Megamorph is such a good equip. Equip it on an opponent's powerful monster when your life is high to beat over it. When your life is low, equip it to your own monster, beat over their monster, set MST and when they go to counterattack it blow up your Megamorph.
It's why Airknight Parshath saw play in Goat and Chaos formats. Pretty game-changing to me when it draws you a card when you do damage and the fact it's a single Tribute monster with 1900 ATK. There's another one that hand rips the opponent and does piercing damage but 1800 ATK isn't as good to justify for a single Tribute.
@@ShiningJudgment666It could be argued that it shouldn't have changed the game back then either, since modern GOAT decks don't really play Scapegoat or Angel that much. Even if we ignore that, it is not game changing effect itself, it was just a good tech choice for specific meta, probably even more because of draw than piercing.
I still run Mage Power in masterduel cause so many modern cards have effects that negate your monster effects and destroys them but Lotta them have no counter for just a huge big stick.

7:00 Idea to make this a better “Archfiend” card: _Archfiend’s Axe - Edge of Despair_ Equip Spell _Equip to an “Archfiend” monster. The Equipped Monster gains 1000 ATK/DEF, and can make a second attack per battle phase. During either player’s turn, while this card is in your hand, deck or GY, If you summon an “Archfiend”monster: You can tribute 2 cards from your hand and/or field; Equip this card to that summoned monster. While this card is in your GY or Banishment, you can banish 1 card from your hand or field facedown: Add this card to your hand._
Theres another reason Premature Burial is limited in old formats, the monster special summoned is not destroyed if Prema is returned back to the hand or banished. So you could use cards that bounce spells/traps (e.g. Giant Trunade) to activate the card multiple times while also making the monster first special summoned "forget" that Prema was equiped to it. So if you activate Prema again, the first monster special summoned will not be destroyed if Prema is destroyed after the second activation because the Prema is treated as a different copy.
This also resulted in future equips with a similar caveat changed to "when this card is removed from the field, destroy that monster" and "If the monster is removed from the field, destroy this card" instead of the wording of Premature Burial which states "When this card is destroyed, destroy the equipped monster"
It was essentially a second Monster Reborn and its properties as an Equip came in handy with interactions with Giant Trunade simply because of how it was designed. It got banned due to the existence of Hidden Armory and Brionac abuse.
In old formats this had no impact as Giant Trunade saw 0 usage there. It was limited because monster reborn was banned and this was the nerfed version of it, limited to 1. Later on extra deck monsters that could inifinitely bounce as well as equip searchers made burial better than reborn.
I got some good memories about Big Bang Shot, mostly 'cause I loved to run Maha Vailo with it. Getting a 2450 ATK with Piercing was a fun time. Then again, with Maha I'd rather use either Gravity Axe to freeze my opponent's monsters' position, or the Axe of Despair itself to get a 3050 Beatstick right off the bat.
Megamorph was actually used in two otk strategies: Cyber Stein OTK and Demise OTK: Use advanced ritual art to send two insects from your deck to the gy to summon Demise, pay 2000 lp to clear the board, then banish those two insects for Doom Dozer and equip it with Megamorph. Your lp are lower than your opponent's thanks to demise and Doom Dozer with Megamorph + Demise reaches exactly 8k atk. The combo was good enough to get Demise limited.
Demise had a few OTK variants over the years. The Cyber Twin Dragon version got Metamorphosis banned and you could Limiter Removal it after morphing Demise and swing for absurd damage twice over or morph your Doom Dozer into it and just get the exact 8k damage from the double attacks and Demise attack. It also got Advanced Ritual Art Limited. The thing that got Demise itself Limited I believe was the Dark Strike Fighter variant in early Synchro era.
Royal Decree, Skill Drain, Rivalry of Warlords, Royal Oppression, Call of the Haunted, Summon Limit, Ultimate Offering, Vanity's Emptiness, Anti Spell Fragrance, Imperial Order. Cards from that era became busted so fast as the game progressed
I love combing big bang shot with mist valley falcon cause I equip it on my opponent then use mist valley to return the card back to my hand to banish my opponent's monster.
I actually used the butterfly dagger + library + Girfried combo back when I was in grade school playing against friends. by adding infinite cards to the mix, I was able to create a situation where I could grind through my deck and force Exotia into my hand. One time I even did this on turn one. I got found on a lot but it was fun lol. 😅😊
@@gonzalez8juan The list is all about equips that released prior to synchros. Let's not forget that Premature Burial and Big Bang Shot can be used alongside Giant Trunade. One of my favorite strategies in old Yu-Gi-Oh! games! Also, Megamorph can be used on your opponent's monsters, too! Can't imagine Raid Duel events in Duel Links without it either. Such an amazing card still.
I had used Metalsilver Armor for at least 2 years to prevent my opponent from targetting monsters anywhere except the equipped one I control. Very strong in mikanko deck, and interesting in classic with great dezart or similar effects

Once per turn, you can shuffle the equipped Monster into your deck, and if you do: Special Summon 1 “Elma” monster from your hand, deck or GY, and if you do that, equip this card to it._ _Guardian of the Winds - Elma_ (WIND) Level 3 Fairy/Effect _While this card is in your hand, Face-Up on the field or in your GY, its name is also treated as “Guardian Elma”. I saw in a video not too long ago (I don't remember if it was Master Duel or Joey the passion) that if you mix Premature Burial with giant trunade it doesn't get "destroyed" (as the text in the card asks for), so the monster stays on the field and you can use it again.
Dude! United We Stand actually SAVED me in a battle against Kaiba in Yugioh World Wide Edition 😂😂😂. The dude had pretty much cornered me, destroyed everything I had, and all I had in my hand were Kuriboh and Multiply, and two other useless cards. I drew United, and hatched an idea. I used Kuriboh and the Multiply card, created a whole wall. Kaiba just destroyed one of them, because for some reason he didn’t bother to summon another beater, and by pure luck I drew a Monster Reborn, brought back my Dunames Dark Witch and used my United We Stand, flipped the other Kuriboh tokens, and processed to mop the floor with Kaiba after 😂😂😂. It’s not an ideal situation, but this is THE fondest memory I have of United We Stand 😂😂😂. Since then, I learned to build my decks a little better, because holy crap do I recall struggling with most of these.
Megamorph is invaluable in racking up ridiculous damage in Duel Links raid duels. You can easily get 200k+ damage in one hit when you equip Megamorph, then use the EX Skill multipliers and special monster type multiplier (based on the raid boss you're fighting.) Just make sure to equip Megamorph first.
5. I remember there was a monster that can gain ATK equal to the of stars each monsters, imagine how much more it will get if united we stand were to equipped it.
Interesting fact snatch Steal would also synergize with bad reaction because you can also punish your opponent for healing due to the effects of snatch Steal which would normally give you a thousand life points because you lost a monster through this way but because of bad reaction now you would be burned for a thousand damage as well as having your monster being stolen every turn that the card is equipped to the monster
I used the Megamorph strategy with blue eyes ultimate dragon in old-school Yu-Gi-Oh video games for a 9000 beat stick. Could OTK on my first turn sometime if I drew black hole/Reigeki or change of heart.
I would use BBS with Evocator chevalier to double pop things all the time. Give BBS to opponent's monster, use evocator to pop a card by sending BBS to the grave banish the monster equipped to it. Would be such a better combo if Evocator wasn't a gemini
This list is pretty Bunk. Megamorph saw far more consistent success than Axe of Despair, Mage Power or United We Stand (the latter two falling off after Ancient Sanctuary and Axe of Despair fell off after United and Mage Power got released). Megamorph saw competitive Success in at least three different decks prior to the Synchro era. Butterfly Dagger Elma *never* saw any competitive play it was banned for it's potential loops, but it was never consistent in those loops it is way too high on the list.
Big bang shot is incredible, technically the opponent takes that piercing damage, same as fairy meteor. Equip to opponent, put some 0 def monsters. And wait to see their confused face

-Equip BBS or Fairy Meteor crush on your opponent's monster. -trick them into attacking your defense postion monster -inflict the piercing damage back at them -get ready to get beaten up.
Funny fact about Big Bang Shot: It doesn't target and it doesn't destroy, and on top of that, it has no protection itself. Back in the day if your opponent had something really nasty on board you could actually remove it with Big Bang Shot and an MST... It's still an usable way to remove problem monsters because it neither targets nor destroys. Just way too slow and requiring too much investment.
10:40 Correction: Each time a spell card is activated you place 1 spell counter onto Royal Magical Library and when you reach 3 spell counters you can discard them to draw a card. If Royal Magical Library let you draw a card EVERY time a spell card was activated it’d be one of the most busted cards of all time.
Butterfly Dagger Elma could easily be unbanned if its effect was just changed to once per turn. That would negate all its infinite loop abuse but would still be a reasonable good card for classic Yui-Gi-Oh since the chances are it's not going to be destroyed more than once per turn in normal play.
That’s why Fairy Meteor Crush is much better. 1. A 400 ATK boost really isn’t that much of a boost and if it is to you, that’s a sign that your deck sucks and it’s best you start over. 2. If Fairy Meteor Crush gets destroyed, the monster at least gets to stay on the field. With Big Bang Shot, might as well say goodbye to your monster if you aren’t careful enough. Rather be safe than sorry.
Fairy Meteor Crush is completely useless. You basically go -1 for maybe some burn damage. Big Bang Shot can at least be used to beat over stuff too, so you can still get at least some value out of it. Fairy Meteor Crush is just a waste of resources.
@@truthteller7283 burn damage refers to any type of damage that is achieved via a card effect, in this case the effect of Fairy Meteor Crush, and Fairy Meteor Crush is exactly that: a card that does virtually nothing except inflict potential damage if you can meet the right conditions, but has you go -1 for that and is extremely unreliable and easy to stop. In most cases the damage will even be far too low to matter anyways, and since it doesn't boost attack, it neither enables otherwise impossible kills nor does it protect your monster from battle destruction by increasing its atk. Fairy Meteor Crush also does nothing to actually motivate your opponent to play monsters in defense position while Big Bang Shot can ensure your monster is the strongest on the field while your opponent will take damage regardless of the position of their monster.
@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 “burn damage refers to any type of damage that is achieved via a card effect”. Yes. Good job you know the definition of burn damage. Fairy Meteor Crush gives the equipped monster the ability to do piercing damage. You still need to actually BATTLE the monster to do piercing damage. It’s not Magic Cylinder, Ring Of Destruction, des Koala, etc dude. “but has you go -1 for that and is extremely unreliable and easy to stop”. And well… so does BBS that is also a -1. Anyone can MST or Dust tornado, or Heavy Storm it. So what’s your point? The difference is that at least FMC keeps your monster if the spell card is destroyed. BBS, while 400 extra, also destroys your own monster if the spell itself is destroyed. If you played BBS. I don’t even have to battle your monster. I can play MST on BBS and make it go bye bye. So you basically make your monster more easy and vulnerable to destroy. That risk isn’t worth only 400 extra points. Just play good cards man. “In most cases the damage will even be far too low to matter anyways” far too low? what do you think you equip FMC on? Kuriboh? Just equip it on a strong monster that doesn’t have an effect to do piercing damage on its own. It’s not that difficult. “and since it doesn't boost attack, it neither enables otherwise impossible kills nor does it protect your monster from battle destruction by increasing its atk”. Your attack doesn’t need to be boosted by 400 every duel if you know how to play your cards. I rather have my monster stay on the field after the equip card gets destroyed then risking it be destroyed much easier just for 400 points. “Fairy Meteor Crush also does nothing to actually motivate your opponent to play monsters in defense position”. I mean it won’t matter either way as FMC makes the monster do piercing damage. Something tells me you don’t even know what card I’m talking about here. “ while Big Bang Shot can ensure your monster is the strongest on the field while your opponent will take damage regardless of the position of their monster” it’s only 400 extra dude. Tell me you’re bad at deck building without telling me you’re bad at deck building. If your deck makes 400 points constantly make or break you the game that you would use BBS at the risk in making your monster easier to destroy. Throw away the deck. Start over.
@@truthteller7283 look, you seem pretty confused, so let me explain how yugioh in general and fairy meteor crush works. Yugioh is a game about resource management and creating favorable board states. Fairy Meteor Crush is a card that costs a resource and is a minus one but does NOTHING to improve your board state. Other equip spells, including big bang shot, enable kills and can at least improve your board state. Fairy Meteor Crush does nothing like that. It is a card that has literally 0 usage outside of giving you a potential chance to inflict damage to your opponent. As such it is much more similar in nature to a card like Ookazi, except that Fairy Meteor Crush isn't even guaranteed to deal any damage at all. Even IF you already control the strongest monster and your opponent has a low defense monster in defense position, which, mind you, is the only situation where Fairy Meteor Crush will ever be doing at least something, even if it's not much, your opponent can just respond to your attack with a Sakuretsu Armor, which will destroy your Meteor Crush without ever dealing any damage. As such, by your "better safe than sorry" logic you'd be better off playing Ookazi, because that damage is at least guaranteed. Big Bang Shot is simply superior because it actually does SOMETHING other than a neglegible chance to maybe inflict some damage if the situation is right. Big Bang Shot improves your board state and enables kills so it allows you to gain a resource advantage, something Fairy Meteor Crush fails to do. If Big Bang Shot enables a kill that would otherwise not be possible, it is not a -1 anymore but neutral. Fairy Meteor Crush however will ALWAYS be a -1. Even if Big Bang Shot is unsafe, it's better to be unsafe than to be useless. Even if you don't want to play the meteor, you're better off dedicating the slot to a different card altogether than to Fairy Meteor Crush, because that card is thoroughly useless, and if you fail to see that and would actually dedicate a slot in your deck to the meteor, it's you who should probably start over and learn about resource management and try to understand the game better.
You forgot about the only other equip spell that is banned in the modern TCG: Smoke Grenade of the Thief. Took ages to become broken but infernobles made it broken because it has a confiscation effect but the way it was used was so janky UNTIL infernobles.
I cannot believe he did not mention the Omega turbo strategy with vylons with Rod of Silence. :) i know that combo was a bit hard to pull off but… i mena it had some merits right?
Wait! The double edge sword isn't fully true and you skipped that option. You could also put Megamorph on your opponents' monster if you were ahead and half the attack of something. Meaning the card does never become dead in your hand, if you are ahead, you can be weak anything powerful the enemy brings out, if you are behind double your beat sticks. -and that is why it should be, at least in spot 6 above, Axe of despair. Also because the gain even on a 1800 monster is bigger than Axe.
You know if u equip BBS to ur opponent's monster and also massivemorph, if ur oppoen isn't smart and decides to attack with that monster to ur monster the massive dmg will be dealt to him/her

Imagine if royal magical library actually let you draw 1 for every spell instead of every 3 like he said in the video, that'd be crazy
I still run Mage Power in masterduel cause so many modern cards have effects that negate your monster effects and destroys them but Lotta them have no counter for just a huge big stick.
Don't tell him about monster or spell/trap removal guys
@@lordofcrowsif you don’t get a next turn that’s irrelevant 😅
@@TheGreatSalsaMan Then tell me how you are gonna play through a full board w/ negates while also being able to equip mage power to a guy and ALSO make it big enough to otk
@lordofcrows yes Mage Power is the solution to every single meta card in the modern game. That's totally what I'm saying
@@PricefieldPunk That's not what I wanted to imply that you were saying. I just asked SalsaMan, how you are supposed to reliably otk against a decent board with mage power as your enabler
Try-oh? Howmever?
He’s doing it on purpose now right lol
Also you can use megamorph to halve an enemy monsters atk to beat over it or make it too weak to beat over a defensive wall
7:00 Idea to make this a better “Archfiend” card:
_Archfiend’s Axe - Edge of Despair_
Equip Spell
_Equip to an “Archfiend” monster.
Yoooo boss you are on a serious streak with these fire 🔥 drops
Too bad the scripts and grammar aren’t as 🔥 lately. Bro thought za warudo had 2100 ATK and DEF 🤣
@@TheGreatSalsaMan yoooo 🤣🤣🤣good catch on that
Bro really pronounced the standard english word trio as try oh 😂
Let’s go baby! You’ve been on a roll holy hell.
Megamorph was actually used in two otk strategies: Cyber Stein OTK and Demise OTK:
Use advanced ritual art to send two insects from your deck to the gy to summon Demise, pay 2000 lp to clear the board, then banish those two insects for Doom Dozer and equip it with Megamorph.

Ah yes, that’s my favorite monster: Guardian Clamberg.
....GUARDIAN GLAMBERG?
I love how 5 of these cards were staples in my Deck: Megamorph, United We Stand, Mage Power, Premature Burial, and Axe of Despair. Great times!
I refer to Axe of Despair as "IBM": Instant Boss Monster. 👍
I loved using Ojama Tryo
I think horn of the unicorn is pretty bad, because it MUST be returned to the top of the deck when it’s destroyed.
This exactly
Too many cards interact with the deck for it to be a downside
@@gonzalez8juan The list is all about equips that released prior to synchros. Nowadays you have access to several deck shuffles a turn a lot of the time, but back in GOAT format during earlier formats, there wasn't a super consistent way of getting Horn to stay off of the top of your deck, even if it was close to being a relevant card nowadays XD
Big Bang Shot worked well with Shiranui, since a lot of their monsters effects proxied from being banished
From your list, Premature Burial and Megamorph are the two most used cards by me.
I had used Metalsilver Armor for at least 2 years to prevent my opponent from targetting monsters anywhere except the equipped one I control. Very strong in mikanko deck, and interesting in classic with great dezart or similar effects
One of my favorite strategies revolves around playing a decoy Sky striker deck where in reality I summon Spell Striker and attack directly after equipping it with a ton of equip spells.
Also sad Autonomous Action Unit didn’t make the list T.T
I should've ran a Maha Vailo and Benkei deck back then. I loved equip cards back then but wasnt too keen on deck building like i am now.
So Big Bang shot is basically the old format's equivalent of running MST to out Mystic Mine? Some things truly never change
There were negates for Snatch Steal, quite a lot actually! MST, Dust Tornado, Magic Jammer, and all sorts of other cards.
In Duel Link with raid event,Megamorph and United We Stand is MVP
I don't even play Yu-Gi-Oh, but I love these videos.
Man i remember snatch steal was the bane of my existence when i was playing the GX gba Game.
Back then, I used to use this card with in my Bad Reaction To Simochi deck, which understandably pissed everyone off.
Interesting how Smoke Grenade wasn't played very much back then^^
For a moment I was thiinking that number 9 would be that card that give the monster a boost of attack+defense
3:34 and 10:10 So these weapons belong to the Guardians, who haven’t had much love in a while…
Idea to take these 2 and use them as a general blueprint for a suite of retrains for each Guardian and their weapon:
_Arms of The Guardians - Rod of Kay'est_
Equip Spell
(This card's name is always treated as “Rod of Silence - Kay'est”.)
_The equipped monster gains 500 ATK/DEF. Negate other Spell effects that target the equipped monster, and if you do, destroy that Spell. Once per turn, you can shuffle the equipped Monster into your deck, and if you do: Special Summon 1 “Kay'est” monster from your hand, deck or GY, and if you do that, equip this card to it._
_Guardian of the Waters - Kay'est_ (WATER)
Level 4
Sea Serpent/Effect
_While in your hand, face-up on the field or in the GY, this card’s name is also treated as “Guardian Kay'est”. This card is unaffected by Spell effects and cannot be targeted for attacks, but does not prevent your opponent from attacking you directly. While this card is Face-Up on the field, the field is treated as “Umi”. If this card leaves the field: Special Summon 1 “Guardian Kay'est” from your Hand, Deck or GY, ignoring it’s Summoning Conditions, and if you do, equip 1 “Rod of Silence - Kay'est” to it from your hand, deck or GY._
ATK/1000 DEF/1800
_Arms of The Guardians - Dagger of Elma_
Equip Spell
(This card's name is always treated as “Butterfly Dagger - Elma”.)
_The equipped monster gains 300 ATK/DEF. When this card is sent to the Graveyard or Banished while equipped: You can pay 600 LP, and if you do, return this card to the hand. Once per turn, you can shuffle the equipped Monster into your deck, and if you do: Special Summon 1 “Elma” monster from your hand, deck or GY, and if you do that, equip this card to it._
_Guardian of the Winds - Elma_ (WIND)
Level 3
Fairy/Effect
_While this card is in your hand, Face-Up on the field or in your GY, its name is also treated as “Guardian Elma”. If this card is Summoned, or if it destroys a monster by battle: You can Equip 1 appropriate Equip Spell from your hand, deck or GY to this card. If this card leaves the field: Special Summon 1 “Guardian Elma” from your Hand, Deck or GY, ignoring it’s Summoning Conditions, and if you do, equip 1 “Butterfly Dagger -Elma” to it from your hand, deck or GY._
Caught a small error at 9:43. Meant to say Mage Power, but said United We Stand instead.
I love united we stand on my fur hire deck
1:53 Howmever
I saw in a video not too long ago (I don't remember if it was Master Duel or Joey the passion) that if you mix Premature Burial with giant trunade it doesn't get "destroyed" (as the text in the card asks for), so the monster stays on the field and you can use it again.
10:05 I wasn’t surprised to see this equip card make the top 3, anybody else
I put megamorph in my dinomorphia deck as a funny/spicy tech card. It's always funny attacking for game with a 6k+ plus with kenta
The thing with Celestial Sword is that it cannot combo with Eatos' effect as the Equip Spell is a 'when' effect, and as such misses timing.
Dinomorphia should definitely be useful with megamorph easily fits that condition xd

Funny fact about Big Bang Shot:
It doesn't target and it doesn't destroy, and on top of that, it has no protection itself. Back in the day if your opponent had something really nasty on board you could actually remove it with Big Bang Shot and an MST... It's still an usable way to remove problem monsters because it neither targets nor destroys. Just way too slow and requiring too much investment.

10:40 Correction:
Each time a spell card is activated you place 1 spell counter onto Royal Magical Library and when you reach 3 spell counters you can discard them to draw a card.
If Royal Magical Library let you draw a card EVERY time a spell card was activated it’d be one of the most busted cards of all time.
Horn of a unicorn i would say is worse, its a double edge sword being forced to return to the deck.
I think we all agree that no card can beat Feral imp and Horn of the Unicorn
@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 Fairy Meteor Crush makes a monster do piercing damage not burn damage. What other card are you confusing this for?

I cannot believe he did not mention the Omega turbo strategy with vylons with Rod of Silence. :) i know that combo was a bit hard to pull off but… i mena it had some merits right?
Can you do best decks of each type and/ or attributes?
Also because the gain even on a 1800 monster is bigger than Axe.
you made a mistake:
Royal Magical Library needs to you cast 3 spells before drawing 1 card.
Ironically, for the Elma combo, it doesn't matter ^^
Malevolent Nuzzler should have taken Horn's place. It's not mandatory and you pay LP instead of going minus.
You know if u equip BBS to ur opponent's monster and also massivemorph, if ur oppoen isn't smart and decides to attack with that monster to ur monster the massive dmg will be dealt to him/her
