So unfortunate that we're always put in a position of going behind people who either don't know or don't care about what they're doing. I feel like it's becoming a superpower having the ability to locate and correct hack work. Great video 👍🏾
The reason we are seeing this is a lot of companies are hiring a bunch of low paid low skilled guys and then a couple of really good high paid guys. They send the low skilled guys on most calls and when it comes to bigger issues they can’t fix or mess it up worse then they send in the ringers.
Yep, you nailed it. We don’t need a bunch of doctors we just need some EMTs or paramedics then add that with the worker crisis that we have no one’s willing to clean house because they wouldn’t have anybody then
I like to always spray bubble the leak before touching it to actually visualize how big the leak is. The stratus is so sensitive if can look bigger than it is. It’s just so I’m confident I found the main leak.
I can't believe those units run at all being in that state. You are really good at finding and fixing the leaks. Keep up the great work. Thanks for making this video.
Be in a while use to watch you and your wife . Good to see found leaks yeah 1/4 flare cap and 1/4 flare gaskets on the high side. Nice leak detector. Moved to Oregon from New Jersey working in a Data center 266 Krac Units two contractors give my body a break maybe my gouges are hung up? Be safe bro!😊
I bought some open end adapters for my torque wrench for those hard to reach or its too tight for a conventional with a socket. Bought em off Amazon....cool video as always Rick
Hey Rick, long time fan of your videos! Always learning a ton. This video hit home for me, I work on industrial split systems like this all the time. I just wanted to comment on your suction service valve, not sure if you're aware but they make a wrench that has larger square openings than the one you pictured. I think it's the Yellow Jacket 60615 vs. the one I'm assuming you have which is the Yellow Jacket 60618. Keep up the good work! This is the first TH-cam channel I like to recommend when people ask.
Good stuff Rick! I have the Pittsburgh torque wrench also and works very well. I don’t use it often so couldn’t see spending a ton on one. Do need to get an crescent torque wrench for all the self contained cases that I work on, for the quick connect line sets. Always love your refrigeration content.
I see you built a pretty good channel. Good job, man! I'm trying myself to do the same. Looks like you're using a GoPro, Maybe? How's that work for you? Your audio sounds really clear over the disportion of the compressors. I'm planning to get something like that, I just don't know anything about them or what models still look at.
I’m using the medium mod which allows the microphone to shoot towards me and away from the noise. If you use the GoPro without it, then you’re gonna have worse audio. The GoPro does a good job keeping yourself mobile and able to do your job like normal but the picture quality in low light and up close is not as clear as cell phone.
I know that’s not a HeatCraft unit looks like Russel but Cycling the fan closet to the header is a big No No The intermediate header is not designed for the wild swings in pressure and temperature and it will start leaking at your tube-sheets This is HeatCraft Literature When factory fan cycle switches are installed they never cycling the #1 fan Take it or leave it just letting you know Thanks for the videos love your channel Rick
So are you saying this design in particular is designed for the second fan or all systems? because I know I have read that it’s usually the fan closest to the header.
Nice thorough job, Rick! Poor practices will get ya every time, smh. I see the same crap with basically every king valve, loosening, and then tightening the packing nut is not that damn hard, seals in caps and nylog, no leaks, no dumb service calls, easy peasy.
In all seriousness, i have had more things fail for seemingly no reason. (im talking phones/other tech, tools, appliances etc) in the last couple of years that was manufactured during covid times. Than i had for about the 10 years leading upto 2020. Its just crazy how poor stuff was made during that time
Hey man I'm nobody. Did you get the problem fixed. I watch this other guy. Hvacr videos. He works on smaller s***. It might help you out or it might not

@@HVACRSurvivalI had a boss tell me "what if we train them and they leave" and I said "what if we don't and they stay"
Ooooo shit! SNAP 👍👍👍🫶🫶

Thanks for the feedback and the visit! 👍
Why would being in Ohio a reason for them not to work?

I bet that’s a change of pace. Thanks for saying hi. Have a great week!
Good job Rick, I like your new commercial adventures.
Thanks John! Have a great week!

Good job! I can't believe the compressor is 1 yr. old remanufactured
Great job Rick. Leak city old equipment lol.
Great work man. Learning a lot. You crack me up with you rambling and sarcastic comments 😂😂😂😂😂 Keep it up.
Thanks, will do!
Amazing 👏 craftsmanship 👏 Very thorough and great Tech 👍 👌
Glad you liked it! Thanks for your support!🤜🤛

Awesome, thank you! The wrench is the longer handle version. The actual squares are the traditional size.
Nice job brother crazy how loose those head bolts were.
Great call Rick. Very thorough as usual.
I have the same set of crescent wrench’s. Had them now 4 years still the best pair I ever had.
The Bacho?
@@HVACRSurvival the one you used at 5:15 not sure if its the same brand but they look exactly the same. got mine at a United Refrigeration
Yeah that’s Bacho, they’re made in Spain. They are a division of snap on.

Awesome video Rick, Leak Master at work, good thing the leaks were outside. Druggies and laziness got the bolts half way there. 😂😂😂😂
My wife yelled at me for leaving that in there. That’s nothing compared to what I normally say. It’s not like saying that but it’s freaking true.
Excellent fix rick👍
I want a refer detector like that😳
Nice work Rick.

Thanks for checking it out!
Dude is smart as hell but can’t say the word pressure without adding a Y 😂. Preysure. Seriously though good shit Rick you the man
That’s the first time that’s been said. 🤣. I’m always hearing something new.

I’m guilty of not loosening the packing but I also believe it’s likely damaged more often room over tightening.
Great video 🍻
Thank you!
Carlyle had the same problem with covid Compressors. They wouldn't even last the start up without grounding out
Interesting...Most cold food processor plants or cold storage warehouses usually have an refrigeration tech on their payroll.
😂 We’re there all the time.
love this leak detector, have 3 different, but this is best.
can you recommend good hoses?
mine leaking on valves even new(hilmor)
Yellow jacket like the ones in the video I’ll release today are the longest lasting I’ve had.
@@HVACRSurvival did you use refco hoses?
No I haven’t. There not sold here

cast iron is porus so to have a seap is not a surprise
"job assurance" cap and leaking valve. lol
Look up copeland torque spec and look at the Emerson bulletin
Sorry. I commented to soon.
😀✌️✌️
Give me Leibert, or give me death.
They fuss about maintaining a clean environment on the inside.......then you see the state of that lift. 😧
Unfortunately, that was one of our lifts lol that one was kind of beat up. We’ve got quite a few of them.

😉 Yep I know Chris well. We have each other’s phone number.
I just wanted to let you know that.. and I appreciate.
758 thumbs uP
I've never had much success tightening bolts , the absolute pain is when you tighten up a bit and its makes it even worse than it was 😅
I know what you mean. We will see😁✌️
Nice job as usual Rickster ... Thx
