Exact same . I replayed this when i was 19 and was like ... hey these ancient crusty mosins are probably cheap. I bought one and fell in love and became an amateur gunsmith for my family and friends. Now 6 years later, I'm still in love and also expanded to swords and knives. World at war helped me find my calling in life lol.
Fun fact: treyarch went out to firing ranges and recorder real life gun sounds for this game. That’s why the sound design is so much better than the other treyarch games

Japan trained their soldiers to believe that surrendering would bring great dishonor to the soldier and their family. Knowing this, weapons factories in Japan probably fit bayonet holders on any gun they could.
I'm pretty sure for games like WaW and Bo1 and maybe 2 for the gun sounds they recorded the actual sounds of guns being fired and reloaded and all that, that is why they sound so good

If you're in a trench with a shotgun and you run out of shells, its much more reliable to stick a charging enemy with your bayonet rather than struggle putting in a new shell :) Bayonets are perfect with shotguns

It had a button to slide the two magazine wells to the right or left, allowing the user to swap between magazines without having to remove one to reload. Each magazine well also had a button to remove the magazine inserted into it. So basically, if the game reflected it, it would be a super fast first reload that would allow you to keep firing and then a slower second reload.

It wouldve made more sense to switch to the stick magazines after the first half of the Soviet campaign since they dropped drums in favor of sticks in real life (Drums are unreliable, bulky and just bad) But... you wouldn't be able to go brrt brrt for as long :)
I like how you set this up but I came here expecting to see the telescopic and aperture sights on stuff... a hacker locked all my attachments so I never got to see them unless i picked them up off of an enemy
Think you missed one reload animation. The Browning in the campaign and in zombies if you had rounds left it would remove the belt and insert a new one rather than just vanishing in multiplayer
the drum mag on the Thompson wasn't used in ww2 the mp40 extended mag was only used by ss officers the ppsh 41 was more expensive and they used the pps 42 cuase it was cheaper and more used
also zombies don’t exist and the ww2 factions never teamed up to fight them! can’t believe the historical inaccuracies just for the sake of “fun” in a video game
