Welcome to Gun Guides. This is the series where I go into great detail with all of the stats of every weapon in CoD WW2. I cover all of the in depth stats like Damage, Range, Rate of Fire, Time to Kill, and much more. In today's episode I cover the MP 40 SMG. I hope you enjoy!

1 minor correction, the 5 shot kill range with a suppressor should have been reduced by 30% in the overhead range chart.

I love the first person view to visualize the damage drop off distances. Much more practical for judging distances on the fly.
Sucks that the suppressor affects the 3 shot damage range, but the long barrel attachment does nothing to the 3 shot damage range....weird way to “balance” the game.
I don't understand how they handled the attachments in this game.

Glad to see youre working so hard to pump out these gun guides as fast as possible, while still keeping such high quality.
I love the MP40 I wish they'd bump the 3 shot kill range to 5 meters though.
I use Rapid Fire and Advance Rifling on my MP40 and the first time I did it I played 3 games of TDM and after those 3 matches, I went 25-7 the second time 28-6 and the 3rd time I went 32-5. I also used the basic training perk known as inconspicuous and crept around the map and stayed out of the middle of the map and kinda waited for my prey to come to me. I used Airborne Division as well and only used the suppressor when entering buildings are killing from within buildings. If you want to be more aggressive and get kills faster then use the basic training perk called Energetic and simply run to the other side of the map from were you and your team spawns staying out of the middle of the map and flank your enemies from behind keep that suppressor on to keep a low profile and you will get some insane killstreaks.
These gun guides are amazing. Ive watched Driftor for years. But i really like how you do it a bit more. The top down shots showing the ranges, with a quick slide to a screenshot of first person view are amazing. Showing the top down ranges, next to suppressor, and adv rifling for easy comparisons. Coloring in the recoil pattern spray on the wall, side by side. Your visuals are MUCH easier to follow and understand than other youtubers. Keep up the good work, you definitely got a new sub from me.
Your gun guides are by far the best with driftor coming in 2nd you really break it down to the most important part of each weapon love your channel
Honestly the MP40 is one of those guns that doesn't even need attachments to do well. It's a good SMG overall. If this game had the pick 10 system, I'd be using more grenades and perks.

Expert Fighter Once you get used to the recoil, it's not that bad. The recoil isn't hard to tame, at least the ranges the MP40 should be used at.

Headshots do affect time to kill in the 4 shot kill range making it a three shot kill if you land two headshots

Please do the M1928, because it's the only other SMG used in competitive play which makes it the most valuable to compare to the other SMGs.
MP40 is currently my second favorite SMG! Highly underrated. PPSH is still my go to. But for medium sized/open maps, really like the MP 40. Currently working on getting the Sten, so we’ll see how it stacks up!
I was looking forward to this weapon. always picked it up when I ran across it. After unlocking it and using it for a few matches I also got the wilco M1928 in a supply drop and I love how I melt using the M1928 more than using the mp40

Love the in depth breakdowns, sprinkling a little history in too. Do you have any plans to do your Top 5 guns?
Ace if you put advance rifling on the mp40 or grease gun it increases the 1 shot kill range in hardcore games. I believe it increases the 3 minimum ranges since these two guns have 4 damage profiles. All other sub machines guns have no effect with advance rifling in hardcore.

I love all the smgs but my favourite one is the mp40 by far ... Foregrip rapid fire and steady aim and it really melts :D (although it can already melt without many attachments)
Better than Drift0r! More stats with stats that include attachment, class setups, and more comparisons and visual data. Love this series Ace!
Thanks for including the RoF with Rapid Fire attached, although I still feel it would be good to show the TTK numbers with it attached much like you show the changes to the damage profile with High Caliber when it's applicable (i.e. for weapons that have it available).
I also like the inclusion of the TTK values on the range map which I believe you also did with the IW GGs. The only thing I would recommend there is showing the Adv. Rifling + Suppressor range as well.

Why is the sprint out time so slow it makes everyone camp
Well it's War, there's a reason why we didn't have people running into no man's land but trench warfare instead
Yeah I know the sprint out time kills me, I'm a rusher by nature but in this game, rushing is so hard because of sprint out time. Turning the game into a sniper/camper fest.

The mp40 is the best smg in the game in my opinion! I use infantry with hustle and for the attachments I use grip QuickDraw and extended mag. Best smg class by far

I miss the OP MP-40 from WaW, that 69-39 damage was no joke.
At the gun's 4 shot kill range 2 headshots and 1 body shot will kill. 2*35 = 70 + 32 = 102. Since the 4 shot kill range is quite nice I'd say this is pretty relevant as it will greatly increase the TTK.
I'm interested in seeing a guide for the M1928 Thompson. Having a hard time playing well with it, at least with a silencer.

This gun reminds me of the similar modern one (P90) that has nearly the same specifications, lethal weapon when you targeting near but when you go for any longer distance it significantly become very weak.

Great video, I think that they should buff the 3 shot range to about 6 meters, would make it a little more competitive.
It would be cool to see the time to kills of all the SMGs next to each other on the screen for comparison
My class
Gun: Mp40, Advanced rifling, Extended mags
Division: Airborne
Basic training: Energetic
Lethal: frag grenade
Secondary: Machine pistol extended mags
This gun is in need of a huge buff. There's nothing redeeming about it aside from the fact the the head multiplier is actually not completely useless like on the other SMGs. The 3 shot range is way too short, and it shouldn't even have a 6 shot range to begin with. It either needs the 3 shot range massively buffed, or the 6 shot range removed, or the max damage buffed from 35 to 49 so it can kill in one headshot and one body shot within that small 3 shot range
Is it possible for you to do the Tommy gun in the next episode?
Honestly I prefer the classic mp40 with the slow fire rate but extreme stopping power like from Cod Waw. However it seems the grease gun is the high damage smg of the game. Great content Ace. Keep it up.
Just found your channel today. This is exactly the sort of data I've been trying to find. Where do you find all this out? Extensive testing in game or do you have some resource for it? Obviously these videos are slightly outdated so I'd like to see what the numbers are now, but very informative and well done.
I bounce back and forth between MP40 and Type 100. Would like to see the statistical comparison of the two.

Got an idea for recoil testing: use the archery target to show the direction rather than having to boot up flak towers every time
That wouldn't be nearly as precise for a consistent test with multiple mags. I've also already got all of the weapon test recordings from launch saved. I do appreciate the feedback though!

With all these stats this gun is the most OP gun , I'm surprised not a lot of people use them continuously

Use this gun with the airborne devision and the perk flanker I believe it's called. So practically ghost and use steady aim and stock attachment, this class is called the invisible cat pissing snipers and everybody off, bcuz you basicly can run fast get behind the enemy spawn and kill all of them but keep moving and don't let the enemy camp. No one will see u with that silencer and the ghost perk. In this game EVERYONE use UAV. That's when you will shine! Try it.
Oh and do not go in the middle of the maps, NEVER!! Keep yourself on the edges of every single map. And RUN Like a bitch in heat!
My MP-40 is my stealth class I use MP-40 QuickDraw Ext mags And Grip. basic training is undercover, I use concussion grenades , airborne division and for secondary m1911 steady aim ( I always have my suppressor attchatched BTW on MP-40.
Try it its Very Good
You can probably replace undercover with Flanker

Nope. Hitting one head shot and 2 body shots at that range would deal 99 damage so still a 4 shot kill.

Hey Ace, you should discuss about forced game chat returning in WWII. As of now, the only mode that supports it is Hardcore S&D. But for some reason regular S&D does not.
I wish the Advanced Rifling would double the MP40 and STEN 3HK ranges.

So since rapid fire gives such a minimal increase in rate of fire in this game compared to previous cods, does it have any negative impacts like increased recoil?
+Baktosh Keshawarz technically speaking, rapid fire has no impact on any recoil value but since the fire rate is higher with the same recoil properties, the gun won't have as much time between shots to re center so you will experience higher recoil.

I like the gun, but I feel it's just almost entirely outclassed in what it's trying to do by the PPSH. The 3 shot kill potential is just too tiny of a window for me to make a big impact for this thing. I'd have been happier if they went for a more historically accurate depiction of the gun and slowed down it's fire rate but to make up for it also increased it's overall damage profile.
BAR or STG44 (or both) next please!
