I hated the Grease Gun in the beta but am really enjoying it in the full build of the game. The key is to see it as a sort of SMG/AR hybrid and not be afraid to engage at longer distances. It's fantastic to use with the suppressor, though after seeing the ranges in this video I could also see throwing advanced rifling on and really using it like an AR.
This gun is incredibly underrated. ESPECIALLY if you get a variant with better iron sights. Candy variant is a melter. Grip makes a HUGE difference on this gun. There's a massive difference in recoil with and without it.

Another fun glitch Ace. If you're sprinting while holding the weapon inspect button, even for a moment, your sprint out time is significantly reduced. You can fire very quickly.
The Candy skin for this gun from the collections improves the usability tenfold - no need for optics to replace those horrible iron sights - I feel like the weird recoil is a lot more controllable with the skin variant
I was using the PPSH but I just started using this tonight and I think the switch will be permanent. I like it more because of its range and much more manageable recoil.
Love the grease gun, been using it ever since the game came out. Your video just reinforced some thoughts I had about it, especiialy with grip and supressor. In hardcore this gun is savage
In my honest opinion the grease gun should get a buff to either make it have a better 3 shot kill range or make it shoot faster I always get outgunned with the grease gun and its one of my favorite guns
You just gotta be more tactical with it. The PPSH and MP40 were more rushing guns, but if you play your cards right with the Grease Gun you’ll out gun PPSH and MP40 users, and even the Thompson.
I never tried scoped on an airborne class until watched this vid. I love the grease gun (Brandi) is variant I have for it. I run it with quick draw and rapid fire. Adding scoped along with silent makes it an absolute melter. Averaged 3.00 k/d for about two hours with this set up. Good call Ace. Thanks. Keep up the great work 👍🏽

The "Grease Gun" is my go-to gun when I'm playing on the small to medium-sized maps, like the USS Texas and Flak Tower. I also leave the suppressor on.
I have a Stealth Knifing class. M3: Grip, Rapid Fire and Silencer (I can deal with the Iron Sights) 1911: Tac Knife, Advanced Rifling and Silencer I use that perk that makes Pistols actually reliable, that you get after pristeiging Resistance, you know the one. Mountain Division to stay off the radar and move quietly.
Due to the slow sprintout and ads time plus the three shit kill range I use the grease gun the same way I use the waffe. Steady aim, rapid fire, and gunslinger basic training. Run and gun hip fire. Use the Waffe if your looking for a high fire rate and use the grease gun if you looking for three shot kills. One works better depending on how accurate you are with hip fire. Both are fun as hell though. Deffenitly suggest these builds to anyone who just wants to have a little fun.

I haven't had time to test this myself, but it really seems like Grip only does something when you're moving the right analog stick. I have a feeling, and I know it could just be in my head, but I think that's why it doesn't appear to do much in wall tests. It would also explain why people (myself included) feel it helps them in actual gun fights. In the very limited testing I've done, and I admittedly haven't rigged my controller to ensure I'm pulling down the same amount each time, the grouping is much tighter. It almost seems to lessen side-to-side recoil and therefore make it easier to control.
Ace, idk if you knew, but, when you change the reticle on the Reflex Sight on the grease gun it stacks on the original reticle and causes the reticle to bug. Idk if anyone else noticed this.
this gun is easily the strongest SMG in pubs, the ppsh is better for ranked. the damage this gun has feels a lot stronger to me. The hipe fire is beast, strafing with the gun makes you a near unkillable target, plus the heroic variant candy's iron sight is just great. It is the best gun in the game for me, yes even better than the ppsh.

I always use the suppressor on this SMG because it feels like the gun gets more consistent, I don’t know what it is but whenever I don’t use the suppressor, I miss 90% of my shots. And I have a tip: use the gunslinger basic training with this gun, it’s AMAZING
It's a great gun if u don't think of it as a smg. Use it more like an assault class take your time don't rush in with it. It will surprise you if u give it a chance I love it. I use expeditionary with it because u can keep resupplying your lethal and tactical. And throw them faster it gets used out of a sticky corner.
According to drift0r the only guns that dont benefit from hc rounds are the m1911, the m1 garand and the svt 40. All other guns benefit in core gamemodes

I agree tbh, I could never understand all the hype around the PPSH. It was never the best SMG for me, the recoil just wasn’t that manageable on it. The Grease Gun was the SMG I ran before the Austen came in and then the Erma which became my baby.
I like to use the grease gun with airborne division with suppressor on and the attachments I use are the grip and rapid fire. Then everything else is preference.

I’m really enjoying your videos… I have a suggestion since you have done 2 SMG in a row maybe you should alternate between the different classes so that they all get the same love ....how about an LMG for your next one followed by a sniper
I like using the grease gun I feel I can control it more than the other smgs in the game because of its slow rpm but it just doesnt have the ability to always take out three guys at once, sometimes i get two but if theres more i feel like there is no way im going to get all three even if one of them is not facing me when i start engaging them. If its 3 shot kill range was increased it would most likely eliminate that possibilty if i get the jump on three guys i should be able to kill all three without cursing at how many hit markers i get and then die. I just think even at that people would just complain that its op so Im not sure what they could do to make it better. Its still the smg i like using the most however.

I love your videos. Well made and very informative. If I can give one subjectively constructive critique it’s (mostly when you list off stats) you end sentences with this drawn out type of accent that doesn’t need to be there and sounds kinda flamboyant.
It’s still a weapon that I feel anyone would to spend a fair amount of time with to be efficient. Ive seen really good players and some that just can’t get the shots off quick enough.

Here’s something to review. It took me ( an average player ) to get prestige 1 in 1d 7h. With a kd of 1.14 and win loss 1.10. At 307 hardcore tdm matches. My other account ( from day 1 ) hit 3rd by this time. Granted their mistake on 3x weekend. But, point being is that in previous cod’s it never took this long. For instance, ghosts it shows you how long it took you. My longest on that game was 11 hrs and change. This will be impossible to achieve max prestige let alone rank 1000 for us to achieve. And I highly doubt this will be an on going game like bo3. Make this a topic and make it be heard!

From looking at BrassMonkeigh / Marvel4's stats, with Rapid Fire, it looks a smidgen over 200 milliseconds.

Glocky Balboa well if it's anything like BO3 it has to be the type 100, which is comparable to the razorback in a lot of ways.

You can use the epic version of the grease gun. The iron sight is so much better and you don’t have to waste your attachment on the reflex sight

I like to use it with the Airborne division... and using Primed. Rapid fire, extended mags, and long barrel. It melts when you have a good connection.

Well it’s always worth running advanced rifling as well if you are gonna run suppressor so you don’t lose your base damage range.

I always show High Caliber when it's an attachment that can be used. SMGs don't have High Caliber as an option.

The trencher has a 600 RPM so you'd be getting somewhat close if you put rapid fire on it, which makes it a lot better
206ms TTK if you have rapid fire on and for reference the Trencher had a 200ms TTK

The Type 100 is already a laser, it doesn't need grip.
Why would you need a grip on the Type 100 or Bren?
you don't they're both accurate enough there's just a noticeable difference with grip say if you run rapid fire and lose control
