As someone who joined Yugioh in the midst of 2017 when Links were new and the game was already faster than a speeding bullet, I’m utterly fascinated by the older formats. It’s like a little history lesson every video of yours about it I see, and I always feel accomplished when I can finish your sentences because I’ve learned more and more about the game from 16-20 years ago. Not even to mention the amazing background noise your videos make when I’m doing work. Thanks for making videos, I hope you continue to for a long time.
I think I’ve spent like triple the hours watching these videos than actually playing the game. Very good for the second monitor while I play something.
To quote another TH-camr, HERO can just play some of the most hated effects in the game and yet people will be kind of ok with it. (Dark Law is one-sided Macro Cosmos, Plasma is Skill Drain)
Its a real shame Sekka stole Jinzo's thunder, real shame to have one of the coolest looking and most iconic cards in ygo history get powercrept like that
Suggestion for a future video: I'm currently reading the YuGiOh manga, and when you mentioned Konami designing the counterpart to Jinzo, who had been designed by Takahashi himself, I remembered that he had made Jinzo as a Lvl.7, while making Makos Legendary Fisher as a Lvl.4. Konami made the decision to change both of their levels, like they changed several other cards, some of them coming out much worse, while others came out absolutely broken. Couldn't one or two videos about cards that were better or worse in the TCG than in the manga original be an interesting topic?
I imagine it fell out of favor quickly due to being a Flip Monster, but I think Cyber Jar deserves a mention for how bananas it's effect still is. Put Cyber Jar's effect on a trap card and people might try to use it. Put that effect on a spell card and that shit's getting banned immediately.
Jinzo was an amazing side deck card for me when Labyrinth was at its peak. I loved having it in the side because I could bridge into it with Small World in my Vaylantz deck super easily. Funny to see an old school card have some niche viability in certain formats.
Ojamas don't count here? Ojama King ZONE LOCKS. That is never not strong. Also, those sleeves are sweet! I wish I had cards to put them in. I never had a physical deck yet. Some day I will hunt down some of my DL decklists.
Man, we have lots of fond memories of some of these classic monsters in the TCG format and glad that the Duel Logs gave the spotlight to some of the most iconic that impacted the game for their time (and sometimes beyond).
Kinda wish I held on to that Imperial Order I pulled as a kid instead of trading it to a friend. I didn't have a lot of people to play with back in the day except the weekly card game hour at a local book store so my decks were just stuff I threw together.
Your Tip 10s are always a fun blast from the past. Always a great watch. If I were chosen to win, I'd love to have the sleeves with the red blood moon in the background. Keep up the great work.
Cyber Dragon had better be on this list simply because it has "forever rogue" status due to Chimeratech Fortress Dragon and Chimeratech Megafleet Dragon. EDIT: Wow, very disappointed. Especially since it not only made an impact making it a splash in many decks, it became the card to refer to for effects on high level monsters that could summon themselves without tributes. EDIT 2: Out of the card packs I saw on screen, the red bordered ones with Mars are the ones I want the most.
Honorable mention to blue eyes white dragon for being the strongest non effect normal monster for a long time. Also for its anime appearance of its forth copy being ripped up to symbolize the rule of only 3 copies of a card are allowed in a deck

Apart from a few of the FTK's at least old ygo was more of a back and forth, rather than the "turn 1 turn 2 dead" of today. It was strong and weird foe its time but not absurd like today's

Jinzo was the bane of the schoolyard for me, I was the only one in my friend group without one for the longest time.
Witch of the Black Forest was broken, sinister serpent before the reprint too, spirit reaper was another good sleeper, great list for the most part
