Just wanted to say I’m a huge fan of beautiful, high quality, time consuming and amazing sounding, high end or not sound systems (bc it flies when you like/love what you do)… hope you don’t mind my appreciation 👌🏼
I will never forget the Honda!! And not just that, but also the time you spend on me giving a long demo session in my opinion! Different songs (beautiful) and at the end a full throttle demo!!! It was a complete new experience that i will not forget!! Hopefully one day when i am done i will make a appointment for a huge tune session 😊
Awesome work Peter thank you for the hard work and sharing with as you also helped me to with my doors and thanks for your time don’t stop doing your thing it’s graet 💪🏼
Hey Peter Long time ago I was searching for inspiration when I was driving vectra c and I was impressed with Your great job. Now I'm driving mazda 6 only station wagon and guess what - situation repeats 😅 Great job man, these doors are impressive👏 keep on going and share some more about 🙃👍
Those doors look great! Looks somewhat similar to door pods I made for an Olds Intrigue I once owned. The map pocket/speaker grill is what I used for a form to fabricate fiberglass enclosures that fit perfect and looked OEM. Volume was too small, so made aperiotic membrane to vent them into the door. It started as a way to fit 6.5" instead of 5.25" drivers, but went way farther. It taught me the same thing you say: doors are not the best place for mb drivers.
Focal Flax, not Steg those mids :)), very nice and clean install. Especially those doorboards are very nice and fits very good to interior design of this car.
I don't like midbass in kicks, cause I like small cars, just isn't the room, especially with 3 pedals. Now those enclosures in the door I do like and mids into the dash too. I don't like bulky a pillars. I think this install only needs 2 of the amps, 1 of those subs and no rear battery.
This is the best job I’ve seen on door enclosures. I was wondering how many places did you have to bolt it to the door? Did you have to bolt it on the front and rear of the door? Were you able to get your arm back there?
Thank you! We only had 3 point at the front behind the midbass, which is perfectly enough. The end is not heavy, well the whole box is like 12-13pounds only.
Hey Peter, sorry to bother you. I just wanted to ask you're the first one I've ever seen to make Door enclosures for that car I've got the same car. I was just wondering, could you Make the door enclosures without the car. Because they're amazing and I Would like to purchase some. Thank you
Phuuu that would be tricky without the car as you have to fit rivnuts on the inner skin to mount these boxes. Fabrication could be done potentially if we bought full doors and doorcards, but cutting it out exactly on your side could lead to making mistakes too. Then on the top of that we’d also have to deal with costs. Price tag would have to start with 2 and it’s 4 digits. Would that still be appealing?
Hi Peter, nice video and very informative. I love the mid bass enclosure ❤ the way you built it and the outcome. Want to know what type of wood and thickness you used for this mid bass enclosure.
It’s built with 1/2” MDF, and filler. He mentions the width of the wood in the beginning: I’m watching this on a TV and that sure as shit doesn’t look like plywood. ;)
Hello Peter, if you have 2 minutes and I know you're a busy man! What are your thoughts on those flax 3 ways, I have one installed myself, but have this annoying persistent sibilance with shh sss sounds. Might be a reflexion issue. Love the mid bass, while it is in a door, it's a very well deadened one and midbass is going quite deep, I love it. Thank you for the content it is great!
It’s not reflection, it’s simply the fact that they need a fully active system and proper RTA tuning. Without proper EQ work, you’ll always hear the effect the environment and i can tell you that much that the tweeters surely have hot response in 3-6kHz which would need tuning.
I’ve never had the chance to hear IB Mid-bass, but I have heard an enclosured Mid-bass, like in this video, before (albeit not as impressive in design). My question if anyone who knows and is willing to answer: Which design generally sounds better if you have the ability to do either in a vehicle. (Either under seat or front fender well IB vs enclosure in door)? Thanks in advance to the person who answers this. I pick SQ everyday over SPL- it’s cool for gatherings and parties, but for my personal daily driver and the variety of music I listen to and experiment with I’d much rather have as much tonality and clear transfers between them as possible. Thanks
Ive got this question what amplifier You Will choose: BETWEEN Zapco AP or SP,Morel 45 anniversary,Mosconi Pro or Tru Technology,if i'm looking For SQL and SQ,that Will be a 4 or 6 Chanel amplifier For speakers ,and For a pair of subwoofers a monoblock or two?
Hello Peter. A big request to you: can i get a link to high quality music file of drums solo played in yellow car on EMMA Euro Finals Salzburg 2022 video?
That was done before as the midbass was in the door before, but if you start with building an enclosure, then you don’t really need dampening as the enclosure kills the vibrations.
Szia Péter! Helix q12w.t használok reflex ládában, gondolkodom hogy ki próbáljam e zártban is, csak nemtudom elégedett leszek e a hangerővel, Steg 2.03al hajtom, szerinted érdemes kipróbálnom? Nem lesz neki keves a watt? 😊
Hi Peter. What's your thoughts on this flax set vs the Kx3 set? Also how would you rate the tkmx Kx3 tweeter for an sq setup. Taking these are all in a well tuned and well installed system. Thanks.
Sealing a door is not a big deal, but making it as rigid as an enclosure is not really doable. Enclosure or true-IB for midbass mounted solidly is always more controlled and accurate than a door application.
Hi, no they’re sealed. We have a clear plexi behind the magnet of the midbass, so the frogs 🐸 inside of the door can see the speaker in action! 😄 We had to use a thin layer to gain a bit more space behind the magnet.
Focal as a whole brand vs a certain product line? This is impossible to answer. Also, we haven’t had experience with JL components, so can’t help there.
@@868imran this Focal Flex maybe the best sounding Flex in any car people may ever hear, but why? Because it was installed and tuned to the highest standard. This system will blow many mediocre installs out of the water with expensive speakers. However, expensive, better quality speakers installed and tuned properly with perform even better, but investment may only come with diminishing returns.

YES i totally agree that's the proper way to have the mids installed by the doors should be. beautifully executed!
if only i can have it in my car.
Those door pods are wild.
Great work!!
The insanity of those door speaker box builds, great marathon of a job.
This was actually a simpler option compared to other enclosures we built.

TurboSound Fabrication out of Italy makes incredible door enclosures as well… but these? Magnifique!
They make only panels as much as i see them fitting multiple speakers. Those are not enclosures.

Is the sound quality on these Helix Amps as good as class A/B amplifiers?

It plays low for sure, but it’s not our favourite on the top-end.

Would a 4th or 6th order bandpass Ported in to the Cabin be a better Option? Or would the Fixed frequency range of the box not make it a good Option?
