I'm 23, my story with this game is less romantic, just an old pc and zsnes in early 2000s. DKC was hardly the first, but the earliest game I can remember, when I was 3. I've played hundreds of games in my life, but DKC2 is still my favorite game of all time.
Jumping in to tell anyone that reads to play Tropical Freeze on Switch if you haven’t yet! It’s AWESOME and David Wise makes a triumphant return as the composer and as I’m sure you can imagine the soundtrack is SICK
The music and gameplay of Tropical Freeze makes it a worthy successor to DKC 2. Even though I do think Tropical Freeze's flaw make it worse than DKC 2, it's still an incredible game like every other game in the DKC franchise.
Forest Interlude may just be one of the best video game songs I've ever heard and I haven't even played this game but this music tells me I should. It's so beautiful!
I played this game back in 1996-1997....I would never imagine that I would be nostalgic about it 26 years afterwards. Gaming back then was extremely fun and fulfilling. Developers really knew the essence of what makes a great game....
I was 7 years old when I first played this game with my brother. We reached the final chapter of this game while staying at my second aunt's house during summer vacation. Sometimes, when I listen to this soundtrack, the weather and smells of that time come to mind.
Stickerbrush Symphony is giving me the chills man... I got it for wii u and maybe i will play the game trough some time, although i can't enjoy the music when I'm stressing the f** out
best ones are (in no particular order) - Mining Melancholy - Stickerbush Symphony - Hot Head Bop - In a Snow-Bound Land - Forest Interlude - Bayou Boogie - Jib Jig
GOAT of game soundtracks right here. Driving down a country back road on the cusp of fall listening to Forest interlude and the others at the time is a great experience. StickerBrush Symphony is still my favorite.
I still think 1:02:12 is some of the best credits music in a video game I've ever heard. After playing the entire game from start to finish it has a sense of victory and conclusion to it. Very well done and by far one of the most memorable tracks from the game.
I love the pounding drums, it's the sounds the Kongs would make stomping and slamming. Symbolic of their freedom. This whole soundtrack is immersed in the universe of the game. I love the use of sounds and instruments that you would find in the world itself. My favorite track is Klomp Romp for this reason
Man, that ending music was EPIC. I remember really liking the ending music from DK1 and looked forward to the credit music on DK2 and remember not being disappointed!
This is one of my favorite Video Game Soundtracks ever! I played Donkey Kong Land 2 first as a kid which has the same tracks almost, but some are missing. I checked out the Donkey Kong Country 2 Soundtrack and it is so good! My favorites in no particular order are Bayou Boogie, Mining Melancholy, Flight of the Zingers, Hot Head Hop, Forest Interlude, Stickerbush Symphony, In A Snow Bound Land, Snakey Chantey, Klubba's Reveille, and Funkey The Main Monkey.
This OST and other countless ones are my safe space. They bring me back to a time of joy and excitement, with no worries. Luls me back to a calm when I need it.
I still think Cranky Kong will come after us in the future, when we are playing unreal engine 5 games, totally forgotten the skill and finesse needed for games like dkc2. Its like heaving an answering machine over a smartphone and use the slowtime to enjoy your dkc2 while wifi is not even there

The music and gameplay of Tropical Freeze makes it a worthy successor to DKC 2. Even though I do think Tropical Freeze's flaw make it worse than DKC 2, it's still an incredible game like every other game in the DKC franchise.
DKC games have some of THE best video game music of all time
THANKS DAVID WISE!!!!
36:40 I still can't believe the SNES was capable of music this beautiful
Forest Interlude may just be one of the best video game songs I've ever heard and I haven't even played this game but this music tells me I should. It's so beautiful!
whole vibe
You can play it online on a emulator for free. Best game ever
@@scoobydoo529 yeah I did a bit after writing this comment, truly a masterpiece of platformers. Same applies for the first Country game.
I played this game back in 1996-1997....I would never imagine that I would be nostalgic about it 26 years afterwards.
Gaming back then was extremely fun and fulfilling. Developers really knew the essence of what makes a great game....
Just listened to the DKC1 OST before this… Crazy how much DKC2 improved on an already strong soundtrack. Legendary game.
I was 7 years old when I first played this game with my brother. We reached the final chapter of this game while staying at my second aunt's house during summer vacation. Sometimes, when I listen to this soundtrack, the weather and smells of that time come to mind.
Absolute masterpiece
A Top 3 Gaming Soundtracks of all time for sure
Top 3 Video games of all time for me
You know a game is good when even the soundtrack is epic.
I'm 34 and listening to it cause it brings childhood memories
Stickerbrush Symphony is giving me the chills man...
I got it for wii u and maybe i will play the game trough some time, although i can't enjoy the music when I'm stressing the f** out
yes gret song
best ones are (in no particular order)
- Mining Melancholy
- Stickerbush Symphony
- Hot Head Bop
- In a Snow-Bound Land
- Forest Interlude
- Bayou Boogie
- Jib Jig
This is my jam right here 12:47. When that section of Hot-Head Bop comes in, it's perfect.
Love that part too
GOAT of game soundtracks right here. Driving down a country back road on the cusp of fall listening to Forest interlude and the others at the time is a great experience. StickerBrush Symphony is still my favorite.
Stickerbrush Symphony
Forest interlude
And in a snow bound land were always my favorite
I still think 1:02:12 is some of the best credits music in a video game I've ever heard. After playing the entire game from start to finish it has a sense of victory and conclusion to it. Very well done and by far one of the most memorable tracks from the game.
Always gets my skin crawling, in a good way. Especially when it hits those highs.
I remember really liking the ending music from DK1 and looked forward to the credit music on DK2 and remember not being disappointed!
david wise = legend.
this is one of the best OSTs of all time!
Lockjaw saga, Mining Melancholy, stickerbrush symphony and forest interlude are absolutely amazing!
The sound of wind and water made the ship levels really immersive
The soundtrack of a simpler time. A better time.
That Hot Head Hop is my shiii
I was listening to the vid in the background, and came to check what the track was. Hot Head Hop is indeed a jam
Seeing you hear is a pleasant surprise :)
I never really loved it tbh
Minha também ❤❤❤
Man I forgot about that one!!
Ah Yes, one of the best game songs and at the same time one of the most commonly mispelled song: Stickerbush Symphony.
Mining Melancholy continues to hit different
This OST and other countless ones are my safe space. They bring me back to a time of joy and excitement, with no worries. Luls me back to a calm when I need it.
24 years here, and i still use DK songs to study or just relax. C'mon, this is sooo nostalgic!
I still think Cranky Kong will come after us in the future, when we are playing unreal engine 5 games, totally forgotten the skill and finesse needed for games like dkc2. Its like heaving an answering machine over a smartphone and use the slowtime to enjoy your dkc2 while wifi is not even there
SNES is the home to most of my favorite OSTs!
