An English Cottage Inspired Bathroom Renovation

- Today I am sharing the (almost) completed renovation of our Master Bathroom, a project we have been working on for the past couple of Months. I'm also sharing the little surprise someone left us in one of the shower walls. Of course, we also have a look in my Medicine Cabinet and have a little chat about skincare, a passion of mine. Enjoy!
Benefits of topical Vitamin C: Vitamin C is an antioxidant, so it helps prevent the forming of free radicals which break down collagen and elastin. When used topically, because it is highly acidic, it accelerates the production of Collagen and elastin....protein fibers that keep the skin plump and firm. Something we lose as we age. One of the main reasons I started using it is to help fade my hyperpigmentation due to sun exposure and it has worked. It acts as a brightening agent to fade and prevent them from forming in the first place. SUNSCREEN is another very important skincare product.....sun is so damaging to our skin. Of course, there is no "magic potion" to prevent us from aging, but I believe taking care of our skin will help to make us look and feel as young as possible.

Absolutely lovely! Mark did a beautiful job on the cabinets. Everything looks wonderful - it’s such a warm, inviting, comfy room. I always enjoy the fact that one’s personality is evidenced in their design/decorating choices. Something unmentioned that instantly caught my eye was the bathroom door hardware with the older-style door handle & mechanism, also the slide lock. It adds a lot to the mood of the room. I’m sure it warms your heart each time you enter your “new” room!
Edit: By the way, I envy you that nor’easter that’s coming. How I wish I was there!
Thank you so much Melinda. Yes, I have to admit I want to spend more time in there now because it has a very cozy feel to it. My daughter is using it more now than her bathroom. lol. It must be a ''thing'' people do because, we too found an old can of beer behind our bathroom wall when we renovated our old bathroom. It was an old tin Budweiser can, from 1968. I kept the old can and replaced it with a Coca Cola can from 2003 back into the new dry wall, new bathroom. This can be a fun find for the next people who will renovation! 😉
Mark and I signed and dated the wall behind the Nickel Board. It happened to be our Anniversary, which we indicated in the signature. I wonder when that will be found? lol
Looks so nice. Love the nickel board also. Your husband is a gifted carpenter, and he did a wonderful job on the bathroom remodel. My husband is also a gifted carpenter, and very handy like Mark. We are very fortunate to have husbands that can do just about anything.

Looks beautiful - love the colors. Never heard of the beer bottles in the walls, and I’ve lived in New England my whole life. You might find someone that wants to collect those older ones (you never know). I’ve heard of used bottles as insulation, but those are usually stacked on top of each other (circular bottoms facing out). PS I also prefer curtains to shower doors! Enjoy!

The bathroom is lovely. I like your shower curtain. I have always taken shower doors down in houses we have lived in.I prefer the curtain.

Happy new year to you all. The picture that you have in your bathroom looks like a painting of somewhere in the cotswolds. We live not far from this area. Thomas kinkade used to have a gallery in Broadway. Some of his paintings are based on cotswold houses.

Just a beautiful renovation! Top marks to your husband for his carpentry skills too! You've given me some inspiration - I love the idea of a glass jar of bath salts with lavender by the bath - I think I have to space to try that out! Thank you for sharing - and I hope the storm isn't too bad!

Hello Carla, Love everything about your newly decorated bathroom, your husband Mark does magnificent work, as well as yourself. Good Morning, Carla. As always, I enjoy your videos. For my face serum, I've been using Honey Lab 5-in-1 Vitamin C & Manuka Honey face serum, followed by the 5-in-1 Dry Skin Rescue Intense Moisture Lotion. Love the feel (not greasy) and the smell. It doesn't make me look 20 yrs. younger but I enjoy this product.😂 Stay safe and warm.

Nice job you two! Best part is no grout. Definitely going to check this product out and I live in CT so that's convenient. What color did you paint the walls? Very pretty with the blue. I also have lots of lotions and potions but number one for me is Retin A and sunscreen. Thanks for sharing ❄️☃️❄️
Thank you Denise. I was so happy we were able to find a "locally" made product to use and could not be happier with it. I agree with you on Retin A and definitely the Sunscreen. The Sunscreen protects all of the hard work from our other lotions and potions for sure! The wall color is S/W Aged White. I just added it in the description box, thank you for the reminder.
