- I'm sport riding on Kawasaki's 1981 KZ1000 CSR (LTD with spoked wheels). With the motor from Kawasaki's KZ1000J, chain-drive, and a slick-shifting 5-speed transmission, Kawasaki's KZ1000 CSR is a blast to ride. Awesome 4-into-1 Delkevic exhaust sound and beautiful Pennsylvania roads!

I absolutely love the way old 80s Kawi's sound
Right on, me too!
I hope the people living on your route appreciate these wonderful classics rolling by. 🙌
Me too. I try not to rip it up most of the time 😉. There was a sportbike with an obnoxious exhaust absolutely hauling past my house (repeatedly) at about midnight last night. I don't want to be THAT guy!
I think this is the best sounding big four ever.
It is intoxicating!
Yup

At the Bathurst Australia motorcycle races a guy with a Z outfit would do dirt donuts and rev the living crap out of a Z900. The 4:1 exhaust would glow red and the motor was unburstable. What a great night.
Thanks for starting my Saturday morning off the right way! Sweet sounds.
Right on Jeff!
Wearing headphones so as to not wake the missus. Sound is amazing.
Right on!
I own & ride , 06 VFR, 96 GL1500 Goldwing, before those two , I owned a CSR650, It took some patient , and a MAC header to get her right, Absolutely an awesome machine!
Very cool Joseph! Those are all cool bikes.
Well that was fun and brings back good old memories from the 80s and 90s when I owned two similar to this one... First I had a 1980 LTD 1000 and years later found a 1978 LTD 1000.
Very cool! I'm finishing up a 1978 LTD 1000 currently (lots of videos of that project on the channel if you didn't already see).
Very nice bike and sound. You have really nice roads for motorcycling. Enjoyed the video Jon and RIDE SAFE OUT THERE!
Thanks Henry!
Man I miss my 79 kz1000
Right on!
OH YEAH !!
Right on!
Sounds great! As always great upload Jon!
Thanks Russ!
Sounds like it will get down!😮
That it will! Cheers
Hi Jon; Sometimes it is hard to believe these old two-valve per cylinder engines rev up to its 8500rpm redline so easily. It is very easy to have a preconception that modern 4 valve per cylinder engines will have a nicer engine sound than the outdated old 2 valve per cylinder engines; listening to your KZ1000 with 2 valve cylinder engine, it's amazing how great these engines sound, may be it sounds even better than the new 4 valve engines.
By the way I always admire the roads and the location in wich you ride your motorcycles. Beatiful country roads with almost no traffic per se. It's Philadelphia right? It reminds me of Tifton Georgia where I used to stay when I studied at the college.
Thank you for uploading great videos everytime. I also like the positioning of the onboard camera. Some people place the camera on their helmets, this makes the video very annoying to watch because every movement of the rider's head result in the pictures jolting from one place to another.
Thank you! I also love the sound of the vintage bikes. I'm amazed by the difference in sound between the Kawasakis and Suzukis - I can't decide which one I like better. Even the different generations of KZ1000 sound different from one another. This second-gen KZ1000 revs much quicker than the first-gen bikes. It's fun to experience the difference and to share the experience through the videos. Enjoy the weekend!
I can sense the smile on your face! Lol
Ah yes, the evil grin...
Nice looking bike. I believe the Delkevic pipe on the big bore Suzuki sounds better though :)
Thanks! The Suzuki definitely sounds different with the Delkevic. I'm not sure why they sound so different. The baffle is essentially the same. Only the header length/bend is different. Cheers!
@@jonsmotorcyclerescueandrev3538 , Yeah, not sure either. Maybe ignition timing is different plus header length plus compression ? who knows . But that Suzuki sounds real proper. I had a GS 750 back in the day with a Vance & Hines, and it sounded real similar to the 1100 :)
