for everything!
As a pilot and aircraft owner, I really appreciate the aviation content you put out. Having a nephew who’s an A&P helps a lot as well (and he showed the cone/twist technique as well). I second the suggestions about mock oral videos (I’m always interested in learning more), time and life permitting, of course, but if you’re looking for ideas, it’d be nice to see some videos on part 43 basic preventive mx items (tires changes, etc.). As an owner, seeing it done 1st before I do it has always been helpful, and again, it’s been nice to have a family member as an A&P.
This video just encouraged me to study harder. I’ve passed my general and am now studying for powerplant written and was about to start saftey wire training at home. Truly a sign from the man above. Take your time when you need to rest!
If the extra hole is big enough, i would try putting the end of pigtail inside that hole. I have not seen anyone do it like that, but nobody's complaining either. Haha. I had worked in engine shop previously, and I just had so much time in my hand which is why I tried that. Some technicians will end up with 3 pcs of wire when removing them, I do mine same as yours. I always say, safety-wiring is like your signature, better look good!
My inspector told me a great tip as well because I struggled with safety wire so much with loosening and neutral safeties. "think about it as a backwards S", useful in a lot of scenarios but not all the time. Helped me so much.
Hi, Practical video’s would be awesome.. Maybe a thread on tips / tricks that pilots / owners are permitted to do would be great!!! Could help owners get more in tune with their bird. Thank you for your efforts and hard work
There isn't anyone who has worked on an aircraft that hasn't left DNA because the pigtail wasn't tucked away or someone didn't use flush cutters on zip-ties.
No safety glasses?

Anything you can teach from the classroom would be helpful

Bonus tip from an apprenticeship. Don't buy a cheap pair of wire pliers that break after a few weeks of use like I did.😅
Harbor Freight brand wasn't it?
Yes please share content towards the practical and oral for A&P sheet metal etc
Safety wire is fine, if it's required and you have a nice open surface, but I'm so much happier we can use safety cable in most instances
After you pass your test/start using safe-T-cables
Removing the wire that way also lessens the chance of a piece falling into the aircraft where it should not be.

Looks like the length was about one twist too long at the second bolt. 😁
Perhaps... once I pulled it through with the pliers, it tightened up considerably.
