    The screen on the sensor can be cleaned and there is also an additional screen in the sump of the compressor that can clog and cause oil pressure safety to trip. Its a pain in the ass trying to clean the sump screen especially since the compressor is not elevated at all so draining and cleaning that screen will cause a big mess

    I know that you know your stuff and i have changed many oil sensors over the years, one thing i would say is judging by the colour of the oil and the condition of the strainer, I would have changed the oil, then we all know how hard it is to convince the customer to spend the extra money.

    • @Cscrefandhvac
      @Cscrefandhvac  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I did recommend that the oil should be changed. Who knows if they will do it though haha

  • @hvac01453
    @hvac01453 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The only criticism I would have is, you still have the underlying problem. You fixed the symptom but not the cause. Don’t you think an oil change and a couple of cleanup dryers are in order? It’s evident to me, your predecessor secured this piping with the benefit of nitrogen. That oil was contaminated. Now you have a nice new sensor that has enough room to collect dirt and your back to square one. I mean you already had the system pumped down. I did one last week at Hanscom and cleared he sight glass, it didn’t take that long to do. Like yours, the oil was dirty... Mine was r22 low temp with demand cooling also... now that’s a trip.

  • @deanmohamed7575

    Good videos on these semihermetics. But the let down is the vacuum part. How do you vacuum out the heads of these compressors when you have the discharge and suction valves front seated?

    • @samho9318
      @samho9318 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When both valves are front seat, you are completely isolated or block off the compressor from suction and discharge pipe. BUT your gauge port are now open to the crankcase/ head. Verify all valve are hold no leaks- by then just follow with your normal evacuation. Also one thing you have to remember is to install the service gauge before you preform the above procedure. Hope this helpful. I am still learning 🇺🇸

    11:21 - The only question I have is how it was decided to change the control on this job. We know that a control system depends on the integrity of the sensors. You proved the sensor was faulty so, was there something else happening in the system that was not discussed that would lead to condemning the controller? I know you said the customer wanted it changed; but, I’d be too curious not to understand how that was diagnosed.

    • @Cscrefandhvac
      @Cscrefandhvac  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That new sensor comes in the box with a new controller all as one so that's why the control was changed also.

      C Lilly I wouldn’t say it’s too old to start but I will say you will have a lot to learn . But if you are willing to work hard and learn then you should be ok. But it’s takes many years also to get into really knowing how a system works. But this trade can use any level of person as long as your willing to work and learn

      I got an AAS degree in HVACR back in '89 but never went in to the field. Two years ago got the EPA certificate and have been doing in house refrigeration at the facility where I've been F&B purchasing for years. At 58 years old will I ever get as good as these lifetime trades guys? Doubtful, but I'm enjoying fixing broken things more than dealing with broken people and ready to make the change.

    I’m about to do one today (first time). Is it necessary to pump down the unit into the receiver? Or, can I just close the suction and discharge valves and recover what’s left in the compressor? I’m asking because I’ve never pumped down a system like this for a walk in freezer
