    My penultimate dream car for the last 20 years has been a 1969 - 1971 Dodge Dart or Plymouth Scamp, with a cammed 5.7 HEMI swap. Awesome to know a company exists that makes that reasonably possible without a lot of custom computers and crazy in depth tuning just to make it work. But it's a damn shame that Darts, and now the Scamps, in decent shape (meaning not rotted out) are very very expensive nowadays.

    Neat setup Sky, I guess the real test will be in the spring for driveability. You last video you had some neck pain if I remember, I hope it's feeling better! I am tired of hearing about the terminator X which is more expensive than the engine it controls, so glad to see you mopar guys and gals have a cheaper option. It would be way more detailed, but it would be cool to see how a megasquirt system compares. I have been thinking about the haltech rebel LS for my build, which comes in really cheap, but I do not think it has a screen. I wonder if they might come up with a similar hemi system?

      Hey Tucker! Just had double disc replacement surgery on my neck on Monday 😬. Hopefully it'll all come back OK, the doctor thinks I'll have some level of permanent nerve damage in my right arm, but I'm hoping I can prove him wrong. I actually had a Megasquirt system controlling a motorcycle i built many years ago. It may have changed significantly since I used it, but it was not for the faint of heart, pretty technical compared to these other systems. I'd love to see Haltech get involved but I imagine it would be even more expensive than a holley setup.

      Totally agree, but currently neither Aces or holley offer that support. There is a company called sound German automotive that has a standalone controller for the trans only, but you'd have to find a way to integrate the sensor signals with the primary PCM. I'm sure it could be done.

    Do you have any tips on swapping the engine out on my Challenger? It's a 2013 manual RT. I haven't swapped an engine ever and i feel like i may be in over my head doing it myself so id really love some advice!

    • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For an engine swap you've definitely chosen the right one! That's about as plug n play as you get swapping the 5.7 for the 392. I can't think of any issues you're going to run into because they are physically identical and everything bolts up exactly the same. you can even use the stock manifold/air intake if you don't want to change anything else. Of course you'll need some custom tuning with the aftermarket cam to get the most out of it, but it should start up and run OK with just the stock tune.
      I do have a ton of videos on my channel that have engine installs into LX platform vehicles, so check those out if you get a chance. If you end up with a specific question that you don't see answered feel free to email me (it's in the video description) and hopefully I'll be able to help you out.

Ive seen alot of vids on this build, but ive not seen any that can clarify this loint for me. Now ive got a pre eagle block, 2006 and im using eagle heads, exhaust, intake and injectors... Ive had it running for a while on 2 head gaskets per head but developed a rod knock and here we are... So my question is, do i really need to use a .040 or grater head gasket or can i use just a oem gasket for a 2009 model.... What i dont want is to plug my pistons with the valves... I’m putting a 5.7 in my 68 Charger and am looking at doing non-OEM fuel injection. This might work nicely since I am rebuilding my Hemi from a short block I got from a dropped valve seat. • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Seems how your engine had a dropped valve seat, is it a pre 2009 engine? If so, I bet you could still make it work using this system by changing the crank tone wheel to the newer 58 tooth, and installing the 09+ crank sensor. I suspect it would run just fine with those updates.

    • @jimmyterrell2467

      @ It’s an Eagle version 09 & up. I’m breaking it all the way down. Valve kissed the top of the piston so not taking any chances. I got a NAG1 to go in also for the overdrive. I don't necessarily disagree with you, but I think its a bit more complicated and nuanced than that.
      I am what you would refer to as an old school Mopar guy. I have a 1971 Dodge Dart with a 392 Hemi stroker I build all by myself, as well as a 1999 Dodge Dakota with a 6.1 Hemi from a 2010 Challenger SRT8. I have worked with plenty of carburetors in the past, and yet I love EFI and have no problem experimenting with it. Not all of us old school Mopar guys have our heads buried in the proverbial sand.
      Frankly, I think the reason why we don't see more old school Mopar guys doing this is simply a numbers thing, there has always been more GM and Ford cars on the road, therefore you see more parts and support being offered by the after market industry, and thus more experimentation by the end user in general. If you take a look at a Summit Racing catalog you will see what I am talking about, the support for Mopar vehicles is almost non existent. There's not much support because they believe there's not much money to be made due to the lower amount of people owning Mopar vehicles. In my opinion it's just more of a supply and demand issue than anything else.
