I can hardly wait. What else am I going to watch? Hei Mauler, do you know what She-Hulk told the Hulk? "Women don't exist to be nice on the eyes for you! And this is my closing argument!"
The mind-reading loophole pisses me off more than any other because it’s such an integral part of Xavier’s powers. Imagine Aquaman being threatened with drowning.
That's also EXACTLY why Black Bolt's death is completely idiotic as well. He's IMMUNE TO THAT ENERGY. HELL he literally CHANNELS IT TO FLY AND INCREASE HIS STRENGTH. And on top of that LIFETIME OF VOCAL TRAINING, he can just USE THE TUNING FORK ON HIS HEAD. This is just egregiously disrespectful to so many characters.
I will never get over the fact Vision gets completely forgotten in this. The entire point of WandaVision was Wanda lost Vision and this is the life she wanted them to have. The children were a byproduct of that. They were never the entire point and she knew they weren't real even though both of them loved them dearly. The fact that there isn't a scene where Paul Bettany walks into the house she's terrorizing and Wanda has the realization that "I completely forgot about my husband, the ENTIRE reason I did all of this in the first place" is poor writing at best and character erasure at worst.
It wouldn't have saved the movie but DAMN a scene like that would've done wonders for the climax. Hell why not have that universe's Vision be the one to stop her???? Ughghg, stupid movie
Not to mention where the fuck was her brother Pietro?!?! This would have been the perfect movie to bring him from another universe. I've been dying to see him again but they've completely forgotten about him
Never mind alternate dimensions, what happened to Vision the White? The rebuilt body that hex-Vision download his life's memories to, making it functionally Vision? That was a huge hole in WandaVision, much less this sequel.
@@Dave0G honestly idk who thought Sam Raimi was a good director for this movie. He can only do camp horror and most of it is so cringey. Him and the writer completely ruined this movie
The idea that RED is go, and GREEN is stop, could be interesting if fire burned green and the plant life was predominantly red. That would thus indicate the proper flip of the color associations that lead us to having Green > Go, Red > Stop. Or, who cares and we clearly see green plants all over and they clearly didn't care enough
Blackbolt's mouth was facing Wanda when he squealed and since you could hear it it means she would die, so Reeds plan was actually genius the problem is his universe had just not yet experienced plot armor so there was no way he could account for it
Truly the world's smartest man. He knew he'd have to sacrifice his friend and that it was the only way and after seeing the plot armour Wanda has you can see the exact moment he calculated 1000 different ways he could win and the one that was the most likely to work was physically using his stretching ability to grab her plot armour and wear it himself. The writing is just incredible here because as this is all happening Captain Carter and Captain Marvel stood in idle animation because they weren't smart enough to comprehend what to do, really showcases how smart Reed was.
What the hell kind of stupid super power is that anyway? Why is a guy who can't speak in a small group who discuss things? Do they all know sign language, or is he just a really good listener?
@@NotQuiteFirst All of them know sign lenguge. And about his powers, the movie just forgot the fact that his voice is a last resort thing and that he can do more than that
The thing that really bugged me is Strange will do a mindwipe on the entire planet to fix Peter's mistake, but he won't sit down with Wanda for 10 minutes to look at options to bring the fictional kids into being for real. He and Wanda could just do that, no harm no foul.
Strange and Wanda exemplify the Game of Thrones lesson - that dumb writers can't write smart characters. GRRM's Tyrion was the smartest character in Game of Thrones - whose strategy - that his father dismissed as 'low cunning' won the Battle of Black Water. Once they 'ran out of book' writers Dan and Dave were left to give Tryion the following tasks.... Develop a plan to capture a Zombie and bring him into the city - to your sister the queen who wants you dead. To get her to see that Zombies are real and then...she will help you. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Of course this bonehead move leads directly to their Dragon being killed, the Zombie king gets a Zombie Dragon and then he burns down the great wall and all the Zombies come pouring thru. All because of Tyrion's (really) D&D's mindbogglingly stupid idea. Later when the Zombies are attacking one of the last cities, and all the dead are being resurrected, his plan is to hide everyone - in the crypts (!) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Likewise Dr. Strange in No Way Home and Multiverse of Madness is like the biggest fool who ever did a magic trick. Not only should he never be Sorcerer Supreme - he should not be allowed to do balloon shows for kids, as someone would end up choking on a balloon, or bleeding out from a paper cut.
_the Wanda for 10 minutes to look at options to bring the fictional kids into being for real._ The film is far too stupid to investigate the interesting philosophical question of what is real and not. If you actually recalled Wanda Vision - which the writers and directors *do not* Wanda's kids are *born* of her womb, and a produce of her love with Vision. Wanda alters reality with her will - as well as 'eggs and sperm' the way normal humans do. So the question of whether her kids are *real* or not is philosophical, not yes or no. The fact is her love for them was certainly real - but she also decided to let them go. This is powerful and difficult choice for a being whose will can alter reality. You will still and always have to let the ones you love go and they will have to let you go. _A thing isn't only beautiful because it lasts._ _What is grief if not love persevering._ This is incredible *raw material* for Raimi and Waldron to work with. But it's like throwing pearls to swine as they dispose of it as absolute morons would and we end up with Shaggy and Scooby and Velma goofing their way thru a cluster fest bad CG and dialogue with massive plot holes.
The fact that all 5 super heroes that make up “The Illuminati” all stand there and take turns watching Wanda kill their close friends is probably one of the most idiotic scenes I’ve ever seen.
They make the really stupid victims in slasher films look like genius's. They should have had Wanda hex half of them, making them fight themselves while Wanda picks them off one by one. Then again maybe in their universe the average IQ is 30 and Mr. Fantastic's genius level intellect would be 70.
Crazy how a fast mf like Captain Marvel just stood and watch the slow ass spaghetti-fication of Reed Richards. Like bruh, halfway the attack, she had the time to save him at least by attacking Wanda as she’s shown to be easily distracted or can’t take on multiple targets as she’ll break the spell.
I'm partial to "your restriction of the Long is *offensive."* From the way the contemptuous sneer behind that statement can just be _heard,_ one feels the lurking menace of the sheer, unbridled power of the Long.
So, wait. The writers use the moral ambiguity defense on Wanda's murderous, premeditated actions because...well, she's grieving so it's "relatable." But when any of the Dr. Stranges do something morally ambiguous (or break some arbitrary rule set long ago) for the sake of trying to save multiple realities - often requiring a split second decision with attacks bombarding them - it's treated like they are reprehensible for even considering it.
That is the actual plot arc not that nonsense about "releasing the knife". They cannot just have the woman be the villain, because it must be balanced out with the male hero also being called the villain as well. And certainly she cannot be forced to account for her crimes because 'patriarchy'.
Wanda's grief is also portrayed as a tragedy while Thor's grief gets played for cheap laughs. Between this and that god awful scene from She-Hulk, Marvel has been really insistent on hammering in "The Message".
Yep. She has the self-realisation of a wet sock for almost the entire runtime, and I still am unconvinced she actually died given we didn't see a body.
Well, Chthon is the monster hidden inside of her. His symbol is above Wanda's statue and he says he "forged" her. Wanda's story is authored by Chthon, from birth. That's the whole point of chaos magic, it's Chthon's power. Or should I say "Shuthon", as Wong stupidly mispronounces the name of Marvel's most important mystical villain.
“There comes a time in all forms of media consumption as to where you are so utterly bewildered by an event taking place and there are so many things wrong with it, that you don’t have words and you simply laugh.” -The Longman
This is one of my favorite quotes as it strikes close to my heart. When I was watching Star Wars 9 on a sequel marathon for the first (and last) time, I bursted out laughing when Rey shot lightning from her fingertips as culmination of the desert scene
2:55:40 my headcanon for this is simply that while Dr Strange tells Sinister Strange about how his sister died, he just stands there, thinking: “this makes no sense, i had a brother, Gerry, he didnt die, just lives in Florida, where the universe-shredding hadnt reach yet. He really must be from another timeline, who would come up with this nonsense”
Not sure if brakelights are red because of the 'stop' association, but because red is non-blinding (good at night) and widely visible. Not meant as a defence for the film. Just a BTW.
Thor literally lost everyone he loved, plus his entire nation that he swore to protect, failing his family, people and himself, and Marvel fucking shat all over that. Wanda goes insane over an android and a pair of imaginary kids. She didn't even mention her parents and brother, the REAL people she had lost. What the fuck?
Wong dying to protect the darkhold, and strange killing america by sucking her powers would be a great set-up for a traumatised and sad strange in his next movie to tackle.
Remember when "Sorcerer Supreme" was an actual title awarded to only the most powerful sorcerer who mastered the mystic art to the extent that they are granted authority over all 3 Sanctum Sanctorum holding back a literal interdimensional conqueror that is powerful enough to swallow up worlds and assimilate them into his domain, a realm where time does not exist? A master of an entire faction of powerful mages, keeper of relics capable of injuring and pushing back demons and beings with backing from the aforementioned interdimensional mafia ?and not a participation cup awarded to whoever is free every Friday to stay behind and sweep the floor? we got 3 Supremes and none of them displayed anything even moderately professional, wise or proficient in their position.
My worst Sorcerer Supreme moment is in No Way Home, where Wong literally goes on vacation [so the film can happen]. I mean you can see the writers room- where they just said, yeah, we know, but fuk it. Look at the kind of knuckleheads we are targeting this at!?
I think the Ancient one and Strange were good representations of powerful sorcerers who are dedicated to the duty. But Wong... mfr been goofy since day one, every movie I see him in I hope he dies so Strange can become sorcerer supreme again.
I think that the writers confuse the leader of the sanctums with the sorcerer supreme. The leader is as the name states a leader of the sanctums while the sorcerer supreme is a being so knowledgeable in terms of the mystic arts that they are incomparably stronger than any other mage. The sorcerer supreme doesn't even have to be the leader, so they could have Wong be the leader of the sanctums while making strange the ultimate defender of earth simply because Strange isn't known for his economics/managment skills.
@@FittedSheet2000he was very serious in the first doctor strange if the writers were smart they would've kept Wong very smart and capable. instead he's dumb and the universe bends to keep him alive
It is so weird that the sorcerers in this movie barely seem combo any abilities together at all compared to the first Doctor Strange movie and Infinity War. For example teleportation is one of the best powers for combos. They seriously underuse it.
The most impressive thing about this video is MauLer’s ability to consistently come up with a new, absurdly hilarious alternative name to ‘Benedict Cumberbatch’ for nearly 6 hours straight.
*Benedict Cumberbatch* tried to warn us: _“Yeah. Well… yeah that’s part of the problem,” Cumberbatch replied. “There’s a lot of stuff going on in it. It’s like, do I have a character arc in this? Is it working?”_ He knew.
To quote the great Charles dance. "As an actor you have to expend a lot of time trying to make a silk purse from a pigs ear. Improve bad writing." I 100% believe that Boomerang Camelpatch tried to do that as hard as he could in this movie, but to no avail.
Red means go, and Green means stop. I hate that they didn't follow through on this outside the traffic lights gag. Imagine if all the security camera warnings or fire extinguishers were green. Or even go the extra mile and make it so people's blood in this universe is green, giving a good reason why people see green as bad and red as a more positive colour.
The main reason why humans in our world think of red is bad isnt because blood is red^^. Its because in nature, a lot of plants and animals use red as a warning that they are poisionous, in order to prevent them getting eaten. This is so fundamental that in experiments with monkey, a lot of them wont eat newly introduced - and therefore not recognized - red berries, unless they have external reasons to do so (for example, if they are given the berries by the same people that usually only gives them food, that can influence them. But if they just "find" berries in their habitat which they never saw before, they often wont eat them if they are bright red)
@@random.3665Just going off of the information in your comment, all that's been established is that monkey's don't trust red berries. It's the chicken and the egg. Did berries become red in response to animals preexisting fear of the color red, or did animals come to fear red because of the berries being red?
That scene with the guy explaining how great that dude is at using his voice as a weapon... that's straight up Suicide Squad level writing. "This is Katana. Her sword eats your soul. She can kill you..." "The man who can climb everything" hot damn.
If Strange has a spell that forces someone to attack themselves for a prolonged period without Strange having to even be in the same universe as them, why doesn't he do that to Wanda?
@@hideofreakingkojima5457lol. This film is just completely amateur hour as they do not ever think about the danger of just giving Strange magic as a prank, or a way out of a jam, and then addressing the - *then how come he didn’t do that earlier.* They really just want to not have to think about it, and they want the audience to also not think about it. Big fan, Shad. It's always nice to see one of my favorite TH-camrs featured in one of my other favorite TH-camrs' videos. For a second, I wondered if I'd put one of your videos on by accident.
But Mauler, it all makes perfect sense. Every time there is a writer's incursion into the MCU, there is a chance of entire films being destroyed. The writers inadvertently wrote themselves into the story.
@@diegogonzalez5273 the equivalent of your analogy would be america having beaten scarlet witches unconsciously before. No. Its more like if the teenage girl have been unconsciously cutting tenderloins all over the place, then having the surgeon giving her a scalpel to perform heart surgery.
There's one thing I can think of that would fix a lot of the problems here: Why does the villain have to specifically be MCU Wanda? If they really wanted to show off the Scarlet Witch's power, make the villain an alternate version of Wanda, one that didn't regret her actions in WandaVision. They set up Dream walking, make it so MCU Wanda's being controlled by that alternate Wanda, or maybe even have her use a one-way portal into this universe? It wouldn't fix everything, not by a long shot, but it would fix Wanda's character assassination.
I have a similar idea: why does the main villain need to be Wanda at all? I don't remember his name, but in the comics there is an ancient dark god who is reponsible for creating the Darkhold. he could have promised to give Wanda the family she wants-a REAL family, not mere projections-if she hunted down Chavez on his behalf and used her powers to free him.
@@summertyme5748 you’re kidding, right? She was an absolute monster there too, as she had zero problem with enslaving and torturing thousands of people.
this would also mean that after Wanda is dead, Captain Marvel is unable to speak more. In other words, 10/10 script change, you fixed stuff you didn't even have to
I watched the movie. It was 2.5 hours but felt like 10. I watched Mauler's video. It was 6 hours but felt like 1. The entertainment values cannot be compared. I'm rewatching this video for the second time now!
The thing that astonishes me about Reed choosing to stretch tickle Wanda, is not only that he is supposed to be able to stretch at insanely fast speeds, not only that he could have, while being spaghetti-fied, stretch punch her faster than she can blink (because she starts at his legs, leaving his arms free for several moments), not only that he doesn't call out to Carter or Blank a battle plan or at least to help him. But what _does_ astonish me, is that they already established, in his introduction scene, that he has a method of *teleporting out of danger* . Or even, with some quick "smartest man in the world" tinkering, make it teleport *her* away. Preferably into space, a volcano, the deepest part of the ocean, etc. He essentially has a technology based Sling Ring and _he doesn't even reach for it while he's being turned into shredded mozzarella_ . I'm glad the Fantastic Four hasn't been in the MCU until now because I knew this shit would happen to them. I always knew it. Never have I been more displeased to be proven right. _Thanks Phase 4 :|_
I'd have expected him to confront her alone, if he's going to try the "talk her down" gambit--and then as soon as she says "Your children will have someone to raise them," Black Bolt deletes her from concealment. The problem is, this probably occurred to the writers, and instead of getting creative or even adjusting their core idea, they just made the heroes as dumb as possible and hoped the audience wouldn't notice. Their target audience probably didn't notice, or pretended not to.
@@ChallengeIdeas Yeah, he definitely should have/would have confronted her alone if he wanted to try to talk no jutsu her XD And Black Bolt should have/would have immediately said "Not today" from offscreen and blasted her back a thousand yards while her skin ripped from her bones or something. He wouldn't have given Reed the opportunity to say anything, let alone how his powers work.
Them trying to talk her down makes no sense at all It's like if a military base is under attack by a helicopter like shooting missiles and machine guns and they try to talk him out of it And the argument that they don't want to kill innocent people doesn't hold water because they are more than willing to kill strange
@@predatorasap5040 Agreed. 100% agreed. Trying to talk down someone who has already committed to the actions Wanda took before the Illuminati faced her down is preposterous. They should have already been in kill mode when they left the Illuminati room/chamber/court(?)/whatever. Not only does it not hold water because they have already killed their Doctor Strange, not only because they are more than willing to kill our Doctor Strange for minority report BS reasons, but because _Wanda in no way qualifies as "innocent"_ . Because of all of the people she's killed and destruction she's caused in their universe alone, how brutally she kills these people (and robots), and how little remorse she has for committing these crimes. She is the furthest thing from innocent and if they are already minority report-esque people, then she would be instantly slotted for annihilation by this Illuminati. But instead, we got... _what we got. And all the pain that comes with it..._ :|
Not only that, but if Reed was even a fraction as smart as he's boasted to be, he'd have used the spaghetti-fication of his limbs as an advantage to use those spaghetti limbs as a mass of tentacles that could bind and interrupt Wanda. Show some of that heroic pain tolerance by doing a move that's immensely painful but necessary to protect those he cares about. You know...the kind of move that any hero, not even super, does in most stories.
They know all about Wanda - she knows nothing about them. But she outsmarts them because the writer does his one trick which is make everyone extremely stupid. _Hey I'm the smartest man in the world - let me tell you about Black Bolts powers. Oops he dead now, let me charge right at you by myself without teamwork or any kind of plan (to do what?). Oops I'm dead now._ - Reed Richards. _That was funny let me smile now at the chance to also die a horrifying death, ready, ok here a I come, oops now i'm dead._ - Captain Marvel. _I can do this all...nope, dead._ - Peggy Carter. _OK I've been standing by waiting for a chance to use Omega level mutant ability to freeze your mind - esp since you don't know I have this powers, this isn't even a contest. I mean I could fly or just grab her out of thin air and levitate her right to me. Super easy, barely an inconve....nope. 2 more hours of film to go. I'll just keep staring at green screen and hoping for the waves of stupidity to cease._ - Wanda
I'd pay top dollar for a movie where *Doctor Strange* re-evaluates his goals and instead of going after Wanda , just starts universe-hopping and removing the *Illuminati* wherever he finds them. Clearly they are a bigger threat than the *Scarlet Witch*.
Walking out of the theater, the thing that stuck in my mind was just how…empty the “combat” is with both Wanda and Strange. Their abilities are undefined and inconsistent, so there’s never any *stakes* to it. Hulk is big and strong, Iron Man has a mechanical suit, Cap has a bouncy shield, Thor has a flying hammer and lightning; Wanda and Strange have ‘magic’. What kind of magic? All kinds! But never the same one twice, because we want to show off as many cool visuals as we can! To think of putting the two of them against each other makes me believe that the writers are the type to find preteen-level make-believe contests to be enthralling.
I would also like to add that I was underwhelmed when Strange interacted with Third-Eye Strange. I was expecting some banter, getting annoyed with himself, like when Cap fought his past self. It was way more fun when he insulted Stark in Infinity War and how they were constantly trying to one-up each other. I get that he was used to seeing many different versions of himself, but I doubt he had ever interacted with one of them. Just something seemingly small, but his character feels pretty watered down by this point.
Plus the avengers' abilities and/or powers aren't just "strong cool visuals" they either come at a cost (hulk having two personalities and Iron Man suits being expensive, requiring care to be used), requires effort and skill(cap being able to aim, throw and catch his shield) or has to be earned(mjolmer choosing who is worthy) to be utilized properly. Wanda and strange's magic could might as well thanos everything with no cost, strategy, effort or risk being used.
The demon cat head really feels like straight out of Rick and Morty. Completely random, bizarre and grotesque. The movie as a whole has this attitude. Rick and Morty gets away with it since that's a show about subversion and loss of all meaning. But try to sap meaning out of other franchises, and you destroy them.
First Doctor Strange movie did it so much better by keeping the magic limited, so it focused a lot more on Doctor Strange and how he could out-think his opponent, which fed back into him out-thinking Doramu.
@@rascoehunter3608problem is the "writers" don't know the first thing about writing magic...it needs a system that makes sense and has defined limits and costs....otherwise its just deus ex fucking machina but worse...because why would you not spam a spell that worked.
@@chrismennell1606 exactly. One of the ways to fix it is to have the massive damage AOE moves take more time to build up or make it require more energy. Like in Naruto Shippuden pre war arc he could only use the Rasen Shuriken attack twice per battle because it takes a lot of energy to use.
"I'm not a Monster, I'm a Mother" *Proceeds to turn Reed Richards into String Cheese, Chop Captain Carter in half, and Drop a statue on Captain Marvel...* Actually that last kill was fine, I laughed at that one.
Every single mage in this movie acts like that one D&D player who never reads their spells and could've ended the fight without losing party members every damn time they play
Literally the only way Strange’s spells make any sense is if he’s losing spell slots every time he casts one. Oh you cast Tasha’s Giant Cat Head? That’s you’re last 7th level, guess you only have anything below that now!
Morbius is “Mom, I shit the bed” bad Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is “Mom, I accidentally deleted my best friend while playing Laser Tag” bad
I think they intended for America's power to uniquely allow you to enter another universe without risking incursion. This would explain why Wanda wanted to take America's power instead of just permanently dream walking into a version of herself that had the kids. The problem is, they never communicated that to the audience, so it becomes something we have to assume in order for Wanda's motivation to make even the tiniest bit of sense.
Bioshock Infinite did the whole multiverse thing way better. Stepping into realities that aren't your own cause severe cognitive dissonance (appearing as a nosebleed) as your brain scrambles to adjust to the new reality. The mind tries to make memories where there are none or in some cases, memories/events get scrambled around to form a new story. It may take a while for the person to remember why he/she is even in a new reality. And if this happens when you are in close proximity to your multiverse double, the effect is much stronger and you risk dying. It's weird how Marvel doesn't even consider the consequences of a person moving from multiverse to multiverse when plot armour is involved. I guess America can just universe hop whenever she wants with no ill effects. Edit: why not make it so that anytime she potentially portals to a new dimension that risks causing an incursion in the new universe? They talk about it but it never seems to happen when she does it.
At 1:14:28, where America says food is free in most universes, it makes sense to me because she just steals it in whatever universe she's in, rationalizing it as being free in those universes, because she's just a kid.
Or...the writer just literally decided to imagine a multiverse where stuff is free everywhere else but here. Just like Wanda has kids everywhere else - but here. Which somehow makes sense.......everywhere else. lol. But def. not here.
Except when she gets caught she is surprised that food isn't actually free in this universe. If you are implying she always stole without ever being caught or noticed and without ever being directly told that food is free... You're being silly. Watch the movie instead of making up your own to defend it.
Wong: "Why cant you just ask America to bring you there?" Wanda: "What if my kids get sick?" Wong: "We have a magic book that can defeat any foe, im pretty sure it would work for the space flu."
When your plot holes are so great that you need a McGuffin that can 'do anything' which only means that the whole story never needed to happen. lol. Someone doesn't know how to write.
What if my kids get sick might be the dumbest handwave of a plot hole in the whole movie. You literally have a million options to scientifically, magically or miraculously heal your kids that would be way simpler than all the conflict you're going through as the villain in this movie!
I feel like im not seeing enough comments about this, but from someone who understands what it takes to not only script a video but to voice it too. How the ever living F**k did you do this, I hate to think how long this took you and how much it cost in editing. Phenomenal commitment.
Im very well aware of the amounts of work Mauler and other creators like himself must go through in order to make something this detailed, extensive, and so well edited, and as you, i believe it should be better appreciated.
I have thought this too. Ye Gods, virtually every sentence has a clip to line up with it.... FOR ^ HOURS. literally crazy. Wonderful, but crazy. In a good way.
I love how Amerika's mothers are always referred to as "parents" because it's easy to cut out that one scene with them and then have the movie released in countries like China.
Lol. They are so important to her, until she gains the power to find them - because *it was always within* her, and then….she forgets about them at the end of the film, and is happily training with Wong. MCU now has such bad writing where everyone also seems to be taking direction from Disney’s agenda, and no one does anything an actual person in that situation would do.
@@summertyme5748 And all they had to do at the end is show her parents in a diffenrent cut and in the background so they can cover it up for China and still be consistent.

Not much makes me REALLY laugh, but man that bit about "you are strapped to an alter about to be sacrificed so the goddess of narcissism can retrieve her Pokemon save file" was comedy platinum.
"Blackbolt can destroy you with one whisper from his mouth." is the dumbest line ever. Where else does a whisper come from? Why tell her his power? Whyyyyy
Just saying whisper would be enough, it's like saying superman can kill people with a sneeze, his powers aren't sneeze related but he still would be able to do it, it makes it clear that he's powerful while leaving enough room for her to get it wrong, including the mouth part makes it clear that his power is related to his mouth or voice, however, just mentioning that he's powerful is stupid, it makes him the priority target so even without the mouth bit he would still be killed first.
Also, Black Bolt can't "aim" his sonic powers. Sure, he can kill Wanda with a whisper. Along with everyone else in the room, in the building, and for a quarter-mile in all directions.
@@kron7536 That first bit does raise a question on how the fuck Blackbolt even lives when a noise from his mouth reduces everything in front of him to atoms. How does this man sneeze without causing a kill count, or obliterating a building on top of him? Does he ever yawn? If he catches a cold, is whatever city he's in basically just wiped off the map with a coughing fit?
You know what I've noticed? The erratic tone could easily be attributed to one thing. The success of Guardians of the Galaxy. It's focus on primarily comedy caused the rest of the MCU to become more and more focused on comedy rather than the serious tone that made people like the MCU in the first place. The only issue is that most people trying to replicate what made Guardians succeed forgot that there are genuinely dark, serious moments in Guardians alongside the comedy that balance it out while retaining the overall tone.
That, and the warm reception of Thor: Ragnarok. MCU fans demonstrated an allergy to a high-toned setup and scale with timeless themes ("Doth Mother knoweth you weareth the drapes?" "HAW HAW HAW! F*** SHAKESPEARE, YEAH!") So, when Taika Waititi showed up and turned Thor's new solo film into a brightly-colored, loud comedy which openly ignored the established past (he said he hadn't bothered watching the previous films) and injected Strong Independent Women to humiliate the men (e.g., Valkyrie beating Loki), MCU fans LICKED IT UP off the floor tiles and begged for MORE. So Disney Marvel is giving the "fans" everything you accepted and cheered, except you're now getting it concentrated instead of mixed with something mildly more palatable: smartstrongamazing women emasculating and replacing the buffoonish men, inappropriately timed and composed funny-hahas, and no regard for anything that went before. Disney offered, the fans accepted; the fans brought it on themselves.
@@unimpartialobserver Um, the MCU fans didn’t ask for this, “lick it up”, or beg for more. As you can see, from Phases Four and Five falling apart. Marvel comedy and “Marvel comedy” are two wildly different things. Don’t pretend that the jokes Iron Man made in Avengers are in any way related to this putrescent garbage. And yeah, Thor 3 was a fucking nightmare, and I don’t know why it or Taika Wa-tities were ever taken seriously or viewed positively. It ruined ever so much about Thor’s story and world, yeeted every other character out of existence, spent most of the runtime on a garbage planet while actual events were going down in Asgard, and couldn’t be arsed to get such a basic thing as Thor’s age right. Watching it in theaters was what killed my interest in the MCU. Didn’t see anything after that. The rot started much earlier than people seem to understand, I’ll give you that. It was present in Phase 2. Nothing cohered into an Avengers finale movie, so they had to George-Lucas-shove everyone into their starting positions between movies, and nothing was building towards Ultron. Civil War was an equal nightmare, which barely pretended to have anything resembling a coherent plot. No sequel survived the rot, although in different ways. But up until Black Panther, they maintained their ability to write origin stories. Their failure to write a single decent origin story since 2016 is their true downfall.
Let alone the humor sometimes sounded unintentional. Nobody was telling jokes during the final fight in Avengers. Cap telling Hulk to smash in the first movie is an example. Hulk "Puny God" is another. It was funny because it wasn't mean to be.
You know, when I first saw the trailer of the Multiverse of Madness after watching No Way Home, I thought the reason the multiverse was put in danger had something to do with the spell he did to make everyone forget Peter or another factor that played into it, and as such, the multiverse goes haywire. As such, he goes to Wanda for help and she would play a major role in helping Strange to repair it. But, nope...
Honestly, Wanda being the villain is fine really. If you've been following the MCU closely, you can see how she slowly turns insane over time because of how much she keeps losing. That alone is an amazing base for a great movie, but unfortunately, Marvel's writing these days seems to be getting worse. Give us Iron Man 1, the Winter Soldier, Ant Man and Infinity War.
@@vendettatamsu3662 Strongly disagree, Marvel put in a lot of effort, they've been building her up since the Winter Soldier. This movie had bad writing that's all. The team even confirmed that they didn't watch WandaVision. What more can I say?
Seeing Mauler and Wolf laugh in pain is honestly the best way to describe the movie. You laugh as you see the heroes you once loved be torn apart and obliterated by awful writing. Phase 4 is an utter embarrassment however you look at it. Also hearing "dude you're seeing cinema right now" and "we didn't listen" brought me to tears.

“You’re possessing an innocent woman” says Mr Fantastic, right after a meeting where he was going to condemn an innocent man. If Scarlet Witch is capable of it in one universe then she’s capable in another, right?
I knew the level of writing this movie was getting the moment I saw Wanda slip up Chavez's name. 😑 That's so 90s!! Like Wanda , had such a great opportunity to get close to Chavez! She had to quietly go with Strange by pretending she is all for help. Then Strange himself like a detective figures out it's Wanda who is behind all this!! Imagine the anticipation, the surprise!!! But NO. Insead it get most generic writing of writing. 🙄
@@Vor567tez oh God, that would have fix some problems, surely. Like Wanda convince Strange to take her to Kamar Taj so she can check whoever put Hex on this girl yada yada and that would make it sensible to some degree why a full temple of trained sorcerers, Wang and Strange lost so badly to Wanda... because, they are unprepared and ambushed.
What sucks is all of those heroes who died like mr fantastic won't have any justice for their deaths. The person responsible is gone and likely will not ever visit their universe again. Their loved ones will know they died to something that no longer exists.
The scene where Black Bolt pops his own head felt 100% like a scene from The Boys. Goofy ass team, acts all tough and elevated, faces an actual strong and evil opponent, the supposed super strong character nukes himself in the dumbest yet brutal way. Haven't seen the movie but LOVED how you described this part. Hands down my favorite scene in the entire fourth Phase IV.
One of the writers must have had an "oh shit, we've fucked up" moment and realized the only way Scarlet Witch would come out of that fight on top is if the Illuminati basically turned into incompetent morons for a scene.
@@CopiousDoinksLLCwell the illuminati were very arrogant, not even considering Wanda was as powerful as she was because they were more focused on Dr Strange.
If Black Bolt screamed in panic... well, it would literally be a different character. But if someone with his powers did that, it would level the entire city and cause earthquakes for miles around. We're supposed to believe that Wanda would want to intentionally be right next to the destructive force of a nuclear bomb.

The "dreaming as multiverse selves" thing was very funny. Apparently in most other universes people go to school naked, their teeth constantly fall out, and car brakes don't work properly.
To be fair, it *is* the multiverse. Practically anything you can imagine can happen, and if it can happen, it's happened an infinite amount of times before.
Everything that can happen has already happened making none of this special or unique or meaningful if a characters problems or their death is meaningless, what a cool cinematic universe.
For a bit of comic book comparison: in the comics, The Book of the Vishanti does not provide the ultimate spells for beating any opponent; it is the greatest collection of white magic (defense, healing, and support spells), and the book itself, and the Darkhold, are both indestructible. Individual pages can be destroyed, but the corresponding pages in the Darkhold are destroyed as well, and vice-verse, and destroying even one page is immensely difficult. That certainly sounds far more interesting and logical; doesn't it?
AND it makes more sense: of course the counterpart of an evil destructive book is a good defensive one. But it's clear this hacks just wanted a generic Mcmuffin and just slapped the name of something that could work at a first glance.
It is eternally infuriating that 'the ultimate book of counterspells that is, itself, a counterspell.' Just becomes a sad little mcmuffin. But y'know, expectations aren't gonna subvert themselves, it was such a G R E A T twist!
Okay I know this is a late comment, but I was rewatching this vid while working on other things & had a thought: why doesn’t Wanda adopt America? America is a now-parentless child with incredible magic needing training, Wanda is a powerful magic user wanting children of her own. They could even go together to find a universe where Wanda’s “children” are motherless and then BOOM - Wanda gets three new children & three parentless children get a mother who can protect them from everything. Plus, with America living as one of Wanda’s kid America can travel to other universes to find any cure/solution for whatever illness/problem arises. I know this kinda defeats the purpose of the movie, but it seems like such a perfect solution to the problem & I had to share what anyone else thinks lol.
Yes, the entire premise of the story is just so lazily constructed to make Wanda a cartoon villain for whatever asinine reason. Look at one point she forgets she can fly so she can step on glass, which she does so she can LIMP 😂 like a Zombie. Screen Pitch is literally - Wanda does Zombie Walk. Screen Rant: “But……why????” Raimi/Waldron: *So the movie can happen.* 😂
I did, in fact, wonder that as well. Since WandaVision we know Wanda can literally wipe people’s minds, so just wipe America’s mind and convince her she was Wanda’s niece or something. You could even keep like 90% of the movie intact with this motivation, as America obviously doesn’t want her mind wiped, and the movie establishes that if Wanda stays in another universe she’ll tear both universes apart, so Strange has to stop her anyway, but AT LEAST Wanda isn’t trying to murder A CHILD. We can still sympathize with her motivation to be with the kids she still feels are real if we remove the LITERAL CHILD MURDER from the plot. Wanda could be a “sympathetic villain” for real.
Isn't it ironic that when Wanda was a "hero", she was very reluctant and acted like she didn't even want to be there with the rest of the Avengers? But when she's a villain, she gives it 110% and goes out of her way to make each kill as brutal as possible. It's obvious which side suits her more.
She was "reluctant" as you put it because despite her efforts to do good, everyone hated her. It was her resolve to remain a hero despite that plus all her heartache that made me love her so much, and why this film making her such an enthusiastic murderer enraged me to the extent that it did. Despite everything, pre-Phase 4 Wanda was ultimately a hero.
The writers and directors lacked the brain cells to write a complex, compelling female character with immense power, so what did they do? Make her a giddy mass murderer, like Carrie White and Jean Grey.
@@syntheticreality549 Evil Wanda is actually Chthon influenced Wanda. Her powers come from Chthon, plus the Darkhold was written by him. His statue is in the temple, and his symbol is depicted above Wanda's statue. Two of the variant Strange's are also corrupted by Chthon, who uses the Darkhold to influence the multiverse. Wanda is Chthon's avatar, which is why she was able to destroy the Darkhold.
Gotta love how the movie actively encourages Steven's unhealthy obsession with Christine. Like instead of showing how bad it is for your mental health to keep going after someone who doesn't like you, Christine in the movie tells him to face his fear about telling the *already married* Christine in his universe how he feels and keep after her

Yeah "I love you in every universe" is creepy AF. And it takes some bankrupt logic to turn that into a moral virtue, rather than a flaw he has to mature out of.
They literally had a team consisting of basically this universe's Superman, a man whose scream is powerful enough to literally break planets, the "smartest" man in the universe, and the most powerful telepath on the planet... And they still did worse than a team consisting of a rich dude, a ragey boy, and a slightly stronger than usual human man.
Comparing Captain Carol as Superman is a bit of an understatement, she’s more or less a Homelander with energy absorption. Should’ve gotten Sentry on speed dial.
Whilst nearly every part of this movie is terrible this isn’t an accurate criticism, there are were characters in infinity war that were not present in the battle on titan. the rest of the fantastic four could very well have been on earth battling the black order.
What's dumb is that Wanda's motive was done much better with Kingpin from Into The Spiderverse. Yes, we can sympathize, but we know that he is not justified in his actions, and really, his plan is the only way he can get his family back. This movie tries to redeem Wanda at the end, and she had so many other options. Like make a small Hex around you at all times so you could have your kids!
Waldrons writing is incredibly shallow, more like a boy writing than an adult. He misses completely the deeper issues of the nature of love and loss and having to let go. The problem is that Wanda’s character grew emotionally in Wanda Vision. She let the children go by choice. You can’t just erase that, and use a plot McGuffin as an excuse to override her character growth. That amounts to shitting on the previous chapters of the story. Yet he needed to ERASE that growth in order to make her a cartoon witch.
My head-canon is that the hex is powered by people living in its borders. It won't function with only Wanda - that's why one of the mothers begs Wanda to let them die (apparently being involuntarily a power source for hex is a fate worse than death).
Also... We have plenty of material to explain why she would go batshit insane As a little kid she was kept captive by Hydra. And they did human experiments on her for YEARS! Human experiments that finally resulted in her powers... What does that do to a human? Would the powers drive her insane if she has no anchor? And her anchor was her brother, then vision If they were not afraid of just saying it. She is batshit crazy and what she is doing is wrong. Her story is still super tragic and you feel for her. But understand she gotta die. She's too far gone and too dangerouse.
@@cymes82 Knowing that your entire being is being controlled, to the point where you no longer have control on what you do, what you say, even the muscles in your own damn face, and that this will be the rest of your life, until you die, IS already a fate worse than death. Which was the state the people in question were in. Thats why she said "IF you cant let us go, can you at least let us die." Because with zero agency left in your own life, its basically over at that point, so you might as well want it to end right away.
The main issue for me is that Wanda blames Strange for trying to save the girl he met yesterday, while her anger is "justified" by trying to bring back the children she never had and who never existed.
@@summertyme5748 The film could present her as insane or as such that she was spoiled by the book, but instead, both Strange and Richards begin to express their understanding and justify her actions.
Why are we taking this seriously though? Why are we even blaming the character instead of the inept writers? Like this is CHARACTER ASSASINATION, and people are condemning Wanda when we should be demanding better writing for her.
Reminder again of the obvious: The character's are not *real.* They are fictional creations of the filmmakers, writers and actors. Sometimes a performance is bad.... Like Gal Gadot in Snyderverse. Sometimes it's the filmmaking. It is never the fictional character because they are not real. On this site i've seen this weird blaming of fictional characters - usually women, as if they are independent agents acting on the film. This seems to be because there is some sort of agenda - of blaming women (?) even fictional characters for bad films??? Whatever the case - Multiverse of Madness is a badly written and poorly directed film. That's why the characters Stephen Stange, and Wanda Maximov make no sense in the film.
It pains me to realize that someday, when even the Marvel apologists and the rest of the unthinking world accepts that the MCU is over, they will simply call it "Superhero Fatigue" rather than admit that writing actually matters.
@@asmilus7 Yep. I will never tire of the genre but mockery of it when it isn't cleverly intentional. Not sure how many decades Westerns lasted but they stuck with what worked back then at least.
I enjoyed the spectacle of this movie when it came out but wow, Mauler you killed it thoroughly😂 Also, the point about contacting Hawkeye to talk to Wanda is a good one. They have so much to relate to, they were on the same team, their shared pain of loss, even his fall to being a violent vigilante and redemption. He'd have been a perfect addition, even if he ultimately failed it would be a good bit of writing. You could even contrive that Dr Strange spoke to others and Hawkeye volunteered to be there, confident that he'd be enough to set her right, with other heroes on-call in case it went wrong, setting some stakes for Wanda to be in a rush in her attack. You don't even need a huge count of cameos for it, just some of the CGI Avengers.

I don’t remember it ever being apparent to Wanda that she can’t just keep dream walking over and over again. From her perspective why didn’t she just find a quiet cave in her universe and dreamwalk for the rest of her life into one of her alternate selves and be with her children that way? Like she literally experienced it halfway through the film when she first dreamwalked and was with her kids. At that point why didn’t it become apparent to her she could she just stay there and live with her kids rather than flying off into the night to find Chavez …
The irritating thing about the film is that it is half baked and 1/2 thought thru, and the filmmakers and Kevin Feige know but don't care because they think we aren't going to call them out.
@@pauline1809Yeah but when does that become apparent to Wanda? @@givenfool6169 The rule of thumb for soft magic vs hard magic I's that its ability to solve plots issues and problems I's proportional to how much the audience understands it. Noone knows WTF strange's and Wanda's limits are or why they seem to use esch power only once and that makes it annoying af whenever they pull off a big win not clever use of a system or theme. Compare that with the dormamu time loop deal, it works because the audience had both a basic idea of how the time zone and the dark dimension worked prior so his idea felt plausible and clever.
Coming back to this video again after 6 months and I still can't believe America never tried to master her powers to try and find her parents after she threw them across the multiverse accidentally, that would at least make Wanda hunting her seem a little more likely
No effort is made or thought is given to intelligently and productively harness her powers by anyone, including all the Dr. Strange's that she knew across the multiverse. Then it turns out to be ridiculously easy to do, once the film needs her to get them back to their originating Universe. _Believe in yourself._ 🤣 What is the 1/2 hour over for this weeks shit-com episode? The worst part for me though is that Wanda could just ask America "help me find my children" - but the writer cheats with bullshit dialogue meant to persuade you that what Wanda wants means Chavez must die. Cuz....uhm. The best thing about this film and Quantum Mania is that they are failing so hard that MCU may have no choice but to change direction.
It's funny because they really tried to give America Chavez (I still can't believe that's her fucking name) this sympathetic back story but in reality, everything about the way she's written makes her unlikable and non-relatable. One of the very first scenes she has with Doctor Strange has her insulting him to his face in a foreign language (not long after he saves her life and buys her a meal, no less)... What part of that interaction was supposed to make me like this girl??
Making Wanda the villain could have worked, but not with Miss Murica as her goal. A movie where Wanda is the villain should be her pulling a no more mutants and changing all of reality and Dr Strange has to figure out how to unfuck reality. A multiversal traveler could also totally work as the plot, but not with Wanda chasing after her as the driving force. This should've been the true introduction to the multiverse. Bringing the MCU into the cosmic scale, elevating Dr Strange to levels of power that he can function on such a scale, but because he's now so powerful doing anything LESS than saving universes is irresponsible. He can't afford to fight a scary alien attacking Earth. That's what the Avengers are for, that's what planetary scale heroes are for. He needs to handle this other universe that's gonna CRASH into his. Then he comes back because he hears GALACTUS is going to make Earth his next meal. It's a personal interest that only effects one single planet, but it's a foe Earth's heroes CANNOT handle alone, even HE might not be enough to turn the tides, but he could never live with himself unless he TRIED. Remember when the MCU was actually well thought out and planned AS a connected cinematic universe? Good times.
I think both some aspects of the incursions and Wanda's motivations to get America's power for herself can be solved by tying the two problems together. That while dreamwalking and other methods of traveling between universes can cause incursions, America's power doesn't. I'd go even farther and say her power acts as a stabilizing force and any universe she's in is impervious to incursions for as long as America stays in it. Hence why Wanda needs America's power for herself, it's the only way to guarantee that her and her family aren't just wiped out by an incursion she had no hope of preventing. There's still a lot wrong with the script, but this particular idea seemed so obvious to me I'm amazed the writers didn't think of it.
The memory store thing implies that world is actually a horrifying dystopia where corporations can read your mind without your consent and project your thoughts to random passersby. That's evil.
Maybe you focus on a memory and they electrocute your brain to enhance that memory and make it more real... or something. Or just super advance predictive algorithms. Or magic I guess.
I think i've figured out what I hate most about Dr Strange in this movie: He will NEVER use the same power twice. every single magical battle has to involve a whole new range of spells. It's all got to be fresh and different and flashy, not tactical and TO THE POINT. You just know this was intentional, too.
@Cristo Alba oh certainly, an array of tried and tested mainstays, abilities with some utility and universal problem solvers... But imagine if Han Solo's thing was to whip out a new, flashy different gun every few minutes without explanation. It would all seem bloody silly, childish even.
It’s crazy that Infinity War and No Way Home wrote how he uses his magic so much better. His “fight” with Spider-Man is such a well-written scene because he uses the exact type of magic he would in that instance to get the box back but also tries to not actually hurt Peter. And it’s in the mirror dimension. It’s nowhere near civilians, he uses the portals loop trick, the astral projection, and he doesn’t get beaten by being overpowered, he beat Peter without really trying
It’s like a cop uses a gun once for an armed robbery confrontation, then uses explosive arrows, then the next one he uses a slingshot, then an armored chicken, then a medieval mace, and so on. But look at the flip side. In Jurassic World Dominion, Owen uses his hand over, and over, and over again to hold back ravenous wild giant carnivorous reptiles. What is worse? Strange and his constantly changing magic tricks or Owen’s consistent use of this hands 🖐️🤚?
Regarding "Dreams are windows into the multiverse!" idea, it could've been a bit more easier to swallow had the whole thing instead been "For most people, dreams are nothing more than dreams. For practitioners of magic, however, dreams can be a form of divination. In most cases, the divinatory dreams are random and sporadic and can, in some circumstances, be windows into the multiverse. However, there are some people who [are blessed with/learned how to] a certain amount of control over these divinatory dreams, allowing them to access them regularly. Wanda is one of these people." This way, the question of "what were dreams before the multiverse?" isn't a question, and Dr. Strange's dream came about due to it involving him specifically--compounded by it involving a multiverse version of himself.
How Wong could've saved himself from dying. Slingring a portal that points upwards. He gets flung out of the portal at speed upwards, and gravity slows his ascent. Then, just as he reaches or just after he reaches the zenith of his ascent, sling ring another portal that deposits him onto the ground. Velocity has been canceled or otherwise at manageable levels, and he can land safely onto the ground. Alternatively, use the velocity to just launch yourself at the enemy.
It was just so weird, like they just bring it up as a common fact out of nowhere with no explanation, and then immediately proceeds to the next line of exposition

I think the worst part of all of this is that Wanda becoming a psychotic villain and the other main characters of the MCU having to fight her is actually a really cool plotline to explore. The problem with it isn't that it's a bad idea, it's that the writers don't ACTUALLY want to commit to that idea, so the script keeps pretending like Wanda is this misunderstood anti-hero or something while she's brutally murdering her way across the entire universe. Wanda can't just BE a fundamentally broken person who has completely fallen apart after the death of her husband---her moral character has to have "never been in doubt" even when she's capturing and torturing literally a thousand people for months if not years at a time.
My counter-point to that is in order to make a morally-grey character, you actually have to have morals. And when you sell out your principles to satisfy your ego on a regular basis, you have no business writing a heroic character. Nevermind one who becomes a villain.

After watching the first movie, I honestly didn't think he was all that interested in Christine to begin with. Like, not pushing her away or losing her, but just not all that interested in her. She seemed more like a colleague that he was sometimes banging than the lost love of his life. But, What If...? and MoM say that he'll destroy universes to be with her, while still not making her an actual character on her own.
But we need to have our romance in every movie! What would we do without milktoast romantic subplots that don‘t affect the main plot in any meaningful way?
wait a minute, when Defender Strange and America went through her star portal in the beginning, they both ended up in the same universe. When Doctor Strange and America went through the portal after their encounter with Wanda, they ended up in the same universe together. The gradual castration of Doctor Strange is one of the most hateful aspects of the MCU for me. I loved his first movie. He was decisive, ambitious, canny, daring. He was still good in Infinity War-Endgame. Then in No Way Home, he was suddenly a useless puppet who couldn't counter Spiderman, a human whose powers are entirely based in the physical world, not magic.
It's different when your target is an underaged kid who's at least as intelligent and creative as you are, and you really, REALLY do not want to hurt him.

I bet Paul Bettany saw the script and said no. Or they didn't have enough budget. I don't think he's been canceled or anything.
Or, who cares and we clearly see green plants all over and they clearly didn't care enough
and as another commenter pointed out, the brake lights for cars would be green too but they're still red in the movie
Maybe they just used different logic to choose the colours in that universe? No clue what logic it could be, but... 🤷♂️
The plant life being mostly red would require too many scientific oriented thoughts for the writers...

Of course this bonehead move leads directly to their Dragon being killed, the Zombie king gets a Zombie Dragon and then he burns down the great wall and all the Zombies come pouring thru.
All because of Tyrion's (really) D&D's mindbogglingly stupid idea.
Later when the Zombies are attacking one of the last cities, and all the dead are being resurrected, his plan is to hide everyone - in the crypts (!) 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Likewise Dr.
_the Wanda for 10 minutes to look at options to bring the fictional kids into being for real._
The film is far too stupid to investigate the interesting philosophical question of what is real and not.
_A thing isn't only beautiful because it lasts._
_What is grief if not love persevering._
This is incredible *raw material* for Raimi and Waldron to work with.

I liked "your existence wasn't even a joke, jokes have meaning"
Have you considered, man bad?
"that doesn't seem fair"
That is the actual plot arc not that nonsense about "releasing the knife". They cannot just have the woman be the villain, because it must be balanced out with the male hero also being called the villain as well. And certainly she cannot be forced to account for her crimes because 'patriarchy'.
Wanda's grief is also portrayed as a tragedy while Thor's grief gets played for cheap laughs. Between this and that god awful scene from She-Hulk, Marvel has been really insistent on hammering in "The Message".

There's one thing I can think of that would fix a lot of the problems here:
Why does the villain have to specifically be MCU Wanda?

@@GoniMineCraft you reminded me of hulk’s character assassination again :(
The demon cat head really feels like straight out of Rick and Morty.
They really took "It's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit!" to a whole new level.
I would forgive this movie for some of it if Wanda got her hands on the book of Vishanti to solve her conundrum & it just said 'seek therapy'
Also the fights are really lazy and uncreative despite being a supernatural fantasy movie. Characters with lamer abilities have more creative fights.

America: *Casually stays in Strange's universe to learn magic*
Oh... wow.
LAZY WRITING

"With one whisper from his butt"
Obviously so the audience won't be confused /s

Okay I know this is a late comment, but I was rewatching this vid while working on other things & had a thought: why doesn’t Wanda adopt America? They could even go together to find a universe where Wanda’s “children” are motherless and then BOOM - Wanda gets three new children & three parentless children get a mother who can protect them from everything. Plus, with America living as one of Wanda’s kid America can travel to other universes to find any cure/solution for whatever illness/problem arises. I know this kinda defeats the purpose of the movie, but it seems like such a perfect solution to the problem & I had to share what anyone else thinks lol.

Maybe she's a racist.

Also, the point about contacting Hawkeye to talk to Wanda is a good one.

This movie is the living embodiment of “it’s magic, I don’t got to explain shit”
THE WIZARD DID IT: THE MOVIE
Chthonic Magic is the strongest magic of all, it should be more than just laser beams.
I think the best "don't gotta explain shit" bit is the biker who drove straight into the giant tentacle monster without seeing it 🤣
I hate soft magic systems so much for this exact reason. Just make everything up as you go along.
@@givenfool6169
The rule of thumb for soft magic vs hard magic I's that its ability to solve plots issues and problems I's proportional to how much the audience understands it.
Good times.
@@Jermare I assume she just printed out a picture of a bee.
@@haku8135 Bee-powered powers
And it's controlled by the Illuminati... very sus
Maybe you focus on a memory and they electrocute your brain to enhance that memory and make it more real... or something. Or just super advance predictive algorithms. Or magic I guess.

I think i've figured out what I hate most about Dr Strange in this movie:
He will NEVER use the same power twice. every single magical battle has to involve a whole new range of spells.
Remembered a staff that can only grant you a specific spell only once...ANY SPELL
Who was using it??
Strange and his constantly changing magic tricks or Owen’s consistent use of this hands
🖐️🤚?
@@Mr_Bones. who the hell is Owen?

Regarding "Dreams are windows into the multiverse!" idea, it could've been a bit more easier to swallow had the whole thing instead been "For most people, dreams are nothing more than dreams. For practitioners of magic, however, dreams can be a form of divination. In most cases, the divinatory dreams are random and sporadic and can, in some circumstances, be windows into the multiverse. However, there are some people who [are blessed with/learned how to] a certain amount of control over these divinatory dreams, allowing them to access them regularly. Wanda is one of these people."
This way, the question of "what were dreams before the multiverse?" isn't a question, and Dr.
