I enjoyed this immensely. You answered many of my questions. Thank you for making this available to the general public.

Paul deserves a standing ovation not only from the clerisy but laity too for his exceptionally lucid and comprehensive lectures on a comedy that he rightly characterizes as complex and dense. A bout of laryngitis does not at all detract from his awesome scholarship, humility, and a beguiling sense of humour. If the audience in the last lecture was thin, fie on the fat losers !

I realize it is quite off topic but does anybody know a good place to watch newly released tv shows online?

Why the need to qualify your apparent appreciation with a nasty little barb each time you comment. Jealousy?

The above comment is to basra vis a vis his remarks on Professor Cantor.

Sorry if you found the comment snide. With a soupçon of humour and implicit self deprecation, I was playing up the merits and downplaying the telltale imperfections of order, sequence and consequence.
No jealousy. The veteran can run rings around me. Thank you, Stella, for the prophylactic input. I slouch over the keyboard, corrected.

Fascinating lecture. Very helpful in my studies at Guildford School of Acting and the University of Surrey as a very mature student!

If I had a nickel for every time Shakespeare wrote a possibly homoerotic character named Antonio I would have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Well, Antonio #2 fell for a guy who looked just like his (possibly twin) sister, so you can't really blame the guy.

So good to hear clear and logical thinking. In todays woke academic environment, his student evaluations would be abhorrent

Mention high school in a college lecture and some super genius will be compelled to cough

I like when he points out the inherent dramatic room in Shakespeare's characters, which in turn gives rise to almost infinite directorial interpretations. I do not like dogmatism, esp. in literary criticism.
