I’ve never seen this (early version of) video - so very 1978 / bright shiny Disco era (tho Foreigner isn’t “Disco” ) . I was 7 , then, but my memories of the times is a crazy mix of cultural advertising fonts, clothing/hair styles , shows etc…. It was a great time coming up as a 70’s kid . Videos like this take me back.
They were never underated! Foreigner was one of the 1980s supergroups. Wildly popular and Lou was considered one of the best voices in rock back then! He will always be on my top five list.
This is for sure of of the dopest bands from the 80s. Dude had such a unique ans powerful voice. They had the rock and the ballads on lock. And hey the lyrics are still valid AF even today .
I agree I’ll be 55 next month. My brother who was 4 years older than me got me into loving their music. He passed nearly 4 years ago. I have some of his foreigner cd’s I will always treasure. ❤️❤️❤️

In October of 1979 I moved into my first apartment with my best friend and this album was the sound track to our non stop parties, etc... What a time to be 18 and out on your own!!!

I agree. It's not complicated. It's not real flashy but it's not long enough! Just outstanding singing and a perfect melody to catch the rock and roll exasperation about relationships lol the song I always correlate Foreigner with - the best.

My favorite Foreigner song of all. Saw these guys with Billy Squier at the Rosemont Horizon (Chicago) in November of 1981. All these decades later, it's still one of the best rock concerts I've ever seen.

I've seen Foreigner twice. Once with Lou Gramm, once without. Kelly what's his name was okay. Lou Grsmm was the voice of Foreigner hands down. Hopefully if they get into the R & R hall of fame, he'll get his due.
Lou Gramm is a monster! What a delicious voice he has. It is interesting to think that some are born with a gift like that. I wish that I had been born with a voice like Lou's. His voice has that perfect blend of: raspy, velvety, the perfect timbre/range- he can hit the low no and high notes with great ease, he also has the perfect amount of vibrato - phenomenal singer!
I didn't notice it at first but foreigner is pretty much the best band of the mid 70's. Did exactly what they were meant to with an undisputable effect. If they chose a wide variety of topics for songs they'd be undisputed. I don't buy this premise that sales equal quality
Head Games did very well considering that the album and singles were banned from stations and record stores for being too racy at the time and other midconceptions.. otherwise probably would have been top 5 song
One of Foreigner's best songs, I always thought Foreigner really kicked ass on their early albums, too bad Head Games had to be the last album to feature Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood.

Even the female band The Pussycat Dolls thinks highly of themselves by having that 2005 song called Don't Cha, so they surely show that they think highly of themselves with that song. If it's OK for women to be that way, then it should be OK for men to be that way.

This is the first band I ever saw live, 12 or 13 years old, and a girl from school invited me with her parents! I love live music and never looked back. I just bought the 7cd foreigner box set and I'm cruising through memories. Nothing like foreigner LIVE!! Still listening today
I met this wonderful band through the supernatural series with the song "cold is ace" and again played in one of the best Cobra Kay series, Viva Foreigner.
Auto-tune cannot improve this vocal performance. His voice is amazing, expressive, powerfully brassy when he wants it to be, and perfectly tuned. Talent like this is for the most part no longer necessary, and therefore is for the most part no longer seen.

@@kristiboyce9035 Words like narcissistic could just be an excuse for the woman to not stay with the guy anymore. Women think well of themselves as well. Women act like that as well, and yet they're still good enough to men anyway, so men should still be good enough to women anyway even if they act that way. Also, it's better for someone to think highly of themselves than for them to think lowly of themselves. Women walk around acting like they're super great people, so it should be OK for men to be that way as well. You and your female friends have probably been the same way that you mentioned men being in your comment here.
Also, you said back when music wasn't about getting and partying? You're mistaken. The 1980s rock band Poison was that way. They had songs like Nothing But A Good Time, Unskinny Bop, and Look What The Cat Dragged in, and many others, and songs about those things are fine, and even their 20 year anniversary 2006 song American Band was that way, and there have been other 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s rock bands that have also been that way. Even the female band The Pussycat Dolls thinks highly of themselves by having that 2005 song called Don't Cha, so they surely show that they think highly of themselves with that song. If it's OK for women to be that way, then it should be OK for men to be that way.

This is the first band I ever saw live, 12 or 13 years old, and a girl from school invited me with her parents! I love live music and never looked back. I just bought the 7cd foreigner box set and I'm cruising through memories. Nothing like foreigner LIVE!! Still listening today

I met this wonderful band through the supernatural series with the song "cold is ace" and again played in one of the best Cobra Kay series, Viva Foreigner.

Auto-tune cannot improve this vocal performance. His voice is amazing, expressive, powerfully brassy when he wants it to be, and perfectly tuned. Talent like this is for the most part no longer necessary, and therefore is for the most part no longer seen.
