  • A few minor upgrades while I plan out my propane set up. Today it's putting a Webasto diesel heater muffler on and replacing my burnt out windshield washer fluid pump (part number 2892050Y00)
    After that we went on an overnight trip up to Rangele Maine where temps dipped to -21F.

    Wow now I know that the Terra 500 handles the cold. Bit scary when she did not want to start, justified after night at -21F. I learn some thing new every time I watch your video's, this time the gear stick and e brake trick !! The button on my lever was hooked under the plastic cover, so did not know it was there. Look forward to the next adventure. Thanks for the washer part Number in case I need one.

      Nice, yeah I never knew until one day I came out and lever was down (must have hooked the lever switch getting out) I was so confused and scared I snapped the cable or something but found it in the manual and translated. It does handle the cold and I'm not even fully insulated yet but I accidentally left my fan on after cooking so it did get cold in there haha. Next time I'll make sure I shut the fan and I'll probably hop up and start it up every few hours to keep the engine warmer

    The mufflers on those heaters make a huge difference. We need to figure out where we can put ours on the back heater because it's a really tight fit.
    And hey we have some tables like that too! They're the best tables lol.
    I'm glad you don't have to take your seat out to get to the windshield sprayer system. That would be a lot of hassle.
    -21F WOW. Spring cant come soon enough.

      They do make a difference I was kinda surprised. I saw your video too it did look really tight. I've seen your table too they are so handy! haha. Totally. I can not wait for spring we are above freezing all night tonight so it is starting to happen haha slowly.

    Ok I see yours has single rear wheels, mine has dualies. This is something I really wanted because I intend to put a hitch on mine and be able to tow a trailer or mount a bike rack.

      Nice, I wanted to stay away from the dualies because I don't know anything about them and save some money on tires haha. Mine has a hitch with a ball receiver and a light plug but I have no idea what they tried towing, mine is so under powered as it is. I do plan on adding a bike rack

    awesome collection of videos, im looking to import one myself to the UK, for the colder weather, did you add any extra insulation to the walls before the ply wood went up, or is the fibreglass body enough? Perhaps some thinsulate wool would be a good idea.

      Thanks again. I did put up some foam board insulation behind the walls I'm going to do rock wool on the rear wall, ceiling, and behind the cupboards when I get to them. When I gutted it I was surprised there wasn't insulation behind the walls so I guess it would be fine not too but I want all the help I can get in Maine. I'm taking a break on it and need to save money this winter to finish it all up come spring. More videos to come then. That's awesome you're thinking of getting one I love it but it is slow and takes some effort but would do it all over again.

    • @bobbyswampfox
      @bobbyswampfox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It likes 55mph best for getting highest mileage (around 17mpg) but I can go 60/65 on flats

    From Quebec Canada , do you think you can spend a full winter in your camper , and what was the price when you by it .

    • @bobbyswampfox
      @bobbyswampfox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I do think so. With the webasto it's doable it came with a big propane heater that I took out. I won it at auction for $12,500 and $3,400 to ship plus all the fees involved plus repairs to the camper kit (most will need work I think) I think it's safe to say you should have 20k to spend and time to wait before moving into it. Unless you buy from an importer that has done the work already and that usually costs 35k but in Canada you could bring in a newer one then we can in the states

    Didn't Maine make these cars illegal?

      They miss classified the Delica as an atv and kei vehicle. Who knows how that happened. My Isuzu camper hasn't been affected

    Title has ZERO to do with the video!

      @bobbyswampfox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In defense of the title I did take my JDM Isuzu Elf camper van to Rangeley Maine for an over night that was -21F. Among other things. BUT I'll get with my team and workshop a new title, thank you for the feed back.
