I work at a Mazda Dealership, and I just had faith in the brand that they would put speakers in a logical place. Turns out thst the 2024 version in USA just steaight up removed the rear speakers until the carbon version. I get that the brand is trying to save the customer money while trying to maintain a certain build quality... but this is just straight ridiculous.
Loved the details! I usually use Crutchfield to plan systems out but they had not researched this vehicle. I was so fascinated how minimal this stereo system was and shocked they even bothered with that driver side "woofer." I'd definitely would have replaced the front speakers as well, probably would have a bigger impact. Thanks for your video, hopefully more to come :)
Yes! I would have loved to upgraded the fronts as well with a larger speaker, but we were limited to executing the clients wishes :) Thanks so much for watching! And yes working on new content all the time, more coming soon.
Hello. Thank you so much for this video. I recently purchased this car for my youngest son. As we were driving and checking out all the features, I began to play with the stereo system and noticed that the rear speakers weren’t working. I thought maybe they were broken. I contacted the dealer and after a few days they got back to me and told me that “the rear speakers were just for looks.” I was extremely disappointed. Especially given the fact that we love the car. It drives extremely well and is gas efficient without being a hybrid. I really couldn’t believe it so I came onto TH-cam and found your video. Would you share the cost of the upgrade in the video? Or at least how much we should expect to pay for a similar upgrade with the same components. Thank you again.
2024 mazda 3 is horrible then for sound. I have a 2023 mazda 3 HB and I just replaced all 4 2.75 speakers and ran them with 1 12 inch sub. Still can't get a full sound due to the speaker sound. I'm powering the 6 speakers with I 1500x4 Brutus amp. And I said 6 due to me installing 2 6x9 speakers for more sound. Still not satisfied tho. The only way to make a full sound is to install 5x7 or 6x9 on the door with prefab. That's 900$ a door.
I am just looking for a way to replace only the door speakers. Thank you so much for this great video. It's shame that Mazda removed the wires for the rear speakers. 2024 mazda 3 is a complete disappointment. What speakers would you recommend for the front doors, something the stock amp can handle. TIA
Stupid question, sorry. How did you remove the front seat like that? I haven't quite looked fully yet but am wondering if it's too tightly put onto the car chasis and if I need a tool to remove it with enough torque
@carstereochick I have the same car and noticed the front door speakers look small. Do you know the cutout holes for the front doors? I plan on putting 6.5s but looks like I will have to get some custom door pods for the front doors.
I likee my 2023 mazda 3 HB. Systems sucks tho! Speakers are 2.75 not even 3. Replaced all 2.75 speakers with kickers, got 2 6x9 in the back with my 12 inch audiopipe sub. Still sounds crappier than other vehicles i owned......
Labor rates vary WIDELY across the country depending on region, skill and experience. I don't know what the labor rate in your area is. We spent a couple hours just testing output and frequency range on the stock system before proceeding. Not counting that part, if we had to do another one, knowing what needs to be done, I'd figure about 6-7 hours total for making the rear speaker adapters, pinning the wiring in through the doors, wiring up the 4-channel amp and mono amp, plus mounting both amps, the remote bass knob and professional tuning. The equipment in this video retails for about $950 for this particular set up. I hope that helps!
Great question! No need to remove the in dash unit because it's basically like a hideaway unit and the brain of the head unit is that basic stock amp under the passenger seat. You can grab signal right there.
You’re awesome, thank you for this!My 2024 has no rear speakers Mazda 3 Hatchback
I'm so glad you found it helpful!
Thank you so much for this, been looking for info and how to add speakers to the rear doors! This video was great!

Amazing video. I don't even own a Mazda 3 but this video was so detailed and informative.
What would it cost for full car speaker upgrade
Same thing for me with a CX-30 Carbon Edition. It's suppose to have EIGHT (8) speakers in it.
Same deal in the 2020 model, thanks for the info! I added a sub and am looking to beef up the speakers and I really like your solution.

But, it's got a front sub!

my wife just bought a mazda 3 and she is complaining already so im trying to figure out what to do.
I’m trying to install a subwoofer in a Mazda 3 non Bose and I was wondering which cables to tap into the factory amp to get signal to use for the sub?
have you figured it out? same question

How much would an average upgrade cost including labor?

Great video. I assume this was a non-premium model...?
Thanks! Yes, this was a basic Mazda 3 (2.5 S Sedan) equipped with the basic 6-speaker audio system (non Bose).
Was this model with a bose system or without ?
Nice 👍🏼
How did you remove the head unit to connect the high low converter?

@@carstereochick do you have a diagram i can use so i know which wires to get from the factory amp!
