You can always negotiate! Ask them the lowest price. With all this stuff going on they aren't going to fill all the units they were expecting, and therefore you have more persuasive power.
Lauren Harris this is true! Most places are offerings one or two months free instead of lowering the total rent price, but I have seen some reductions on apartments.com 😊
I am moving August 1 and I don’t get an incentive or rates reductions. I do get half price the rent in January, but that’s it. I wish they’d give reductions

lol @ the compass. If you know where the Willamette is then you'll be able to find West/East. Takes some time. Looks like you're only exploring the West side? East side is where it's at imo. Have you looked in the NW though? I first lived in the Lloyd District but am now in the Richmond neighborhood. Good luck!

It's so cool to see a local town on TH-cam! Have you toured any apartments in person in Portland? When I was searching for an apartment last year in St. Johns, I thought 500sq ft would be plenty of space for me and my boyfriend. The layouts and pictures look so good online, then you actually see the space with your eyes and they're SO small. If you're living by yourself though, it would probably be ok! I wish rent prices were the same as the times when our parents were our ages haha
Ugh I know what I would give for cheaper rent, but still amazing amenities 😂 I am waiting for buildings to open again for tours, but most are closed due to the virus. I'm not in a crazy rush, so I'm doing my research now and hopefully by the time I narrow it down to my top apartments I can see them in person :)

Idk if it’s the same in your car, but for mine with the seats you usually have to be in park, but you set the seat where you want it and then hold the 1,2,or 3. Mine beeps so I’m assuming yours would too. Also yessss for portlanders!!!

My apartment now has a whole wall of windows, but the back part where the "bedroom" is, is super dark. The lounge end where the windows are, isn't actually super bright here during spring, winter or autumn/fall. It's only super nice in summertime.

Careful on locked garages, it doesn't always mean your car is safe! A good friend lived downtown and had access to a locked garage but their car was still broken into! I'm talking about Portland, as well, so same people.
You should look into Buckman area there’s a lot of restaurant’s , bars and cafés and young life all around. I heard during the month of October rent goes down.
