    So unfortunate that we're always put in a position of going behind people who either don't know or don't care about what they're doing. I feel like it's becoming a superpower having the ability to locate and correct hack work. Great video 👍🏾

      The reason we are seeing this is a lot of companies are hiring a bunch of low paid low skilled guys and then a couple of really good high paid guys.
      They send the low skilled guys on most calls and when it comes to bigger issues they can’t fix or mess it up worse then they send in the ringers.

      Yep, you nailed it. We don’t need a bunch of doctors we just need some EMTs or paramedics then add that with the worker crisis that we have no one’s willing to clean house because they wouldn’t have anybody then

    I like to always spray bubble the leak before touching it to actually visualize how big the leak is. The stratus is so sensitive if can look bigger than it is. It’s just so I’m confident I found the main leak.

    Hey Rick, long time fan of your videos! Always learning a ton. This video hit home for me, I work on industrial split systems like this all the time. I just wanted to comment on your suction service valve, not sure if you're aware but they make a wrench that has larger square openings than the one you pictured. I think it's the Yellow Jacket 60615 vs. the one I'm assuming you have which is the Yellow Jacket 60618. Keep up the good work! This is the first TH-cam channel I like to recommend when people ask.

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Awesome, thank you! The wrench is the longer handle version. The actual squares are the traditional size.

Do need to get an crescent torque wrench for all the self contained cases that I work on, for the quick connect line sets. Always love your refrigeration content.

    I see you built a pretty good channel. Good job, man! I'm trying myself to do the same. Looks like you're using a GoPro, Maybe? How's that work for you? Your audio sounds really clear over the disportion of the compressors. I'm planning to get something like that, I just don't know anything about them or what models still look at.

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m using the medium mod which allows the microphone to shoot towards me and away from the noise. If you use the GoPro without it, then you’re gonna have worse audio. The GoPro does a good job keeping yourself mobile and able to do your job like normal but the picture quality in low light and up close is not as clear as cell phone.

    I know that’s not a HeatCraft unit looks like Russel but
    Cycling the fan closet to the header is a big No No
    The intermediate header is not designed for the wild swings in pressure and temperature and it will start leaking at your tube-sheets
    This is HeatCraft Literature
    When factory fan cycle switches are installed they never cycling the #1 fan
    Take it or leave it just letting you know
    Thanks for the videos love your channel Rick

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So are you saying this design in particular is designed for the second fan or all systems? because I know I have read that it’s usually the fan closest to the header.

    Nice thorough job, Rick! Poor practices will get ya every time, smh. I see the same crap with basically every king valve, loosening, and then tightening the packing nut is not that damn hard, seals in caps and nylog, no leaks, no dumb service calls, easy peasy.

    • @HVACRSurvival
      @HVACRSurvival  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m guilty of not loosening the packing but I also believe it’s likely damaged more often room over tightening.
