BLACK FLAME BLADE GUIDE on Elden Ring Wiki
1. Duration: 7 seconds (9 with Old Lord's Talisman)
2. Black Flame Blade has a very short duration but fairly quick cast time (especially between actions), and should be used immediately before attacking, or between attacks for a continued combo.
3. Puts a 2 second damage over time effect on enemies struck while the buff is active. Dealing 20 damage plus 20 more for every 1000 HP the enemy has. This results in at least 2% of Max HP or more damage over time.

There is a theory among fans that Malenia was modeled for a Sekiro DLC, since she has a behaviour unlike any other enemy in the game which includes her very own stance break cancel, parries like you saw there and even attack canceling. Some people believe she was actually suposed to be Tomoe, Genichiro's master, since many of her animations look like the fountain head palace Okami warriors, but the idea of the DLC was sadly scraped and they used the model on elden ring instead. Obviously none of that was ever confirmed tho.

Started playing the game like a week ago, use this exact same setup (with Double Slash instead of Spinning Slash) and it's so incredibly fun. It carried me until the snowy area where I got RoB (yeah yeah, I know, but idc, it's a cool ass weapon). Great job btw, your skill truly is extraordinary

I think I’m going to try this. I’ve been having some trouble with beating Malenia legit, and I ADORE anything Blackflame.
This will not help you, it's a challenge I don't think this is an easy way to kill her.
It’s nice to know spinning slash makes her flinch. Except I hate it, it’s not a bad AOW I just don’t like it. In DS3 pretty much every curved sword, curved great sword, lots of halberds maybe a spear or two had. It was inescapable. But ER I can ignore it.

Started my first fromsoftware experience a few weeks ago, elden ring being my first ever game of those types, I was stuck on Malenia 3 whole days before I could actually kill her, and u made it seem like such a walk in the park holy moly
I'm a veteran of the Soulslike games and it took me almost a month of trying on and off to beat Sekiro's final boss. That was all on me though, I was playing it like a Souls game and not like Sekiro should be played. Once I got it figured out, the final boss became easily doable. By far the longest I've ever been stuck on a boss.

Rolling + putting black flame into the weapon It will help to cast faster.
I wish this buff lasts longer or being able to cast a little bit faster as well as able to cast without stopping.
Does Flame Grant Me Strength work with the Golden Vow incantation? I went through the game my first playthrough using them but thought they didnt because theyre both incantations and the fire from FGMS went away after i used Golden Vow
the two buffs are stacked because they're in different categories.

Does old lords talisman prolong burn effect 30%?
Using the black flame with aspect of crucible: horn --> lion's claw on greatsword, I absolutely put Malenia to shame. Ragdolling her around then pancaking her when she's trying to get up.
I didn't even know the existance of 2 of those talismans...

Dude, its a trap. That blackflame lasts for 6 secs, its a nightmare. U'll be spending more time actually buffing urself for mediocre damage rather than fighting.
Malenia changed entirely for me after I discovered that there are only 3 or so attacks of her that have super armor. The only thing she does that truly troubles me is the Waterfoul Dance
Wish the black flame would stay on the weapon longer.

1. 봉투검이랑 푸른 무희 대신 '용 표식 대형 방패의 탈리스만'과 '황금 나무의 은총 +2'을 사용해서 보스전이나 필드에서의 생존가능성을 높여주세요.
2. 방어구는 경감률이 높은 큰산양이나 리오넬세트 추천드리는데 무게 '보통' 유지하는 선에서 착용해주시면 됩니다.
3. 스탯은 생명력 40 이상, 지구력 25이상 찍어주시고,
예리(또는 중후)변질무기 기준 기량(또는 근력)은 최대 80까지 올리시고요,
신앙은 흑염의 칼날 쓰려면 최소17 찍어야 하고 25까지 찍으면 '황금나무에맹세코' 버프를 사용할 수 있습니다.

You can use a freezing pot to knock her out of it
You’ll get used to it, just now that after depleting around 20% of her health she will do one obligatory, take as much space possible to be far away enough to dodge the first wave (most deadly one) the two other roll in opposite direction and you’ll be good
If you hit her hard enough when she jumps up it cancels the water fowl dance

You can't put buffs on weapon when you pick affinities like bleed, frost, poison...
What level are you
isnt godslayer seal better for the boost of black flame? also u dont use dex?

Godslayer should be better at 25 faith with or without the boost. My guess he is just keeping the weight down since most of blackflame's damage scales off of boss health anyway. Erdtree seal is weightless and he is using blue dancer talisman.

Godslayer has weight and hes using bluedancer, at this stat spread and dex only outdamages 2h str at 80 dex as opposed to 54 str getting only a difference of around 36-40 Atk Power.
Also Bloodflame Blade and Blackflame damage dont scale off anything.
I use this build before without summon, its so strong but still get hit by her scarlet clone🤣🤦

Its a str build. Blackflame doesnt scale but spinning slash will off of weapon upgrade level and some base stats. It also has high motion value and poise damage.
To be honest if they two handed it you would see even more damage.

if you’re referring to the way he dodged the waterfowl dance in the first phase, he walked under her to point the waterfowl in a different direction and then rolled away because you still need i-frames to dodge the initial hitbox
but yea this technique allows for dodging waterfowl from close up, when typically being up close means death because you normally have to outspace the first flurry of waterfowl.
