      Hello Joe, do you have a personal relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ? The Son of God. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. - Romans 10:9. And please ask the Lord Jesus to bless you with wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and discernment. And please ask the Lord Jesus to forgive you for all of your sins and transgressions.

    Although I'm not a pilot and retired, I've always dreamed of flying. I really like your channel because it's not only always upbeat, but teaches the basics of aviation to some degree. I'm seeing the world in a different way. While I 'm an American, I currently live in China and have to fly in and out of China 6 times a year. I love the challenge of other points of view in life and open to being multicultural. I also have had many upsets in the job market during my long career but have learned to adapt to change which is the only thing you can guarantee in life....For now though, I love any videos about flying, aviation, the physics of flight, and any videos on media with respect to aircraft. Thanks Joe for all you do and all the best in 2019!

      Hey Joe,
      I just wanna say thank you soo much to you 😭❤ and I'm about to tell you why...
      I wanted to be a pilot since I was 14. I'm 17 now and I started my aviation school for private pilot this year. But some of my family members are supporting me and some of them aren't. Not like they dont want me to be a pilot cause My family's finance isn't that great so all my uncles are saying think twice before you take Aviation because it is really expensive. After I pass my flight school I won't get to fly plane right way blah blah all these... Today my uncle told me to go for some other career because I won't be able to get money to be a pilot . And you know wha, I thought I'll never be a pilot because of my financial problems. And then your video "2018 REFLECTION and 2019 MOTIVATION" came to my TH-cam home screen . And the last part of the video you said TAKE BABY STEPS
      Joe trust me 😭😭😭😭😭 that time I just needed someone to say this and you were the one who said it...
      Thank you soo much .. I dont know how far can I go but I will put my best afford I can put in there❤❤❤❤
      "A good pilot ,
      Is always learning "
      -Cap. Joe

    It turns out that, during a stressful part of my life, I started to be scared of flying. That was really bad, because every time I had to take a plane for going on holidays I had a so f*cking bad experience. I was unable to work my problem out by myself, even being an engineer and rationally understanding the physical and technical flying principles: my fear was just completely irrational. One day, it happenned that I got divorced, and that gave me three things: more time, more money and more understanding that the ONLY thing you have in this world for fixing your problems is YOURSELF. So here the challenge came up: I had to learn to fly. Now, in the next weeks, I will hopefully get my light aircraft pilot license. So yes, I chose to take myself out from the comfort zone, the one that prevented me from being calm during a flight. Congratulations and thank you for your channel, @CaptainJoe.

      How generous! Unemployment benefits is nothing that you're paying for him or for any other unemployed person but an insurance benefit. Like health insurance, just worse. He paid for this insurance himself when he's still employed. It's not tax money! So he just got back parts of his insurance contributions which he had had to pay beforehand on his own in case he becomes unemployed (and is paying now again).
      Social allowance is tax money, but also only provided from communal taxes, not federal taxes like income taxes. That's how it works. So, you don't have to welcome anybody for getting paid his legitimate insurance benefit he has to pay an insurance premium for in the first place.

    • @SidneyKenson
      @SidneyKenson 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Claude-Eckel Well, basically right, and wrong in the same spot. Yes, as he was employed, he also paid into the insurance. Yes, he got his money from that insurance. But it's basically like the pensions insurance: What comes in, doesn't wait till you probably need, but is spent on the moment for people who are eligable to receive. So for the real money flow Joe's unemployment benefits was paid by the working people in Germany paying into the insurance during the time of his unemployment.
      And in fact this is just the big advantage of a social net like established in this country. We can be proud on it, some minor tweaks here and there to keep it up to date are certainly needed every now and then, and it stays what it is, a life saving tool, if something happens.
      To come to your health insurance example, I just can say: A co-worker of mine had a heart surgery with 28 years. He's expected to leave working life not older than 55 due to that medical state. Health insurance paid like 350k for surgery and post-surgery therapy, plus about 75k on medication each year till he dies. So he won't ever pay for these sums alone in his whole life, but so does the community.

    • @josesbox9555
      @josesbox9555 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      He payed into that program anyway. That was partly his money. I’d assume it’s that way in Germany. Unemployment is that way in the states.

    @captainjoe I just wanted to say thank you for all the motivation you have provided through your videos. I had always wanted to fly but saw the financial side of flight training as a barrier, stopping me from doing it. However late 2018 I found your videos and they motivated me to work out a plan to get where I want to go (flying the 737), I pushed hard the last month to get everything required, set up to start a 2 year course to get my CPL through a flight school while still working full time. I know it's going to be extremely busy but I am motivated to make the absolute most out of this opportunity. Thank you so much for giving me this motivation.

    For plenty of reasons, I have been away from watching videos in a long time... One of the last videos I saw on your channel was when you shared with us the air berlin situation. And out of the blue, this video shows up, in Sept 25, 2019. Captain Joe, I really enjoy watching your aviation videos. Being a frustrated pilot, having to settle for X-Plane only, they are an amazing source of knowledge. But I never, ever thought that I would receive one of the biggest life lessons from an aviation channel. From the deepest of my soul, thank you!

    I think living abroad changes us in ways that we could never imagine ahead of time. I moved to Tokyo from Toronto in 1991 and it has been the biggest driver of change in my life. I was terrified prior to the move. I do not regret a second of it, despite not all of it being fun. Life isn't all unicorns and rainbows, but it always gives us opportunity for growth. Moving outside of our comfort zone drives the pace of that growth.

    Wow, that was a fascinating video. It was kind of sad...then had me laughing. I would have never guessed that story. I have said in a previous video comment, that YOU were made for teaching. You have such a special way of explaining things, that a 5 year old could become a pilot. That is a GIFT that not many people have. Anyone training in flight school, with you as a teacher, would be the best of the best. I have no idea how much flight instructors are paid, but with your talent of explaining complicated things perfectly...you should do both jobs, pilot and instructor. I wish you the best in 2019 and continue to have a GREAT life!

      @Natalie Rogalski I partially agree with you in regards to the loss to the world if Captain Joe does not have children, but the problems with modern marriage are numerous and they are so bad, that in the United States approximately 50% of all marriages end in divorce; in some European countries, the divorce rate is even higher. In addition, for many men, divorce often means financial devastation, alienation from one's children, and indentured servitude forced by the government to one's ex-wife.
      The happiest people I know are single and never been married.
