Wontons 4 Ways: Chicken, Shrimp, Pork, Cream Cheese Recipe by Chef Shaun 🇹🇹 Foodie Nation

- Yield - Each filling will make 24 to 36 Wontons.
Fried wontons are a popular Chinese appetizer or snack made from wonton wrappers filled with various ingredients, then deep-fried until crispy and golden brown. They can be filled with a variety of savoury mixtures, including ground meat, seafood, vegetables, and seasonings.
Chicken
Minced Chicken - 1 lb.
Sesame Oil - 3 tbsp.
Rice Wine Vinegar - 1 tbsp.
Minced Ginger - 1 tbsp.
Minced Garlic - 1 ½ tbsp.
Five Spice Powder - 1/4 tsp.
Salt - 1 tsp.
Chopped Chive - 1/3 cup.
Pork
Minced Pork - ¾ lb.
Bacon - 2 oz
Sesame Oil - 2 tbsp.
Rice Wine Vinegar - 1 tbsp.
Minced Ginger - 1 tbsp.
Minced Garlic - 1 ½ tbsp.
Five Spice Powder - ¼ tsp.
Salt - 1 tsp.
Chopped Chive - 1/3 cup.
Shrimp
Minced Shrimp - 1 lb.
Sesame Oil - ½ tbsp.
Fish sauce - ½ tbsp.
Rice Wine Vinegar - ½ tbsp.
Minced Ginger - 1 tbsp.
Minced Garlic - 1 ½ tbsp.
Five Spice Powder - ¼ tsp.
Salt - 1 tsp.
Chopped Chive - 1/3 cup.
Cream Cheese
Cream Cheese - 8 oz.
Garlic powder- 2 tsp
Salt - Pinch
Chopped Chive - 1/3 cup.
Egg - 2 large
Water - ¼ cup.
Oil for Frying - 4 cups.
Method
1. Make all 4 fillings as illustrated in the video.
2. Fill wonton skins with 1 to 1 ½ tsp of filling.
3. Brush the wonton skin edges with egg wash solution and seal as shown in video.
4. Preheat oil to 320 F and fry until golden brown and crispy.

If you add” imitation krab “ or real crab to the cream cheese mixture you can make crab Rangoon,you just have to make the four corners meet at a point …….just an idea .

Ketchup soy sauce and pepper dip 4 me
Hi OK so I made puffs yesterday and the filling was tasty. I added garlic and herb spice Karibbean brand and it was real nice. I would omit the pepper sauce next time though. Puffs did not cook in 30mins. I had to give it more time. But it was nice. Keep up the good work. Tip: Oh for people like me who do not have a food processor just pass it through the mill the one we grind dhall in and u would not know the difference

The skins that are available are too thick, it’s better to do the nurse hat fold so it will crisp better.
Where do you get the skins
U can get them in the groceries. I usually buy mines at Xtra foods or massy
The freezer section of most groceries. There is eggless wonton skins, and wonton skins made with egg, and some carry spring roll wrappers.
