That was fun...loved the video. My fun fact is that my Mother is 110.5 yrs old and still takes a walk outside every day and doesn't have dementia. LIke you, we try to eat healthy. Mom owes her age of 110 to LIFESTYLE mostly and not genetics as much (her younger siblings are all deceased many yrs ago). It is an adventure managing all things for Mom (her house, her caretakers, finances, medical, etc) so let's just say that I lead a very busy life doing all that.
Wow, 110, that is amazing and still taking daily walks. That is truly inspiring. I understand the challenges of being her Caretaker. I did the same for my Dad and it was truly hard at the time but boy do I miss him. Treasure her as long as you have her! Have a great week Marie.
I know it's hard; you only have one Mother; hang in there and appreciate every single day. Just make some sacrifices and skip some of the less important stuff so you have the necessary time with her.
I was also in the band and played the cornet. I also was a Majorette and loved twirĺing. I had 3 boys. Married my high school sweetheart 56 years ago. He was a football and track coach and teacher, i was a banker. I love gardening and antiques. I have 7 grandchildren, two boys and five girls. I live on my family homeplace where i am the 6th generation to live. My first car was a 1963 powder blue Mercury Comet, my husband's was 1966 Candy Apple red Fastback Mustang. Love your videos.❤
Carla, I so enjoyed this video. I lived in Sturbridge Ma for 26 Years and raised my two sons there. I now live in North Carolina for the past 15 years and I am so homesick especially when I watch your videos and the snow. Love it and that is one reason why we moved here. My husband was tired of plowing the driveway, the last year 3 times a week and it was a long one. I am a real home body and love baking and creating things for my home. I am a sewer making clothing, quilts, draperies and accessories for my home. I too love the Gilmore girls and watch the whole series every summer. I also had a VW bug till I had my first child, not much room for strollers etc. Hope to get a convertible one someday also in Harvest moon color, pale yellow. Thank you for bringing to all the places I love in NE!
Wow, how lucky to live in Sturbridge....one of my favorite MA areas for sure! I think once New England gets into your heart, it's there for good! You certainly keep very busy and that is wonderful! Thank you so much for sharing Kathleen and have a great week!
Wow, Texas is even farther away. My son and my closest friend are still there but I don’t get to go as often as I would like. I really need to change tha
Loved “getting to know you”. I have 2 children - a son and a daughter. My son has blessed my husband I with 2 grandchildren - also a son and daughter. Like you, my children and grandchildren are my life!
It will be fun! Did you give a suggestion on a topic you wanted us to cover because in real life we cover a lot of topics. LOL. Have a great week Sylvia!
Exquisite footage of the Nor Easter. I’ve been a New Englander for most of my life. When I was 18 I went to my cousin’s wedding to find out her father in-law was the Polka band and that is where I had my first polka dance, lifetime happy memories. I was in Color Guard and performed at the 1967 Worlds Fair thanks to a wonderful man named Mr Perkins who worked with community children. I used to drive a purple VW that I would also love to have today. We are blessed to live in New England.
Oh wow, how exciting to be able to perform at the World's Fair!!! Maybe someday we'll have our VW's again, wouldn't that be fun! Enjoy this beautiful weather we're supposed to get this week!
Hi Carla - I've had a house guest for a few weeks, so have only now gotten to watch you video. Thank you, it's great to know more about you. Since you enjoy dancing you should try going to a Contra Dance. They are all over New England and are such great fun! It's a cross between square dancing and English Country Dancing. People of all ages dance together, and all dances are taught. There must be one in your area. Personally, I have 3 adult children, 2 boys, 1 girl and I am now a proud grandmother of a 6-year-old named Gavin and a 2 1/2-year-old named Georgia. I live on a pond in a little cozy cottage in the mountains of Vermont. Blessings to you!
Well, it sounds like you've been busy! Your Cottage Home sounds idealic. Thank you so much for sharing a little bit about yourself and I have to say I am intrigued with the Contra Dancing. It sounds like it is time for you to rest up a bit and enjoy the rest of your week!
Loved this video , you should do more. So my inlaws got married at a polish church & every year on fathers day weekend they had a polish festival where the food was delicious & we enjoyed watching the polka dancers , it’s certainly a skill! Also another fact about me , my husband & I are high school sweethearts and dated 7 years before getting married , so this year is our 41st anniversary but bee together 48 years, with 2 kids boy & girl & 3 grandkids 1 boy 2 girls . Binge watched your videos today , also love the ones of your yard ! Enjoy your week 😊
Thank you Joann. I used to enjoy watching the "Professional Polka Dancers" at different events, so fun and colorful. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful week Joann!
Oh Carla, so much fun! 🤗 • I am a married once & divorced mother of one child, a grown daughter who has blessed me with 4 grandchildren - 3 boys followed by her only girl. They are THE BEST! • Although my father passed away 30 years ago, I am forever an adventurous daddy’s girl. Because of him I am a nature addict - camping, kayaking, fishing, swimming, hiking & forever exploring new places. Love to garden - vegetables, flowers, fruit trees. I find anything having to do with God’s creation to be completely intriguing. And bless her heart, I absolutely adore my soft spoken mother too - through her I learned my appreciation of various forms of art & I find handmade items to be entirely precious. Through both of my parents I was instilled with a passion for history, most especially the early history of our incredible USA, as many of our family vacations were centered around destinations having to do with early American historical sites. • I am a hard working Executive Assistant, & a left-handed, lobster-dipped-in-butter loving, child of the ‘60’s whose dream is to relocate from northern Indiana to a New England state. And I know that if that’s under God’s blessing, it will happen some day.🤍
I love it, you sound like a very busy lady! My youngest Daughter is a leftie also and very Artsy....they say there's a connection. I'm a righty and cannot draw a straight line with a ruler! lol. I hope you get to fulfill your dream of living in New England someday, I certainly understand that yearning. I think you would really like Vermont and Maine from what you describe as your Hobbies. The one thing I love about New England is that the States are small compared to what we are used to in the Midwest and you can go from one to the other in a very short period of time. Thank you for sharing Melinda and have a great rest of your week!
Nothing like a midwest upbringing to get you centered in life! We walked to school, home for lunch & back again. Kids all played outside summer and winter. Everyone had a bicycle. Piano, dance lessons, and clarinet were my things. Marching Band thru HS, Fri night football & sock hops in the gym afterwards. Indiana Basketball, almost state champions, I never missed a game as I was in the Pep Band! Methodist Church and Youth Group on Sundays. My first car in '68 was a royal blue Bug (with engine.) I thought I was so cool cuz now I could drive a stick! No Dunkin, but we had Frisch's Big Boy, one of the first McDonald's, & of course, White Castle. We've lived in New England now for 47 years, but I'm proud to still consider myself a midwesterner. Our two NE born children have blessed us with 5 grands! We are truly blessed.
Love it! Yes, a lot of similar upbringing experiences. We always went to Big Boy after Friday night games too. I think it was a huge benefit having to learn how to drive with a Stick Shift being my first vehicle....of course, my Dad had me driving Tractors before a Car. lol. Thanks for sharing your great memories and enjoy your week!
That is quite a storm!! We just enjoyed the Eclipse in NE Ohio. I was born in Boston, grew up in NJ and now live here. Both of my daughters were dancers throughout their entire childhood and now, my younger daughter is on her college dance team! I also have two college aged boys who are both college wrestlers. I am not as musically talented as you are, but I do love music:). I am an attorney who is married to the love of my life, and we both enjoy home projects, reading and traveling.
We just watched the Eclipse here also. Wasn't it kind of an Eerie feeling? I told Mark, I feel like a Vampire may come out of the Woods! lol. It sounds like you definitely have a busy Household keeping up with all of those College Sports. Our oldest Daughter played Volleyball throughout College, so I can relate a little. Thank you so much for sharing Lisa!
Hi Carla....wow that was some snow! We don't see snow like that in the UK. It was lovely to get to know you better. I am a big Gilmore Girls fan too....in fact now you've mentioned it I will have to watch it all again 😅 I have 3 grown up children, I love singing (mainly to myself!). I love animals and when I was a child we had some travellers living on a field near us....my parents told us not to go near them but we did, they were so friendly and would let us ride their horses bare back. Hope you are having a great week x
I also had a run in wth a garage door. I was about 13 or 14 years old and I use to drive my fathers old chevy truck with a stick shift around the yard. One day he had put some supplies in one of the garages and closed the garage doors. He wanted me to bring the truck up to the front. I told him the truck was kind of close to the doors and it was a little bit if a slant into the garage. He assured me that I could do it, BUT, guess what. Oh yeah the truck went back into those doors and took them off their hinges. My father was so upset. He did settle down and said he would give me more lessons using a stick shift on a hill. I felt your pain when you were telling the story.
OMG, I love it! At least I'm not the only one. LOL I had a few other instances and my Dad always said, she's a good driver once she gets out of the Yard!!! LOL. Have a great week Dolly!
What a great video ....we have a few things in common.....I also was in the Nutcracker along with my husband a few years back ....and of course we played a set of parents...it was very exciting and lots of fun...My husband and I are ballroom dancers...also lots of fun!! I too can read music and play the piano....and I dance a mean polka..(first hubby is Polish).... The picture of you in Marching Band in high school is absolutely adorable ....thanks for a very interesting and cute video!!💕💕
Oh Cynthia, I am envious that you are a Ballroom Dancer, something I've always wanted to try. Thank you for sharing, and yes, we have quite a few things in common. Have a great week!!
Hi Carla. Loved hearing you talk about the gilmore girls. My daughter and I also watched the show together. I continued to watch it over and over. It was the reason for our repeated vacations to New England. We always start in Boston then road trip yo certain towns and stay in bed and breakfasts. We have to travel from England though so we normally travel every other year. I love some of the places that you have visited. I always keep notes ready to plan our next vacation. Kindest regards Donna uk.
I love hearing that Donna. I love staying in B & B's or Inns and even visiting with the other Guests. A lot of times that is how I find out about the "less unknown" things to see in the area. So much to see here in New England. Enjoy your week Donna!
The snow looks so magical ✨ Regarding your getting to know you comments which are awesome so nice that you enjoyed dancing, playing a musical instrument etc. You certainly kept yourself busy and still do 👍 I am of Irish heritage and have visited beautiful Ireland. I live on a corner home, in 2022 a young 18 year old boy didn't stop at a stop sign and crashed into my house. Thankfully, no one was hurt, certainly a blessing and the Dinette part of my home needed to be repaired inside and out. Sharing a connection to New England, I have 2 son's, one is married to a lovely girl who grew up in New Hampshire. Her Grandmother (now passed on) lived in the White Mountains, her Mom presently lives in Dover, N.H., her sister and family live in Rhode Island. My Son blessed me with 3 beautiful grandchildren, one went to college in Providence, RI, graduated and presently works & lives in Boston. She presently dates a fellow who grew up in Connecticut and both went to the same college. In 5 years if all goes well my Son and his family will live in New England. It is a blessing Carla to know you, "See what kind of Love the Father has given to us", etc. ☮🍀🌻🇺🇸
Oh my Anne Marie, that is awful about your Home....thankfully no one was hurt. You definitely have a New England connection and here's hoping your Son and family get their wish of moving to New England. It's a very special place (in my opinion). Have a great week and thank you for sharing!
Hi Carla, what a beautiful intro the scenery is breathtaking. I love the beautiful room your in with the stunning picture. Thank you for sharing some wonderful stories and facts about yourself and the lovely family photos of your beautiful daughters and family. I'm Greek living in Sydney Australia. I love your part of the world and someday would to tour. I have one daughter and like you love her to death too. No grandchildren yet but someday. I love crafting, gardening, painting, thrifting and catching up with friends and organising weekend fun trips. I love watching your videos because It's like hanging with a friend. Thank you for being you and your great work. So happy to have found your channelv always look forward to watching❤
We have two adult sons who are married and one wonderful bright granddaughter. My family is my life! I played violin from 4th grade on. I love stitching and needlework of all kinds. Best wishes to you Carla.
I have two daughters and we also loved watching the Gilmore Girls together. They both are married now and I'm a grandmother of 3 grandchildren. Also, I loved Donny Osmond.
Carla I had a yellow vw beetle over 50 years ago while in high school. A bunch of my friends hung around the local Dunkin Donuts and we piled 9 or 10 people into that bug and i drove around the corner slowly! I think back on that crazy day and thank my lucky stars that nothing bad happened. I had that bug for 13 years.
Oh my goodness... driving the truck into the house is a hard story to beat! haha I am 73 and can still imagine if I had to tell my dad what happened!!!! Even now when I pull into my garage.. I am like 4 inches away from the wall that is my kitchen. As I age, I just hope my perspective remains true! My first car was a 69 mustang!!!! I had it for 27 years. I am 73 now ,and I have a 2007 Mustang. Makes me feel 25 again! My grown grandsons think its cool. I have one son who is 51 .... which I cannot believe!!!! My 3 grandsons are 29, 19 and 3 years old!! My son was a Marine for 21 years , and is now a police officer for the past 13 years. Life is a journey for sure! BTW thank you so much for the incredible snow footage. Absolutely peaceful.
All I can say about your 2007 Mustang is YOU GO GIRL! We are as young as we feel! What an impressive Career path your Son has taken....thank him for his Service and a Police Officer is not an easy job, especially today. I have a friend who was a State Trooper and have heard many stories. Thank you for sharing Liane and have a great week!
I enjoyed your fun facts Carla! I was also on the Baton Squad 1975-1976, my senior year in high school. 1976 was the Bicentennial year, and our high school band was chosen to perform in a parade in Disney World Florida! It was a long bus trip down there, but so exciting. I had never been to Florida, or seen Disney World, and as the doors opened for us to enter in the parade, it was like magic. I kept praying not to drop my baton and luckily did not. My one moment of stardom, LOL!! 😊
What a wonderful video, Carla, and sharing a bit about yourself! I love how you opened up the video with the beautiful snow! I love all four seasons and could never live where the weather was the same day after day! I love New England and have always dreamed of living there! The closest I came (sort of!) was Philadelphia, where I lived for 12 years, and now I live in your former State of Michigan. I do love it here, but that dream of living in New England will always be in me! A couple of fun facts about me....I played the harmonica in elementary school and absolutely loved it! I carried that instrument in my pocket everywhere I went! I was also a national gymnast, competing all over the country! My parents enrolled me in gymnastics classes at the age of 3, and I "retired" at the age of 17. Those were some of the best years of my young life! Again, thank you for sharing and we'll see you in the next video!
Oh, I love knowing that you are from MI also. I lived just south of Ann Arbor. The Harmonica....now that is a talent and so different....I love that! A gymnast is definitely a Commitment! I had friends that were in Gymnastics and that is very tough.....Congrats for competing at the National level! Thanks so much for sharing Lori and have a great week!
Enjoy your show. I found it by accident and have been watching ever since. I love New England. I was an Air Force nurse, volunteered to go to Turkey so I could go to Pease AF Base in New Hampshire when I came back to USA. I once went on a Windjammer cruise off the coast of Maine. Married 41 years, have one son and 2 beautiful granddaughters, loves of my life. Enjoyed hearing more about you.
Thank you for the video! It was great getting to know you better. I subcribed shortly after you began your channel and have enjoyed it ever since. Your snow scenes were beautiful. Blessings and prayers...
Hi Carla, I am originally from NY and moved to the Carolinas 7 years ago. I see the Nutcracker every year and now own 36! I have 7 Grandchildren and feel like I am still 18! ❤
Wow, 36 Nutcrackers is a great Collection! I LOVE that you feel 18....that is absolutely AWESOME! You are as young as you FEEL. Have a great week Sylvia!
I so enjoyed hearing all those fun facts about you! Love that you have 3 daughters!!💝💕 I am one of 3 girls, the youngest of 3! I also have 3 granddaughters, all redheads!! We love our girls too!! NEVER a dull moment!! Lol

Sweet video, Carla. I enjoyed learning more about you. Like you, my kids are everything to me. We have six, 2 boys and 4 girls. Twins in the middle. What would we do without them! Like you, I do drive them crazy, but I think they love it. It was nice to get to know you better! You have a wonderful week as well!
Now that's a busy household! My Cousin that I showed in this Video (my Husband in the Nutcracker) is also an identical Twin. This has been so fun for me getting to know all of you a little also! Thank you for commenting Christine!
What a fun video Carla ☺️. One fun fact about me is, I am right handed but I can write backwards, in script, with my left hand ✍🏻😂. Hope you have a wonderful day today! 🕊️
Hi Carla, thanks for sharing fun facts about yourself. I’m probably one of your oldest subscribers. I live in Dayton, O, am a widow. Have 2 sons, 1 granddaughter. Never met Donny, but Frank Sinatra walked past me as we were going into the concert hall where he was performing, and my heart skipped a beat . Lol❤
Hi Carla, it’s been fun getting to know you like this. I too was a majorette from 9th thru 12th grade. I loved every minute of it. I was the editor of my high school year book. After graduation I got my degree in nursing and worked in the critical care unit and the OR. When my husband and I started our family I had to give it up to raise my son and daughter. My husband is a Physician and the hours were awful so it was our decision. We have been married for 46 yrs now and have 2 beautiful granddaughters. Well I guess that’s enough about me. Oh and we live in the state of Pennsylvania.
I can appreciate what you are saying about the hours for a Nurse. My second Daughter went back to School (she already had a Marketing Degree) for her Nursing Degree and absolutely loves it! She's currently working in the ER. ( Nights) and is still adjusting to that but is so happy she went back for her Nursing Degree. I'm sure you don't regret being home with your children when they were young. Thank you for sharing and have a great week Jamie!
Love your video - thanks for sharing some fun facts too. I too am a New Englander, born and raised in Maine - moving to Massachusetts during my childhood years. Moved back to Maine, to be closer to my parents who had relocated back, married a local and have been in the same home for 32 years now. Looking back, I was thankful I was close to be able to help my parents as they got older. They've since passed ( both, 5 yrs ago ) but my greatest memories are those I spent with them as an adult raising my own family. Have a wonderful week, and yes ... maybe we will finally get a spring! Jacqueline
I agree Jacqueline, it was great raising our children with a most of our family nearby. My girls only had 1 babysitter in their life that was not related to them. I have no regrets in staying in MI until our parents passed to help them when they truly needed it. Happy Spring and thank you for sharing!
Hi Carla! I loved your intro with all the snow! I played the piano for years as a child. I took lessons from our church pianist/organist. I’d like to get back into it now that I’m 57 and haven’t played in years! I have 2 daughters and a son and 3 grandchildren and they are all my blessings. 🥰 I was hoping you and Linda would do a video and talk about how you got started with your channels and businesses. Have a great week, Carla! I
Hi. So glad you spent time telling us about you. I grew upon the Southwestside of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We are known for a large population of Czech People and heritage. The National Czech and Slovak Museum is in the area where the Czech people called home. Like you, I know how to polka and waltz. A big thing while growing up was to learnto play the accordian. May is the time of the morrel mushroom and one weekend celebrates the Houby (morrel). with contests. Polka, music and food. We also love our kolaches❤Have a great day.
You and your daughter look/ looked so much alike. So cute, thank you for sharing with us. I also played clarinet and marched in high school band, great memories. Great to get to know you better! I am also looking forward to the chat you with Linda.
Hi Carla, loved getting to know you better! So funny- my first car was also a red VW bug given to me by my dad... but it had an engine! My favorite comfort show has been All Creatures Great & Small... just a beautiful story and characters. My comfort books are written by Gladys Taber. 💖 And last but not least... I have 3 daughters also... my lovies. All grown, married and giving us beautiful grandbabies. 🥰 Have a lovely week.
Ooooh, I love All Creatures Great & Small also! Have you watched the latest on PBS? It's so good! Gladys Taber is a perfect cozy read for sure! I think I was blessed with Daughters because my Mother passed away when I was 7, so I never had a Mother/Daughter relationship until I had my girls.....true Blessing! Have a great week Vickie!
Enjoyed your fun facts to know you better! I was also a majorette 9th thru 12th grade! I also marched in parades in 5th-8th grade for our local fire station. Best time was to march in the Cherry Blossom Parade every year! Thanks so much for sharing!
Marching was a true enjoyment for me. Prior to becoming a Majorette, I loved having to learn all of the different formations we made at each Football Game. Great memories! Have a great week Jean!
Great video. I played violin in school- would have preferred piano but no classes available…so violin it was. With my husband have spent 33 years vacationing in Maine so, about 1.5 years of our lives. We refer to ourselves as displaced New Englanders. Just love it there and am so happy to be part of your community- so much in common. Love your channel.
I have heard Violin is a difficult instrument to play so good for you! I absolutely love Maine, especially along the water. Thank you for being a part of my community and have a great week Kerri!
Hi Carla , I enjoyed getting to know you better! You are such a sweet person. I share one of your fun facts. I too owned a red VW as my first car! It was a 1965 red VW with a sun roof and I absolutely loved it!! Now, the car was not that old at that time, I am! LOL! I owned it about 5 years! Yes, it would be wonderful to still have that bug! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Carla, I laughed when you said you couldn’t pronounce vodka because when you showed how you pronounce it it’s the way I say it as well and I didn’t realize it lol. I like your channel especially when you share the places in New England. I think in a past life I was a New Englander, it’s so beautiful even with all the snow. I also watch Linda’s channel Nee England Fine Living
@@rosataylor-faraj8198 Oh that makes me feel so much better, I'm not the only one that cannot pronounce Vodka. Linda says it's the Czech coming out in me, who knows! Yes, New England is such a special place and I feel blessed to live here. Have a wonderful week Rosa!
I was thrilled when you mentioned my name! We need to get together,if you ever come back to Michigan maybe we can meet up. My brother and Dad both played the accordion in a polka band. And my brother taught my son to play,We still have relatives in Czechoslovakia. L can sing a few songs in Czech but like you l don’t really know what lm singingLOL.
LOL, too funny, neither of us know what we're singing! We have relatives still there too but so many generations have passed, I wouldn't know any of them. My Grandparents came over here when they were 18-20 yrs old, so I am only the 2nd generation here.
@@mynewenglandstory me to. My late husbands grandparents on both sides and my grandparents on both sides are all from the same area in Czechoslovakia. So our children were 100% Czech. Now there spouses are mixed with German and Irish. The only sad thing is we can only trace our families back a few generations.
Hi Carla.. wow, a colourful life & interesting, the car episode made me laugh because one of my, shall we say life memories was being in a car with my brother-in-law driving down through our local town when a wheel came off & ploughed through a pharmacy shop window! Luck will have it no one was injured the shop was empty! So I understood the fear you felt driving into your house! All ended well for both of us! I use to do a lot of Scottish Country dancing at school & when I left I joined a local dance group, I absolutely loved it, sadly it disbanded so now I try to keep fit by going to the gym three times a week, I am 70 yrs old but still love all dancing! I was a nurse many many years ago in a London teaching hospital, it was a great time & one evening we were given tickets to a Premiere Film, the host was John Mills, I watched Michael Caine step out of his gold Rolls Royce, also Donald Sinden, & Jack Hawken, all wonderful Bristish Actors who have now except Michael Caine have passed, I was in my twenty’s it was a great time to be alive. Now, I read, I sew, I enjoy the garden, I walk my dog & sometimes I sit a remember all these happy memories & just think how grateful I am to still be around to share it with you! A lovely lovely video, your library looks so cosy away from all the snow! Kind regards…☺️
Oh my goodness, thankfully you and your brother-in-law were OK! Wow, to be able to live in London with all of those experiences....I envy you. You're still young at 70 with plenty more life experiences ahead of you! Thank you so much for sharing and have a beautiful week Jean.
Hi Carla, I thought for a moment this was the show "This is your life"" lol, we actually have much in common ! I didn't meet Donny, however my daughter and I meet Lisa Marie !! she was very sweet and looked so much like Elvis !! Like you I never dreamed I would marry my husband , all the girls in the neighborhood had a crush on him, except me at that time.. he is 7years older then me! but like you marrying him truly a blessing!! If I ever get out your way I would love to meet you & linda!! your friend from NE Indiana ~~Paula p.s. I too had a Red Beetle !! too funny
Oh my, we do have things in common. I love that you met Lisa Marie....I always felt a bit sorry for her and what a tragic ending at such a young age. I had an Uncle that lived in Kendalville, IN. Have a great week Paula!
I graduated from Law school and worked in my profession until I got married and travelled the world with my husband. I have lived in numerous countries, and I treasure the experiences. I met my husband on a blind date, to which I bitterly refused to go, my mother actually pushed me out the door! (God bless her). Loved this little "getting to know you" Carla! It makes us feel you are a "real" person to this/our community. I am so over winter....Can't wait for summer!!
Wow, what an experience Gloria of traveling the World! I love that your Mother pushed you out the door for the date! lol. Thank you for sharing and have a great week Gloria!
Lots of fun!! Fun fact. I'm tall five ft ten inches and always pretty skinny 127 lbs l never gain or lose weight.😊 My Grandfather , Father were lawyers, l had no interest to become lawyer but married a lawyer 😊
Well at least you kept the Lawyer tradition going in your family! lol. I am so jealous that you do not gain weight! My oldest Daughter is 6 ft tall so I understand the challenge of finding pants long enough! lol. Thank you for sharing and have a great week Shari!
Oh, this was so much fun getting to know your fun facts, & seeing your beautiful daughters’ & your Dad! Here’s way too much info…1.) Born & raised in Los Angeles & live on the westside. 2.) Was a child actress during the 1950’s & 1960’s. Dozens of tv commercials, tv shows, movies. Came this-close to being one of the siblings in Sound of Music. 3.) Grew up dancing the Polka too, as my Dad was German. 4.) I have dual American & Swiss citizenship because my late husband was Swiss-French. 5.) God brought us our precious daughters as infants via Chinese adoption. They’re now 27 & 29. They’re also the only Chinese-born Swiss citizens, according to Geneva! They hold the same dual citizenship as I do. 6.) My youngest is about to graduate with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis, the top vet school in the world, praise God. She’ll be going into ER Hospital practice & surgery. Fun fact about that: there are two other student peers in Molly’s class who were also adopted from China, and all three girls through the same agency/facilitator in L.A.!! A news station did a piece their first year there called, “What Are the Odds?” Truly!! 7.) I tutor English/Language Arts to middle and high school students, & am Director of Kids’ Church at my church. 8.) I love teaching & mentoring women & kids. Have a blessed day! 😊
Oh my goodness Debbie, what an incredible life you have had. I'm sounding pretty boring now! lol. Wow, The Sound of Music (almost), how incredible would that have been!!! GOD Bless you for giving your Daughters such a wonderful life, you should be incredibly proud. Thank you so much for sharing and have a great rest of your week Debbie!!
Awww Carla, thank you for your kind words. There is always another side to people’s stories, though. I had to wear a 10 lb. leather & metal brace 23 hrs a day for severe double scoliosis as a teenager, am a breast cancer survivor twice (praise God), having gone through a mastectomy, chemo & radiation when my daughters were very young, I lost my husband of 35 yrs at home after a long cancer illness, was suddenly widowed, & our daughters were only 10 & 12. Lost both my husband and our long-time business because it couldn’t be done without him. Had lost my brother & then my mother shortly before that. Only by God’s grace and my deep need to be as whole & strong as possible for my young daughters was I able to somehow keep moving the three of us forward. For those of you who have touches of loss & sorrow intermixed with wonderfully amazing lives, I see you & understand. So grateful for Carla & her sweet willingness to share her beautiful heart, home, & life with us.
@@debbiem6406 Oh Debbie, you have certainly had more than your share of hardship! It is so true, there's always "the rest of the Story" and we all have ours. God Bless You Debbie!
Hi Carla. Loved this "getting to know you". I live in Utakura, Northland, New Zealand. It's Autumn/fall here. I have 3 kids and 6 grandchildren who I absolutely love to death. I used to love to dance as well, Ballroom, waltz, Ceroc, belly dancing. My Dad also played the button accordion by "ear". He never learned to read music. I can play the piano, the recorder and am not very good on the flute. I was also a big Donnie and Marie fan. Take care, Jeanette
Thank you SO much for sharing Jeanette! You are a REAL Dancer! I always wanted to learn Ballroom, I wanted to dance like Ginger Rogers. lol I have tried in the past to play the Button Accordion by ear and it is hard...quite a talent to teach yourself totally by ear. Have a great week Jeanette!
Fun (and weird😂) facts: Met my husband at the drive-through window at a bank (l was a summer floater teller at a bank during college). I was in the audience of the Phil Donahue show when l was pregnant for my first born. I put one of my brother’s model cars in the oven when l was four years old (l have no clue, so no need to ask why😂). It’s nice to meet you and thanks for your channel. And l am still loving the wicker container l purchased from you. I’m @Ridge_and_Oakley_Home. 😊
OMG, those are FUN facts about your Life. Did you get to meet Marlo Thomas? How fun would that be? Thank you for sharing and I'm so glad you are enjoying your Wicker Vase!
Wow, thank you for sharing. I love that you are the 6th generation living in the same home.....priceless.. Have a beautiful week!
Oh, my comfort shows? I Love Lucy and Dick van Dyke show (I’m a fifties baby 🤣).
Me too, I lived in Massachusetts until 5 years ago Texas now
I know how you feel
I love Sturbridge mass
Wow, Texas is even farther away. My son and my closest friend are still there but I don’t get to go as often as I would like. I really need to change tha
Loved “getting to know you”. I have 2 children - a son and a daughter. My son has blessed my husband I with 2 grandchildren - also a son and daughter. Like you, my children and grandchildren are my life!
So true, children are such a Blessing!
Can’t wait till you and Linda chat!
• I am a married once & divorced mother of one child, a grown daughter who has blessed me with 4 grandchildren - 3 boys followed by her only girl.
Love the background music to your video. Would love to know more about that instrumental piece! 🥰
Thank you. The music I use is listed below my videos. 😊

How fun! I love horses and rode my Neighbors horses when I was young. Thank you so much for sharing Kareema. 😊
Kindest regards
Donna uk.
You certainly kept yourself busy and still do 👍
I am of Irish heritage and have visited beautiful Ireland.

Oh that's hilarious Mary Ann! Wow, that Bug served you well! Thank you for sharing and have a great week!
Oh wow, now that's a chance of a Lifetime.....how lucky and what an incredible memory to have! Thank you for sharing Debbie and have a great week!

Lol❤
Oh wow, Frank Sinatra!!! I love his music, my heart would have skipped a beat also! Thank you for subscribing and sharing your Story!!!

Thank you for sharing, I love crocheting and indoor and outdoor plants
Thank you Jolanta
Hi Carla! I loved your intro with all the snow!
I played the piano for years as a child. I took lessons from our church pianist/organist. I’d like to get back into it now that I’m 57 and haven’t played in years!

Yum, I love Morrels. Sounds like a fun time.....enjoy!!!

@@mynewenglandstory My Grandmother was from Moravia..wouldn't it be funny if we were related? I will private message you their names.
Gilmore Girls takes me back to when I worked at Warner Brothers Studio lot where GG was filmed. 💞
Oh wow! Did you get to see the Set?
@@mynewenglandstory Yes I did!
Hi Carla.. wow, a colourful life & interesting, the car episode made me laugh because one of my, shall we say life memories was being in a car with my brother-in-law driving down through our local town when a wheel came off & ploughed through a pharmacy shop window!
I meant like you marrying your husband knowing what a blessing, that is how I feel marrying my husband !
@@mynewenglandstory My goodness my brother in law was raised in Kendallville near Bixler Lake !!
@@mynewenglandstory Reading the other stories...So interesting. Looking forward to your chat with Linda!
@@glorianelson9538 Yes, I'm having so much fun "getting to know all of you"!
Lots of fun!!
Fun fact. I'm tall five ft ten inches and always pretty skinny 127 lbs l never gain or lose weight.😊
My Grandfather , Father were lawyers, l had no interest to become lawyer but married a lawyer 😊
You as well Carla. 😍
Oh and l can two step polka also! LOL
Have you ever ate at Krzysiak’s in Bay City.
Yay!!!!
No, I haven't
