  • After a year I finally have my shower done! It feels good to be one step closer to finishing this thing (if it will ever actually be done). I broke a few things on my trip from Maine to Pittsburgh, so next video will be fixing everything that broke. So far we have bunk window, speed sensor, fuel port, and I'm due for an oil change and new air filter.

Came out great, you did a neat job and made a video at the same time. I would have got sealant all over the camera 😄 Plan to have a laminated "pre-flight" check list to hopefully prevent the bunk hatch issue, when heading down the road. I notice that my Elf has another hatch door below the round window in the shower. Our upholstery is the same colour and pattern. Looking forward to the next mechanical video.

That's a great idea! I couldn't believe I did it haha. I did get some sealant on both cameras and counter tops 😄. Oh yeah I wish mine had that bathroom door. Next video should have some mechanical stuff, waiting on new speed sensor and I may have a leak in power steering going to look into that. I also want to just clean the engine bay was thinking a before and after would be good footage.

Loving the videos, bobby Isuzu! Good job. Love the combination of good tech info and adventure log. I just worked with JCD to get one at auction and your videos are filling at least some of the time while I wait for delivery. Mine is an Elf "Terra 500 Bunks", which is a slightly different floorplan than yours with a rear bunk, smaller toilet room and side kitchen. I like the idea of starting some sort of owners group to help find repair parts and stuff, if interested.

Wow, I am impressed. I am not installing a shower in my Elf, nor a water heater, nor a grey water tank. I did a couple 2500 km trips this summer in Japan, one going north and one going south. I have worked out all the bugs now and am very happy with my rig. I am rebuilding my Wabesto heater soon, got all the parts now. I pulled the 3 way fridge, was way too small inside, and bought a 55 liter chest fridge/freezer I am very happy with, runs 60w from 24V. I installed an aircon where the fridge used to be. It will mainly be used when I have shore power but I can run it a short time off the batteries/inverter. I got a little 24V oven that is very nice to have. I am still thinking about solar panels and that will be about all the mods for me.

Awesome sounds like you have a nice set up in there! I'm going for the hotel in wheels and it was a nice trip in it. It performed well, round trip was about 1,400 miles

@@bobbyswampfox I have mine setup for my own personal Bug-Out vehicle. Also I intend to use it to escape the coldest part of winter here by heading south for a month or so in Feb. My rig has snow tires all around, rear dualies and of course all wheel drive. Also, next year I might sell the big house and can live in the camper until I find a new place. I figure I can always sell this camper for what I paid. Bugger costs a bit to keep licenced and insured though but I figure it is cheap insurance if the SHTF. The local Isuzu dealer that did the A/C are really great, costs were reasonable but service was first rate. I am still thinking about a rear hitch and bike carrier, that would complete this unit so I can take a small motorcycle with me at all times.
