Honestly thought the A380 is the first plane that I've flown that made me feel "this is the next generation". Sure the main cabin (in peasant economy class) felt like a market (sooo many people), but it felt *SOLID*. The upper deck (still economy class) was quiet - really comfortable! Only downside was it felt a bit... dirty, possibly because it's difficult to clean such a huge cabin space properly between flights... Because back in the 60”s, 70’s and even the 80’s they needed the 747 to fly long routes because twin engined jets couldn’t fly more than 60mins from a diversion airport. Now twin engines jets can go pretty much anywhere 4 engine jets could, why pay the higher maintenance costs
Considering that statistic the yearly output of A380s is quite impressive. You also have to keep in mind that the A380 is far bigger and or more expensive so a company needs less of them on other routes. So comparing the production is as meaningless as comparing the A320-production to the 747.

Hello Joe, a question so for both planes the A380 and B747 what is the length and width of the runway that both planes are still able to land ? I have seen the 747 be able to land/take of from a 150ft (45M) width of a runway but never a a380, the a380 always on a 200ft width runway
747: I won hahahah. You dont have your cargo version and both will stop production. A380: you were involed in world largest plane crash. 747: you're not done aaaaa
Yes, the B-747 were involved in the Crash Of The Century (KLM 4805 and PAN AM 1736), but it has been produced for over 45 years and has been sold in many more copies than the A-380. In addition, the cause of the accident was not the B-747 but the poor communication between the pilots and the ATC Have a good day!
I think a better example of the 747 failing in design would be TWA 800 because it’s centre wing fuel tank blew up, the accident wouldn’t have happened if there was a system replacing the Oxygen in the fuel tank with nitrogen.
I had the chance to fly aboard both of them, I really enjoyed the comfort aboard the 380, and the outside camera for take-off and landing, but I was happy to fly in the 747 before most of the company arround the world starts retiring the 747 of their fleet, now It's 21 and sadly the 380 is taking the same path... I wonder how long the 787 & 350 will dominate the long haul
It's like when John Hutchinson said about glass cockpits comparing to the Concorde's cockpit. *"This is a proper flight deck! None of this poncy glass cockpit rubbish!"*
I thought there were airlines still flying passengers in 747..😯..I can say that both craft are extremely beautiful...Great Channel Captain Joe, Blessings to you and your very proud mom!
The two 1st ones do carry bigger cargo than the Antonov inside. Sure they don't carry as much weigh tho. Also there's more Belugas than the other two combined (5 older Belugas, 3 new Beluga XLs)
The competition between Boeing and Airbus has driven innovation. Neither company can meet the world's aircraft inventory needs alone. So there exists a competitive symbiosis in which we are all winners. For what it's worth, I vote for the B747...great memories of flying California to New York on one when I was 8 years old (I got to fly on a DC-10 and a L-1011, too!).
Johnny. The 747 is more incredible than the 380. It's been through many variants and it's even approaching it's 5th decade in service... 74sp, 74-BBJ, 74-combi, 74-f, 74-100, 74-200, 74-300, 74-400, 74-8i/f and last but not least 74-Airforce one. The 380-800 is certainly 1 only... none other variants whatsoever.
Lots of fun from you guys. I agree, both planes are master-pieces of aero-engineering, beautiful, wonderful planes. I have been fortunate enough to have flown in both of them. My first long flight was in a 747 at the time the biggest plane in the sky, nowadays I get the same buzz flying in the A380, the new big one. I like viewing the webcam looking down along the fuselage on take off and landing, quite a novelty when first introduced. But of course on long-haul flights what the passenger wants is a reassuring smooth aircraft with a good air pressurized and air-conditioned interior.
Captains, great dialogue and thoroughly enjoyable. Point made by SoCo on Space Shuttle! Yeah, each aircraft is a materpiece and different in class, so comparison cannot be made between the Queen and the King. We wish you and all the Pilots safe passage and happy landings always. VishG
Can a big plane fit on a small airport? No! Can a big plane land on a short runway? No! Can a big plane land on an unpaved runway? No! Can you see and touch your passengers on a big plane? No! Do you have a rearview window on a short runway? No! Can you land your big plane on a highway during an emergency? No! There are many, many more...
@@OscarScheepstra_Artemis_ Can you park your small plane in front of the railway station? No. If you consider this, you may think that car is better than planes. Antonnov
If the Antonov would be there, it would get 20 points.
well then Airbus has a sidestick that is 999999999999999999 plus for A380
Yeah but the A380 has a full deck 10 points+
Hello Joe, a question so for both planes the A380 and B747 what is the length and width of the runway that both planes are still able to land ? I have seen the 747 be able to land/take of from a 150ft (45M) width of a runway but never a a380, the a380 always on a 200ft width runway
Laugh in antonov 225
Pacx xD in your Minecraft world😂

A380 = Best Passenger Plane and the choice of plane for most high end airlines (et Qatar, Emirates & Singapore)
747 = Best Cargo
747 = ITS OG BOIIII A380 = automatic, what is pilot never heard of it
I’m glad that I got to step into British Airways A380 and 747. I love both of them so much and deeply saddened that they are leaving the skies.
A380 leaving ??
@@ramblingrob4693 Yes it's officially discontinued.
These videos just make me smile and learn at the same time. Awesome!
I love Alexander. Great guy😁. The A380 is the winner for sure
@harry camper Been on an A380 from Emirates
@harry camper i disagree on the a380 and 747 .. but yeah a350 is superior
@@sock1533 I've flown the air France a380 it was an amazing experience
@harry camper uncomfortable? How on earth is the a380 uncomfortable lol
In addition, the cause of the accident was not the B-747 but the poor communication between the pilots and the ATC
Have a good day!
@@stefane.3169 And also Japan Airlines flight 123, which is the largest accident involved with a single airliner
omggggggg ksdjfbgqoiw haha
Ulas Pekedis The TWO largest plane crashes JAL 123 and the Tenerife disaster
When i am depressed i come to this channel and gives me peace😌
It looks so strange that both try to hold an invisible candle or something 😂
😂😂😂😂 I can't unsee that
“Fancy pantsy game boy on steroids”! Lol 😂
One more...
Beluga vs Dreamlifter vs Mriya
Oh no, forget Mriya. It's not fair!
Just Beluga vs Dreamlifter
The two 1st ones do carry bigger cargo than the Antonov inside. Sure they don't carry as much weigh tho. Also there's more Belugas than the other two combined (5 older Belugas, 3 new Beluga XLs)
A380 for technology and 747 for looks! Thats my view
SR-G me too
Same here man😉🤘
Time to build hybrid them aircraft with 747 looks and Airbus technology
perfect
The Antonov's pilot just giggling on this argument. :)

Except when it comes to fuel consumption/tonne.km.

The planes are not enemy’s they should be friends who agrees?
The competition between Boeing and Airbus has driven innovation. Neither company can meet the world's aircraft inventory needs alone. So there exists a competitive symbiosis in which we are all winners. For what it's worth, I vote for the B747...great memories of flying California to New York on one when I was 8 years old (I got to fly on a DC-10 and a L-1011, too!).

Both are amazing airplanes. But the A380 is just a different level.
50 Years Late
Fuchs 747 has been in service for more than 50 years the A380 will be in service for like 12
I love how you battled as an airbus-pilot against dutchpilotgirl and now you're battling as an boeing-pilot against an airbus-pilot :)
Cessna 172, anyone?
Piper J3 Cub is the real deal

Well... Does X-plane count
Cessna 152 is better 😂👌
Taliban Ghandi I flew one (172R) this morning.
My favorite is the A380. Such an incredible machine!
Johnny 👍🏻
Johnny looks like a flying forehead

Well, Cinderella is not just beautiful in the outside but most especially in the inside and it is what A380 has. 🤪

Yep the a380 is just a plane that airbus made to show of nothing to it that's why it's ugly. Hmm no the antonov is way uglier😂😂😂
Ethan's Aviation at least its not the worst.
A380=king of the skies
B747=queen of the skies
While the King can only move one square in any direction per turn, the queen can move up to eight squares in any direction

The both aircraft are extraordinary, nice video.
Thanks captains
Captains, great dialogue and thoroughly enjoyable. Point made by SoCo on Space Shuttle! Yeah, each aircraft is a materpiece and different in class, so comparison cannot be made between the Queen and the King. We wish you and all the Pilots safe passage and happy landings always. VishG
I love these two planes (747 more though) but I absolutely adore the 787 and the 777-300

I might have missed something. I have a little over 1800 hrs on mostly in a 150 182 and a 310 . But 3200 hrs on Boeing's. I'll stake my life on those.
