Journey, with Steve Perry as their lead singer, was the best thing to ever to happen to music! Most people don't realize they wrote a lot of their own music including the words to their songs! Absolutely the most talented group ever!

It’s not Journey without Steve
Robert Fleishman wrote this song when he was the lead singer briefly.
I wish we had more bands like journey today...
James Smith good luck i believe in you
One would be nice.
River Barbely Great you know what's good!
Megachuggayoshi we do.
we might Dolly the sheep didn't work, they're gunna try cloning Steve Perry next
Been binging Journey lately. Steven Perry has a voice that is unmatched!!!
LONG LIVE THE 70S AND 80S.... If you were alive you know what I mean!
I'm 17 and I know what you mean😎🤟
Absolute magicians in the 80s.
@@walterkentriley9829 Florida
What about 90s? TT
@@Itsmemavie Early 90s but not as much as the 80s.
This is the original Journey. Got to see them five times. 1978 to 1982.👍👍👍
... at 2:20 when Steve expertly sucks all that extra air in him to get ready for the sweetest of notes we all talk about...2:28-2:42. 14 seconds of a note that makes you cry, even weep. Is it the guitar? Is it human? No, it's Steve Perry. Ahh, the perfection. He killed that note. Best. Song. Ever. 🙌
All this time @2:20 I thought he was having a musical climax over Neal Schon's guitar playing. Didn't know he was sucking in air or doing that extremely beautiful note. WOW.
I was wondering if anyone else heard that musical perfection. Pure ecstasy!!!
I'm thrilled that I'm not the only one that noticed this!!! Absolutely amazing and this is why Steve is one of the greatest vocalists in Arena rock!!! 💜💜 I've seen Journey but unfortunately without Steve...😔😔 🐧🐧
@Karen Gebhard I counted 20sec!!! Either way very few people can do that!!! A gift from God!!! I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed day my friend and please stay safe!!! 🙂🙂 🤗🤗 🐧🐧
@@slamecatzwell5544 ROFLMAO.. no one could have said it better.
This is definitely one of those songs to have on your playlists.
Heck ya. I have it on two playlists and my dad downloaded it on his phone. 😁😁😁
This man was born to sing !
I grew up in the 70s and those people were CRAZY. I didn’t do any of the crazy things they did, and I’m glad.
I made it to 2024 and I’m still riding a 33 speed mountain bike and running a mile just as I did when I was twelve.
Mothers day 2024.Serenading my wife with some classic Journey(Perry) 🎸.Full blast 🎵🎶.
Can Tell What A Good Husband You Are !! Congratulations !!
For me still the most amazing male voice EVER !!!!!!
The way he modulates his voice when he’s next to Neil Schon is just mind blowing to me!!! LOVE IT!!
His voice is smooth as honey❤😮
Steve has an incredible voice. Gives me chills. Amazing singer❤️
He was my favorite 👍
Do you dislike Ariel...the current lead singer? They could sell out stadium's if Steve came back
I also am 63 years old and still listen to them
They were my workout band I lived to listen to them and dance to them my workout with journey was 3 to 4 days a weak
I love Steve Perry
I’m disappointed in the band for this reason
Steve Perry was the one who made the band with his beautiful and unique voice
Also how made the band famous and he made the band rich
So why couldn’t they bring him back in some way
The band has forgotten
Steve Perry made the band successful
Made the band famous
Made the band a household name we use to sing their songs on the school bus on the way home from a basketball game and never forgot a lyric
The members of the band had to some how c knowledge Steve Perry again because he was that made the band and made them famous and made them a success and made them ruch
To the members of the band
You forget when you band Journey sucked until your manager called him up and made him the lead singer
I members of the band I find disrespectful to Steve and abandoned him.
Restore Steve Perry now and you will make a fortune
Make your fans happy the ones who pay to listen to attend to concerts dance to and work out to
I’m a fan and you all disappointed me and I’m sure other fans
music like this will never die out no matter what year we are in !
Neal Schon on guitar, WOW! Him and Steve Perry's magical "vocal" guitar harmony part at 2:27 is magnificent - kimie
You are Forgetting Greg Rollie as he has has the Strongest Harmonies
Neal Schon and Gregg Rolie with Steve Perry are beyond compare!!!
Mind blowing vocal with the guitar...no one can do that
I agree you can see Steve getting his voice ready for about 4 seconds before he goes into that note. The Golden Voice of Steve Perry.
@@timwatersondrummer - There is a version of this song that has Rollie singing and it doesn't even sound like the same song, Rollie's version sounds like a teenage band banging the crap out of their instruments in mom's garage. Perry did an awesome job of cleaning this song up and sending it up the charts.
Yes! Those of us who were there back then!
I'm 58 and there is no music today like the 70s, 80s, some 60s.i remember always have to have music playing wherever we were. Not today. I can only name a handful of today's bands at best. I was so lucky to be born when I was.
100 Yes's to this!! Will still include the 90's but then I stop. I cannot stand listening or watching today's music. Pure rubbish! Worst is, they do not work nearly as hard as the old artists did, yet make millions more. Rather sad.
I'm only in my mid 30s and agree with this. 70s, 80s and some of the 60s stuff is great.
How has this song/his voice not been voted #1 forever?!?!?❤❤❤
DAMN!!! Nobody can deny, that Perry had one hell of a set of vocals! I grew up in the late 80's & early 90's! And, I am still here, in 2018 listening to this! Along with others, of course! But, the 80's & 90's were the best for music & movies! And, only those who lived then, can truly understand what I am talkin about!
Hell yeah!
every generation has their good points
Keep rocking brother 😎
@Batphink Reynolds my generation was summer of 1969 wood stock simply the best ! followed by 1970s 1980s 1990s great great music and great great voices great great music videos great great tours and sold out concerts performers that have left us to early r.i.p. and performers that are still playing out there great great music in 2019 thank you . we wish we could step in to a time machine and go back to better times and safer times and all enjoy those great great memories !
@@barrylonyai1530 and now we have soundcloud rappers, mumbling about coughing syrup...I'm jealous of you, for growing up in the 70s
His voice live today is truly missed by me👍💯❤
There will never be a voice like his.... He had a powerful voice.... We love you Steve.❤️❤️❤️❤️
He still has a powerful voice...check out ' Traces',& look forward to upcoming Christmas album!😁😘💕
Steve Perry was good but not as good as Geoff Tate of Queensryche.
Perry’s vocals are untouchable! I just never get enough!

I hate you! Lol!
Wheels In The Sky is a masterpiece that takes us back to the 80s and never wants to go back.
Still one of my absolute favorite Journey songs! Steve's vocals are unmatchable to this day. He will always be 'The Voice'!
That's what makes him truly special.
By the way, did you know it was Jon Bon Jovi who first called him that?
It's what I recently had heard.
👍
Once in a lifetime voice. Still impressive in 2019.
I can’t believe I’ve just noticed for the first time Steve hitting that note during the guitar solo. Dude truly is incredible
Thanks for bringing that to my attention! You are correct.
This is the best lineup in rock n roll history. I wish they could've found a way to keep it together.
I don’t know what it is about Steve’s voice but it is like heaven. I don’t know how else to describe it ♥️🌈❤️
You are so lucky that he sang a song about you haha

Good one
One of the best rock voices ever!
At 2:30 when you realize that that note you hear is his voice. Amazing!

I’ve been a huge fan of this song since the early 80’s and had no idea till this moment that that was his voice!!! Unbelievable ....
Yeah, all these years I thought it was the guitar making that sound. Steve Perry is a badass!!
Brad Delp could do it if were still with us
@@donaldgalardi9813 Bless his heart. Gone too soon.
I was trying out some vintage stereo equipment last night and played this song, listening carefully. When I heard that part, I thought, "Holy sh*t, is that him?" I had to come here today to confirm. Unbelievable!
I was in the FOX Theater in ATLANTA at the JOURNEY CONCERT,opened by BROWNSVILLE STATION,smokin in the boys room, wow @ wow.Never forget it.

I'm 17 i discovered Journey when i was 13 been a fan ever since
Steve Perry's Voice will never end.
Journey, with Steve Perry as their lead singer, was the best thing to ever to happen to music! Most people don't realize they wrote a lot of their own music including the words to their songs! Absolutely the most talented group ever!
@@BenjaminGriffel-ix8he 😂😂😂
Rush and Van Halen are/were awesome 😎
Most rock bands back then did
Yup steve perry definitely not that knock off guy jow a days
Musicians back then were cut from a different cloth I don't know what's going on with current musicians today but more and more I find myself only listening to The bands of old.
Happy birthday Steve 🎉 . Love this song.
Steve’s vocals in this are just fantastic.
This is a great song for driving day or night along with DON'T STOP BELIEVING!!
@ Chris Baker I watched one of those top ten songs that people are tired of listening to and they had "Don't Stop Believing" as the number one song and "Pour Some Sugar On Me"...that shoulda been #1 and Journey no where on the list!!! I have no idea who they asked but they have no taste in music!!! I used to blast both in the car and now it's just Journey and I'll listen to Def Leppard if it's their old stuff. I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed day my friend and please stay safe!!! 🙂🙂 🤗🤗 🐧🐧
Steve Perry made Journey - his voice is 2nd to none - a treasure he is - complete gentlemen - writes the music and professional
No doubt to me, that Steve Perry's singing voice is what made Journey famous... they can be blessed they had Steve Perry.
There will never be another Steve Perry. I also love the lyrics to this incredible song!
Steve Perry definitely made Journey. Best voice ever..♥️♥️♥️
@Steve Perry Wow, look it's 2023 AI Steve Perry!! 😂🤣
Such a good song. Music like this can never be topped. 👍
Eh he's not the best of the best. Yeah, his voice is amazing. But there will always be someone better. Excluding now
Nothing that has been made these days will never top music from the old days and thats a fact.
