So happy the library was preserved. I spent so much of my youth in that library -). Looks like the crack in the floor glass was repaired as well-). Lovely.
My Sister lives there and wants me to move out there. I live in Maryland and Real estate is crazy here, people are rude. She lives outside of the City and say's what I pay to live in a Crummy neighborhood here in Md. I could afford a decent home outside the City there. She said people are way more Kind and the Crime rate is way lower. Crime rate is really high here, people are rude and places are expensive. I may just head that way. Great video.
@@JamesandLaurent Only thing's I don't like is the Cold winter's, Maryland gets cold but not as cold and not being near the Ocean besides that I think I'd like to live there.
@@JamesandLaurent l live in Des Moines south side my whole life and when people make these videos it makes me proud because we have so much here it’s a hidden gem cost of living is cheaper but raising houses are fairly affordable and we keep our city safe and clean
Des Moines we have Adventure Land which is an amusement park we have the Iowa state fair which is considered one of the best in the nation. The Asian and Italian festivals are cool and 515 live held downtown we also just got a skateboard park a few years ago that’s pretty popular! The cost of living is cheaper and less traffic and DSM isn’t all spread out like Omaha! The only cool thing in Omaha is the zoo!
This video is depressing me more and more... glad im only here for a few months because theres nothing to do here... i cant wrap my head around why would anyone move here... Its like a small town that got big and forgot to add anything worth visiting
Living in a place and visiting for a couple of days are two completely different things :) We visited Egypt, and it is one of our most memorable trips, but we would never live there.
It was a pleasure to host you during your visit to Des Moines - thanks for sharing a bit about our work and the beautiful Hall of Laureates!
Our pleasure!
My liking for Books written by Bill Bryson brought me here. I really enjoyed your video. Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it! We love Bill Bryson too :)
The library is beautiful!
It truly is!
The Botanical Center and Sceince Center will catch your eyes. Good zoo as well.
Thanks for the suggestions.
@@JamesandLaurent Caution: stay off of University Av between 2nd Av and MLK Blvd. MLK Blvd. Southbound takes you straight to downtown.

Visiting and living full time are two different things. But as a place to visit, we had a great time in Des Moines.

There are plenty of good restaurants also and a great art museum
I really like you guys.
We like you too :)
Wow! I haven't explored Des Moines in basically a couple decades. These are amazing spots. The botanical garden looks completely different!
We hope you get a chance to go back.
Pretty cool video
Thanks. We try hard 😎.

It surely is underrated :)
Good video 👌🙏👍🇮🇳
Thanks 🙏.
If I were to move to Omaha or Des Moines which one is better??
We don't know enough about Omaha to answer your question. Sorry :(

Omaha is a bigger version of Des Moines.

We're in the neighboring state too. Small world 😀😀😀!
7:50 And WHAT stores!?!?
Clothing stores, antique stores, and souvenir stores. FYI, all our videos have subtitles.
We just planned a trip to Des Moines and couldn’t believe it when we saw this in our subscription feed! Thanks for the great tips!
We hope you enjoy your trip :).
Omg Hi Guys!!!!!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀

Where are people? Nobody in the streets
We try to avoid showing people's faces in our videos. The farmers' market was the exception, as it was difficult to avoid the crowd.
And you can drive around the city and count the potholes. Hope you're good at math.
As opposed to any other city in the Midwest 😅😂🤣
@@JamesandLaurent S. Dakota has some of the best streets and well maintained.
