Did my today. If you noticed, aluminum oxides compressed and deformated top rubber part. That should be cleaned, grinder off before installation because all flat surface is covered by at least 2mm of oxides. My were with the same signs of corrosion but in way better condition.Same crap happens to the rear break calipers.Over time Aluminum oxides pinch rubber boot where caliper slider pins are. Then people don't understand why slider pins don't move freely. Why calipers are seized, why break disks are unevenly worn. And this all happening because of bloody oxides.

One tip. Do not forget clean bolt 15 from other side from rust and dirt! I do it today.... And bolt 13 use 45Nm, 10 use 50Nm, 15 use 70 Nm... Thats all.

Very usefull video, because of covid-19 lockdown I decided to do it on my own, it took me nearly an hour and half of a can of WD40 to remove that 15mm bolt, this bolt is major bitch and not giving up easily. Apart from that everything went fine, it took me maybe 15 minutes to put it back on.

Tom Szwed I usually try to heat up the bolts that are really stuck - when the metal heats up, it will expand and it will be easier to remove the bolt

try PB Blaster instead of WD40.

Hi! What engine does your V50 have, please? I also have 2008 V50 with D5 2,4l diesel engine but those happened to have different rear shock absorbers than V50 with 2.0l engines. It was said that for my V50 there is no aftermarket alternative for those shocks, only original Volvo which cost about 500 euros / 1pc.
