The general thesis of the course is that Shakespeare can studied profitably as a political philosopher. At times IMHO Professor Cantor stretches the source material beyond what is in the text to support it.
According to google it snows in Bethlehem every 3-4 years and the Romans had water clocks. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_the_Winds They probably didn't ring though.
