I feel deep, stomach turning sorrow for those who never saw this and never will, R4TM changed my life, my future, my very path in life. If only I could have seen this sooner, if only my 4 year old self was shown this the day it spawned. R4TN is quite possibly the greatest achievement in human history, a notch on the historical tablet of time. This tour de force of a video stands the test of time, from now on rocky 4 the musical is time, I will only use BR4TM/AR4TM tell the date now. I grew up with Rocky IV and knew every single line in it. You definitely have to know that movie inside and out first to grasp how amazing this piece is. I thoroughly love Jon and Al's work. I have made dozens of coworkers, family members, and church members laugh because they effectively taught me how to sing like Arnold. Their ability to extract impressions and apply them with pitch, melody, rhythm, and timbre is unbelievable. This was also well before the time of realistic voice modulation software--these impersonations are the real thing. I wish I could meet Jon and Al in real life and treat them to a coffee. I'm curious about their backgrounds too (Westminster Choir College? Peabody? Juliard?).

I love this so much, I can't help but keep coming back. It captures the essence of the film so well. Silliness, ridiculous camp, and over the top bravado and machismo surrounding a dramatic core about guilt, revenge, and determination. The constant build of the music as Rocky looks past his doubt and regret and becomes a force of pure resolve. "Drago, yo, you killed Apollo!" becoming an anchor for his will as he achieves the unbelievable by standing up to the seemingly invincible Russian. Just like the original movie, the theme of being able to change, and needing to change, comes out of nowhere without being sufficiently set up and seems completely bizarre until you really think back through the film.
What a masterpiece.
I love the drums when Adrian starts singing. It reminds me of the music from the end of Rocky 1 when she runs up to him after the fight is over.
