Just caught Lou Gramm live last night at the Kodak Center in Rochester NY with his All Stars and he rocked the house down! Standing room only. Lou's voice is the best, a true rock god, and so sweet and humble.
I was playing this song and my grandson heard it and told me man you guys had the greatest songs back then. Now he wants to listen to all of my old CDs.
Reminds me of when I listened to all of Mom's vinyl records. Mom listened to rock from the 50s to the 90s. She didn't turn away anything new. Mom was cool. She also listened to country. As far as grampa goes he really didn't do music idk why. And grandma's I couldn't get into she listened to Patsy Cline 🤮🤮🤮🤢 when Grandma put on Patsy Cline I escaped lol. Good old fun times listening to mom's records. Rock on dude. Btw I'm 49

Lou Gramm will ALWAYS be my favourite Rock vocalist! He had everything, the best range of any singer, belting out a powerful rocker, or an exquisitely beautiful ballad! Also an excellent songwriter, and added to that, had the most incredible stage presence, meaning your eyes were focused on him for the majority of the concert! In conclusion, Lou is genuinely humble and is a fantastic human being. Love you Lou, wish you the very best of health and happiness for the future!
i almost would say for sure lou grahm but one other cat is a close second and that of course mr. Don Henley of The Eagles. hotel california, witchy woman, best of my love

Late 70's /early 80's with Foreigner, Boston, Triumph, Rush, Journey, Styx, Angel, Kansas, Queen, KISS, Van Halen, Aerosmith, REO Speedwagon, Sammy Hagar and April Wine. Yeah, We didn't realize then that we were witnessing the greatest time in Rock music history and it would never be this good ever again. 40 years later these bands are still getting more airplay on radio than new songs do. That is a testament to just how good this era of music was.
Hey - stop living in the past. Look at all of the talented artists we have today...uh..well ...uh...how about..uh ...well O.K. there aren't any. Today's music is garbage. Rap? I would rather cut my wrist than listen to that. Pretty sure it is spelled CRAP, with the "C" being silent. Can't stand hearing some clueless teen driving down my street with that garbage blaring out of his shitbox toyota. Should start bringing a brick with me to help him adjust his radio. Long live rock 'n roll!
I'd be a little more generous on the time, extending the 'great' era to 1986. I really love thew New Wave era and (say) the solo music by Don Henley and Glenn Frey. Double Vision was one of Foreigner's best singles and albums. So was Head Games in '79 and '4' in 1981. Sadly, that album with 'Waiting for a Girl...' signaled the new Journey/crybaby direction the band chose to take, and lost their huge male fan base including myself, permanently. It has never changed the way I feel about the first four albums though. On a broader spectrum, we were going to enter a permanent "everything's all over with" which we've been in since about 1988. It's not just that the tap on great music was turned off then, the tap on EVERYTHING was. The 20th century had 7 remarkable decades from the 1920's-1980's which culturally (not counting the first Depression and wars) were a time of everything thriving, new ideas in clothes, hair styles, auto design and music. Everything was so sped up, especially after World War II, the following decades you could almost pinpoint year by year. And if it wasn't the year you guessed, you'd only be off by a year or two. For example, you had the early, mid and later sections of the '50s, 60's, 70's and '80s. What no one realized then (and you kind of hit on it) is that it was finite. Everything, all the good ideas, were all used up----for good; never to return. In 1920 Americans weren't looking back to the 1860's-1880's musically or in most other ways. The very idea is ridiculous. Today we have the opposite situation. We have all of this tech, tech, tech that's "replaced" everything I mentioned. There's no fun anymore (and I mean WELL before the pandemic). The automotive products of ANY era are a reflection of the time they're produced. With rare, rare exceptions today's vehicles are boring 4-door sedan rental cars, ugly crossovers, SUV's and trucks. That's it. You don't really need to wonder what they're going to be like in 20 years. The way people dress will be the same, music will continue to be gospel/crybaby elongating all of the vowels shit, just like the past 25+ years. Anyone who passed away 30+ years ago, hasn't missed out on anything but tech overkill, mass shootings (which I predict will be worse than ever starting soon) stress and misery. Think that pretty much sums it up!

YEA , they didn't start out as a soft rock band more or less. But that is the way some of the band members wanted to go , and probably their record company. I saw Foreigner in 1980. It was one of the first concerts I saw. April Wine and Rick Derringer were the opening acts. 44 years later and it seems like yesterday. Foreigner was great but it was that night that I realized Rick Derringer is one of the greatest guitarists in history. I still feel that way. The 1970's and early 80's were awful if you lived anywhere other than suburbia. NYC and Chicago are practically Disneyland compared to the living nightmares they were back then, most major cities were a terrifying place to live and rural areas were so far removed from civilization that you likely would've missed out on the highlights the average person associates with the time period. Don't forget this was an era where the violent crime rates, domestic abuse, child abuse and abduction were the highest in US history.

Foreigner had some of the biggest rock hits of the late seventies. You could fill a double album with all the hits and should-have-been hits from like a 5 year period and put it up against Journey, Toto, Bad Company, Boston… Yet they seem to get overlooked by the music press when this genre & era comes up. I mean they do get a mention…but to me, they’re the best of the lot (Journey is close).
The more I listen to Turning Back The Time the better it gets. This could be a Billboard Top 40 Hit so Foreigner Fans, blow the fuckin internet up on this song.
Fill my eyes with that double vision No disguise for that double vision Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me My double vision gets the best of me
Musicians had all around talent back then , lyrics, vocals, instrumental , showmanship and performance . I grew up in THE GOLDEN AGE , and I'm so grateful . love and peace to all of you out there.
Feeling down n' dirty, feeling kinda mean I've been from one to another extreme This time I had a good time, ain't got time to wait I want to stick around till I can't see straight Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me My double vision gets the best of me Never do more than I really need My mind is racing, but my body's in the lead Tonight's the night, I'm gonna push it to the limit I live all of my years in a single minute Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me My double vision always seems to get the best of me, the best of me, yeah Ooh, double vision, I need my double vision It takes me out of my head, takin' me out of my head I get my double vision, oh, seeing double double Oh, I have double vision, (oh double vision) yeah Oh I'm getting double vision

No shortage of talent and hair👍
Also, there is no shortage of cocaine!
Check it out....NO MAKE-UP & NOT COVERED IN TATTOS!!!!
Lou and Steve both are the standard to which others could only hope to become half as good
No Auto-tune here! Just pure talent! This is how it's done boys and girls!😎✌️❤️
what's so bad about autotune my guy? I feel like autotune gets too much of a bad rep dwag
so much true. todays music is such a noisy electronic garbage
Agreed. No one can sing without enhancement anymore. Probably because they're not really singers ?
@@cajunmane7272 because you skipped thousands of hours of practice to sound good. Instead of failing over and over again first. You know. Like life;)
@@cajunmane7272 It's just computer enhanced garbage with no passion. Real singing has grit. Same with all those MIDI instruments that are so perfect they are not unique.
Underated
I'm 57 years old, this was my favorite song at the time - and this is the first time I've seen this video.
Nice mate! Enjoy it!
Crazy...i am also 57 (just turned) and this was once my favorite song, annnnnd, this is the first time seeing this video!...lol
@@blinderII Crazy, right? As popular as this song was, you'd think we would have seen the video.
Foreigner was the shit back in the 70s and 80s
Really awesome rock song from an great band.
Hello fellow Buffalo Bills fan!
@@footofthunder9763 Double vision got the best of Josh Allen. Sorry…couldn’t resist. And I like the Bills!
Wie toll❤ Wie schön, diese Gemeinsamkeit. Man sieht die Freude in ihren Gesichtern. Schade das es vorbei ist.Aber die Erinnerung bleibt❤❤❤
I mean they do get a mention…but to me, they’re the best of the lot (Journey is close).
amazing guitars
Lou Gram has that Robert Plant Look, ,, .... Pretty AWESOME!!!!
He kinda does, lol. 😄
A little. He's much prettier and much sweeter and cuter!
American Robert Plant
The more I listen to Turning Back The Time the better it gets. This could be a Billboard Top 40 Hit so Foreigner Fans, blow the fuckin internet up on this song.
Lou Gramm looks here like Robert Plant.
Magnificient voice.
Fill my eyes with that double vision
No disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me
My double vision gets the best of me
Lou Gramm! He’s from my hometown Rochester NY!! ( or as we call it: Rock-chester!).
Great Friday evening jam.
Lou always gets the best of me. ❤
So glad I was there when Foreigner came to fruition! Saw them several times in concert- the best music from the best times!
Musicians had all around talent back then , lyrics, vocals, instrumental , showmanship and performance . I grew up in THE GOLDEN AGE , and I'm so grateful . love and peace to all of you out there.
Feeling down n' dirty, feeling kinda mean
I've been from one to another extreme
This time I had a good time, ain't got time to wait
I want to stick around till I can't see straight
Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me
My double vision gets the best of me
Never do more than I really need
My mind is racing, but my body's in the lead
Tonight's the night, I'm gonna push it to the limit
I live all of my years in a single minute
Fill my eyes with that double vision, no disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me
My double vision always seems to get the best of me, the best of me, yeah
Ooh, double vision, I need my double vision
It takes me out of my head, takin' me out of my head
I get my double vision, oh, seeing double double
Oh, I have double vision, (oh double vision) yeah
Oh I'm getting double vision
Thanks,Matthew ❤️

All I want to go back to the best of times. We are truly in the worst of times. Listening to music soothes the soul for sure. The 70's and some 80's will always live in infamy .Long live Rock n Roll !!
Saw Foreigner on a bill with Aerosmith; headliner, AC/DC, VanHalen, Pat Travers. Foreigner was great. A class act. They cared about their sound and music. They really gave us a great show. One of the most memorable. Great band.
Mick is Sooooo gorgeous in this one! Luv the whole band & this awesome song! U guys Rock!!
The best vocalist foreigner Lou gram
