- In the 5 years since we counted down the game's best Fusion monsters, Yu-Gi-Oh! has changed a lot, and since then, a whole host of Fusion Monsters both new and old have managed to change the game in their own way, from excellent staples to format-warping boss monsters.
Because behind the seemingly simple surface of Fusion Summoning a monster, Fusion is one of the richest and most interesting Extra Deck mechanics in the game for how often different Fusion monsters have been able to redefine the entire subtype.
So today we’re going to be counting down 10 more of the best Fusion Monsters, what makes them so interesting, and the impact they had on the game as a whole.

Starving Venom Fusion Dragon: *Sad Super Poly noises*
It’s not too depressed, it’s still a phenomenal target for Super Poly.
predaplant triumpherovertum or whatever it was is also a good target if one is feeling confident the opponent will swarm the field with dark monsters as it takes 3 darks on the field and it can stop extra deck summoning except fusions

It's nice to see the channel finally revisit some of the older top 10 lists because everything has changed in a couple of years in Yu-Gi-Oh, specifically with Master duel.
What do you mean by the game changed specifically with Master duel? No hate, just curious 🙂

Definitely agree on mirrorjade. Its one of the boss cards that specifically selling the point of "harsh consequence", yet doesnt bring the sense of "untouchable" like other negation or protection centered boss monsters.
I mean, if we look at the lore behind the cards (or the gameplay too, really), the Fallen of Albaz is kind of weak, which wouldn't be suited by something very hard to out.
It's almost kitschy that his main strength is getting back up (cf. the End phase effects of the Albaz Dragons).

Lets not forget the other amazing thing about Kitkalos: It's a possible target for Instant Fusion. I mean, Konami wasn't even trying to not make it above and beyond broken...
they need to ban instant fusion lmao
Or make 3 effects of Kitkallos hard shared once per turn
The fact it can search Heartbeat is also amazing, making Tear one of the few decks that can easily search backrow removal AND be meta.
@@duongallen4094nah, Tear is fine. The problem was herald of orange light, not the tear cards.
Edit: it's fucking sarcasm. I'm not made of stupid
@@unaffectedbycardeffects9152 no you’re wrong, Herald Of Orange Light had synergy with fairies, and the Ishizus are fairies, therefore the problem lies with the Ishizus and Kitkallos. Kitkallos has too much advantage generating in one card that synergizes with pretty much any fusion decks and has graveyard effects and somehow being an Instant Fusion target and even if she got ashed or imperm, you get a mill 5 anyway

Edit: and Branded/Tearlament in general too lol
And then another few being really good cards but mainly seeing play cause of verte
To be fair- and this is my personal bias but- Super Poly is genuinely one of the strongest cards in yugioh, because in a best case scenario, it's an un-interactable +1 that deals with the opponent's biggest threats, and in the absolute worst case scenario of using it, it's an unrespondable fusion spell.
Sure, Maxx "C" and practically the entirety of Tear has it beat, but, Tear can use it, and so can decks that would use Maxx "C", and so can just about any deck that has space in their ED. And it's why I personally hate the card. It's an unrespondable board breaker that gets a free body on board.
And just to be honest about the whole list, fusion as a mechanic- because of how resource intensive it was, with needing a specific spell and 2+ monsters- were always meant to be good because of the cards surrounding them. Rarely because of the cards themselves. Excepting things like Guardian Chimera, DPE, and Dark Dragoon, but even then, those are still made better because of cards that let you get access to them/gain advantage for using them.
Fusion as a Mechanic has gone so far and become so strong, because they needed to be.
I still think Super Poly should be banned though.
@@mr.thekid3827 super poly is really powerful but I think yugioh needs stronger board breakers cause of how strong going 1st is, difference is it’s also amazing going 1st

I agree on all of these Fusion Monsters picks. MirrorJade, Kitkallos, Hugin, DPE, there’s many great fusions in the modern Yugioh!
Also, the text zooms are nice new edit touch to highlight effects.
The ultimate fusion monster is actually "Konami, Powercreep incarnate": Its fusion summon cannot be negated and as long as opponent keeps playing the game and buying new cards it is uneffected by any effect (activated or continuous may it be), opponent cannot also activate any card in response to its summon and cannot activate monster effects while he is on the field. Gains ATK and DEF equal to the number of [insert the equivalent of 5 dollars for any currency here]x1000. Cannot be tributed. It does piercing damage and can attack a number of times up to the number of [insert the equivalent of 5 dollars for any currency here] during each battle phase and when it wins the game, losing opponent must give his wallet too or be banished to the Shadow Realm forever. Attack: ? Def: ?
My favorite all time fusion is definitely Construct. Such a beautiful design.
It was banned at one point too.
After trying Branded Chimera in MD, Fusions are my new favorite ED mechanic. I hope to see more Fusions like the ones Branded, Tear, Chimera, etc.

A sometimes overlooked nuance of Mirrorjade is that if the effect gets negated, the restriction from using it the following turn doesn't apply.
Idea for a quick-play spell that turns tributed monsters into fusion materials:
_A Fusion of Offerings_
Quick-Play Spell
_Tribute 2 or more monsters you control: Apply both of the follow effects in this exact order:_
_⚪️Tribute Summon 1 monster from your Hand or Deck that could be Tribute Summoned using those tributes in the GY._
_⚪️Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your extra deck that can be fusion summoned using the tributed monsters, by banishing them from your GY._
Its nice to have a iodate list feel free to update more old lists ;)
You just know these cards are fantastic when Dragoon is number 9..
In fact, dragoon crushes them all, as it is stronger than them all. Dragoon is literally a card designed by fans. It is his a stronger effect than all of them, but it was balanced because of the way it was summoned by red-eyes fusion, and red- eyes dragon + dark magician really 😆
Dragoon is significantly less generic and you need 3 garnets for the Deck. Everything else above it is weaker but much easier to use.
@@OmarAhmed-rp6vzsummoning conditions and the way it plays in a deck matter to how good a card it is
@@OmarAhmed-rp6vz Dragoon doesn't crush Mirrorjade and Kitkallos, or even DPE and Guardian Chimera. Dragoon's negate might protect him from being banished by Mirrorjade but the Albaz Dragon was sent for cost, so simply sending Titaniklad, Brigrand, Sprind, or Rindbrumm will enable Fusing Dragoon away with the Fallen of Albaz.
Dragoon's negate also destroys and while he may be immune to Mirrorjade's fieldwipe, it's certainly suboptimal to trigger Kitkallos's mill five (if Kitkallos's effects weren't chainblocked anyway).
DPE will weaken Dragoon so much that he can just be outed by battle, maybe even if Dragoon has already gotten 1000 ATK once (until Dragoon gets that, Guardian Chimera can do the same natively).
Dragoon is also not immune to Super Polymerization, which means Garura, Mudragon, and Dragostapelia work to out him (or again, Normal summon Fallen of Albaz).
Runick is probably the only entry here that may struggle to out Dragoon but the known variants would certainly not lose to this obstacle automatically.
@@xCorvus7xbeauty of dragoon is that it’s never alone
For a moment while watching #2, I couldn't think of what was #1 after seeing the fusions before, but then it hit to me...
And then it was obvious. Of course it's that.
Came across this channel since I’ve been searching and watching more yugioh content, I’m definitely subscribing.
Amazing video man keep it up, btw what kind of mic do you use ? Used to sleep to your videos and the clarity of your voice is amazing
My favorite trick with ntiss is using diviner as part of your combo on turn 1, then rezzing it with spright elf on turn 2 to dump N'tiss. Double dipping like that really gets dopamine going
I know Salamangreat Violet Chimera isn't on the list but I love using it, especially pairing it up with Salamangreat Claw! That thing carries my deck in Master Duel everytime!
26:11 So if Tears are so GY focused, here’s an idea for a counter-GY Xyz monster:
_Accumulation of the Haunted_ (DARK)
Rank 1
Zombie/Xyz/Effect
3+ Level 1 monsters
_This card’s effects and declared attacks cannot be negated. During the Main Phase, if sends 5 or more cards to their GY by card effect this turn (Quick Effect): You can Xyz summon this card from your extra deck or GY using as many cards from both player’s GYs as materials as possible (Min. 1). You can only use this effect of "Accumulation of the Haunted" once per turn. Gains 1 Original Rank and 300 Original ATK/DEF for each attached material. While this card is face-up on the field, all cards that would be sent to the GY are instead attached to this card._
ATK/? DEF/?
this wont get printed in the first place.
Thanks for doing an informative top 10. I requested this last vid. I feel i have become better watching this. I actually played you before unless it was a fake!
3:08 with Red Eyes Dark Dragoon, you can use DM or The Eye of Timaeus to get it out easily because it acts like a dragon effect monster.
As an Albaz player, i love this top 10 xd all my goats up there
Love Predaplant. Still my favorite archetype today. I wish they update anaconda to only predaplant fusion or do something so can bring it back. Predaplant one of those decks that if given the chance to get rolling its almost unstoppable. They come back to relevance with a few new cards
I think this could make a good video idea one off cards that could make a great archetype
Dragostapelia is one of my most favorite monster
Not only negate, but reduce the lv is good, not only that on Branded era that card is quite good to become SuperPoly target
DPE is Dragoon 2.0. Mirrorjade is DPE 2.0.
(By extension, in the OCG, Dragoon was Rainbow Neos 2.0. As Verte is an older card than Dragoon by 1 month)
Seeing as how there's an updated list for Fusions, how about the 10 best Synchros or Xyz monsters in the game at the moment?
Awesome video !!! Can you please do cloudians next 🥲?
9:38 you misspoke a little, you say you *can* destroy cards equal to material on field but that part is not optional, which is important since it means you cannot activate the effect if your opponent controls no cards
Any chance you guys can do the top 10 archetypes or deck types that have had the most success over the years?
I wish Dragoon was unbanned in Master Duel :( I wanna use him in my Dark Magician deck
Not while Verte is still a thing
@duongallen4094 limit to 1 🤪 and also Verte to 1 or somethin
They really made a mistake by making Verte so generic instead of making it use materials from its archetype
@@alexbalgar8369 Verte is already at 1, the only way to fix it is to ban it. Dragoon is only viable through Verte or Branded, in latter case you do not use any intended materials like at all. The thing about Verte in MD is, there aren’t anything you’re abusing it with. Dragoon? Banned. DPE? Without Celestial other materials aren’t good enough to run as engines and the most value it gains is it’s own archetypal deck. If you want a good link-2 monsters S:P is a thing now
so most of this can be summed up in "Cards that should have had more restrictions"
Top 10 cards better in real life than in the anime/manga
All the manga cards

I'd also like to add that another way to summon red eyes dark dragoon is using muddy mudragon, giving an opportunity for even synchro decks to play it. Since it got reprinted in rarity collection 2 I'm actually starting to think if I should include it in my Virtual World deck as an extra help against nibiru
Early VW Decks post True King of all Calamities ban were doing this and could drop a Crystal Wing for an extra layer of protection thanks to Ultimaya Tzolkin before doing the Dragoon play.
@@ShiningJudgment666 yeah I've been messing around with that in the simulators, it's going pretty well
I'm facing a problem now tho. After the combo, more often than I'd like to I always end up with an extra piece I couldn't synchro/xyz off. I have xuanwu in my GY but no card in hand to attivate it. I don't know how to fix it
Is there a top 10 list of the best Super Polymerization targets? I've been thinking of buying a copy but don't know what the best cards would be.
General rule of thumb is those that requires generic materials, numbers of materials, common conditions like type, attributes, etc… are good Super Poly targets. Best ones are Garura, Mudragon, Dragostapelia, Starving Venom. The rest would depends on the meta, for example when S:P and Baronne was a thing, Geti Gearfried was a super poly target, or when Dragon-Link is a thing, Borreload Furious was used, etc
I heard "Red Eyes Dragoon" and INSTANTLY went down a traumatic rabbit hole of horrible memories 😂
Yep. But it's why cards like Forbidden Droplet, Dark Ruler No More, Zeus, etc exist.
To be fair, it WAS in the last list, and this is MORE Top 10 fusions
Can someone explain this to me pls. Why Ra Immortal Phoenix does not go to GY when Five-Rainbow Magician in the pendulum scale but Immortal Phoenix can still attack. I'm still new to Yugioh
One big thing that I feel like didn't get mentioned about Mirrorjade and part of the big reason I HATE mirrorjade so much (And branded in general as a result) is that there's no safe way to deal with it/respond to it. If it uses it's effect, I negate and destroy it, I still get my board wiped. If I try to dodge the effect with some quick-effect summon/tribute, it doesn't matter because it chooses on resolution. If you just negate it's effects, you STILL have to find a way to get rid of it without triggering it's effect. There's no SAFE way to deal with it, short of just blowing up your own board in the same chain so it has to banish itself.
Also the fact it's a reasonable super-poly target, if you have access to Albaz, and you will in a good branded deck, you can super poly ANY Extra Deck monster away to get access to this beast of a monster. And I'd LOVE to go on a whole rant about how much I despise Super Poly, but the fact that even a board of monsters who share no types or attributes has a way to be broken by a FUSION spell without using a normal summon really should be telling.
Banish it face down, bounce it back to the deck will not trigger its effect, and those are more common than you think (Kashtira, Lab, Tenpai do all of those). I play Branded myself, and the amount of time my opp can safely out Mirrorjade is much more common than you think
Super Poly, Instant Fusion, and Anaconda are what made Fusions playable, are there any similar cases for Synchros?
Synchros were playable as soon as the mechanic was introduced into the game simply because the mechanic was better designed than Fusions and the only catch was you had to run Tuners (most early Tuners weren't fantastic but if they could be Special Summoned easily either by themselves or with Emergency Teleport, they were more than viable for Synchro strategies). Fusions gaining busted support and generally being designed better is what made them playable. Super Poly didn't start seeing play until Fusions started becoming more and more generic, Instant Fusion only had one good target upon release but it was the banned at the time Thousand-Eyes Restrict but it could be a cheap way to get a body onto the field for Synchro material in the early Synchro era.
more updates please! or maby a ranking of master duel decks.
I'm once again asking for a Top 10 Strongest Monsters that only appeared in the Manga
The new Illusion monsters, namely the Mirror Swordknight Chimera combo monsters, allow you to summon Guardian Chimera first turn.
They can but they won’t, it’s better used during the opp’s turn
Mirrorjade is the biggest reason Branded is my second most hated deck of all time. Its basically guaranteed to be summoned every duel since its so easy to make and usually jusy wins the duel on the spot. Only Kashtira draws more hatred for me.
I still prefer my Gate Guardian Combined. 3 targeted negates per turn can basically shut down certain decks and ace monsters. S:P Little Knight dies instantly, Kashtira's ace monsters usually die, and Rescue Ace basically stops functioning altogether. It's a brutal monster to go up against.
Now do this for synchros and link.
My favorite fusions are the LOD trio. All pretty solid in goat, you just cant run them pure because of the tough summoning requirements
Pardon, what monsters do you mean?

@@duongallen4094 I think it would hontestly. Vista kind of the odd case as they seem to work better separately than mix unlike all the Branded/Albaz ones.
DPE is a brain-dead pain in the ass, but I don't know if I'll ever loathe a format as much as when Tear came out in Master Duel. I'll never understand how they had the foresight to ban Toadally before Sprights arrived, but thought it was fine to release Tear at full power. I don't want to hear that "but the field spell and Kitkallos were at 1" crap.
The tear names were at 2 to be fair, but it didn't help that all the millers/shufflers were kicking at the same time.

Could You do a top about the most unexpected cards that actually impacted the Game
You put in some archetype specific fusions but don't mention Overlord Grapha, who has an effect that's BETTER than a negate (replaces activation effect) along with being a beefy beatstick and re-summoning its fusion material if he's destroyed. In addition the Dark World archetype fusion card, lets you summon it by using materials from your hand, field or GY, Hand getting discarded as effect so you get to trigger your dark worlds from the hand too.
Because it was niche, and only offers one value compared to most cards in this list. Let’s say even Kitkallos can be stashed in decks that wasn’t Tearlaments for that crazy mill 5, by using Instant Fusion and letting it get destroyed during the end phase, or bringing a Merli to get a mill 8, purely as an engine. And also getting discarded for effects is much worse than just get sent to graveyard by effects, the latter covers the former
@@duongallen4094 you talk about niche when Hugin is on the list.
@@XanKreigor Runick see ton of play in multiple deck unlike Dark World and Hugin being flexible in most of those deck make it less niche than Grapha who only see play in Tear as 5th best monster to summon.
@@XanKreigor Hughin offers 3 values: Archetypal field search, body on field and destruction substitutes. The Runick Field Spell - Runick Fountain is an overtuned field spell that offers interactions and recursion, her levels offers synergy with Spright or any strategy you can think of, it’s just so happens that Spright is the best one out of them, and destruction substitues is just premier against mass destructions like Lightning Storm, Harpie’s Feather Duster (not Raigeki). Compared to Grapha who only offers 1 value of effect replacement, the garnet he runs, Grapha Dragon Lord Of Dark World is just a big body that doesn’t offer any on field effect, and doesn’t respond to getting sent from hand to graveyard cause it’s not the same as getting discarded by effects

Favorite fusion for me is Kitkalos
Hugin does not prevent your board from being wiped by cards like raigeki or lightning storm.. as it will be destroyed as well and not "other card(s). Great video nonetheless
Gladiator beast editor tamer should be here to pretty much easy to get out then able to summon any gb fusion with no negative and effect is soft 1 per turn so you can spam muti version of it to get more gb fusion to pretty much win due to they can pop back row negative cards etc
N'tss is a retrain of Norden...? They are at least in the same archetype, Entity, but that's like saying Cthugua is a retrain of Hastorr when they're practically different beings entirely.
I noticed that Konami does not like having too good of a card by accident... I used to wonder why do all these fun engines and archetypes do not get new good support?... And after some pondering, i noticed that Konami is purposely making a few overpowered decks, but you require a lot of pieces that are SR and UR to get them going, instead of just 1 busted card. And Fusion monsters are just walking around all the requirements via spells and abilities... You van fusion from the graveyard even if you dont have the cards in the graveyard, you can fusion from a link, even if you dont have the spell at hand, you can fusion by simply having the monsters in the field... Basically what Shiranui zombies used to do for synchros, fusion now can do several times a turn without many of the restrictions or requirements.
Synchros require tuners on the field and face up, but there are cards that can be treated as Fallen of Albaz and fusions can be even used when face down. Rarely any synchro can use your opponents cards as material, and there are very few generic monsters with good utility effects for it, since level is a requirement for synchros.
Overall, fusion monsters is the bread and butter of yu gi og at the moment. Since even the materials can have good effects on their own even when played before being fusioned.
10 entries that justify the existence of called by the grave
Wait just a second here. If the effect of N'tiss activates just from it going to the GY, wouldn't that mean it's an easy Instant Fusion target?? I see a new banlist addition here.
Not necessarily, even so the problem would be Instant Fusion, and it getting destroyed in the end phase it was summoned wouldn’t net you any advantage
