    Psyllium actually took away my bloating and gas. I was already eating lots of fiber, but my digestive system isn’t the greatest at processing fiber, so psyllium has been a godsend.

      @@poohstar800 my problem was more of a diarrhea issue, because my poop would be more loose/pieces, and I’d go 6 or 7 times in the day…but I also had days of constipation. For me if I go once I’m constipated, cuz I never do everything just once. So I’d alternate. Psyllium regularized my bowel movements. I still go a bunch, about 4 times a day, but my poop is fully formed and easy to pass, and I don’t have the alternate days of constipation, I just always go 4 times, sometimes 3 sometimes 5.
      I think it helps with both diarrhea and constipation, it allows the intestine to absorb the water better and it clumps up the poops but also softens them, so the poops get bigger but also easier to pass.

    I got on a high fat keto type of diet, eating a lot of things that are considered bad. I got rid of the bread, potatoes, cokes/ diet cokes and refined sugars. I still drink some sweet tea from time to time. On my last labs back in the first part June, my A1C went down from a 6.5 to a 5.9 with no medication. My LDL went from 265 to 155. I couldn’t believe it! I lost about 20 pounds, did about 25 to 30 mins on a row machine 4 times a week along with some other exercise involved also. I started drinking about a gallon of water a day and I was taking around 5 or 6 Psyllium capsules 2 or 3 times a day and I was taking Braggs Apple Cider vinegar pills too. I’m not as hungry and I don’t miss the sweet bad foods I use to eat is another benefit.

      I went on a keto diet after losing Fifty pounds on a calorie restricted diet, because after almost two years, I grew tired of counting calories and meals my food. After six months of less than thirty total grams of carbohydrates per day, I gained back 15 of the 50 that I lost. The most carb dense food I consumed was iceberg lettuce and green cabbage.

    Just used my food scale and 1 level tablespoon was 6 grams of psyllium husk. Your mileage may vary, but that should be a good starting place. Suggest to mix it in a glass of water and let it sit for about half an hour. A gelatinous layer will develop, just stir it well and drink. If you don’t take enough water, you will not get a good result.

    I started taking two+ tablespoons a day: one in the morning after I test my blood and befor i dose myself with black coffee/espresso, two teaspoons before I break my (16 - 19hr) daily fast, and 1.5 tsp a few hours before sleep. I see a flattening of my blood glucose levels similar to eating a strict kego diet. I am currently on a low carb Mediterranean diet.

    Kelloggs All Bran Buds is loaded with psyllium husk. Great for my hemorrhiod problem i've had for the last 25 years. Just 6 to 8 oz with 8 to 12 oz of fat free milk twice a week I think saved my life. Plus vastly improved my cholesteriol levels. I'm 65 years old.

    Thanks for this video.
    I have been taking a flat tablespoon of psyllium husk mixed with a flat tablespoon of black chia seeds in a glass of water. I stir this mixture & let it sit for about 5 minutes, to allow the mixture to absorb the water. Then I drink a couple of mouthfuls of this mixture with every meal.
    The main purpose is this mixture keeps me regular & I don’t constipate. Also it helps to get rid of the bad cholesterol & clears my arteries.

    I've been taking Metamucil....for the past 2 weeks religiously... two heaping tablespoons in a glass of water twice a day... so 4 tablespoons total per day.... and let me say...the first few days I didn't notice...but after continuing to use it...I literally do feel lighter in my gut...I did read that if you do take it...don't take any medications for 2 hours...I guess it makes sense as it absorbs the medication you take if you take it during that 2 hour window...I was so afraid it was cause gas and bloating... but I've not noticed that at all..

    Thank you my blood sugar is always high sometimes it 20 mmol/L. I quickly used dumb bells and it lower fast after 20 mins working out. I will do this every meal and check again after a week here. Thank you!

    Yesterday around noon I had eggs and broccoli then later in the afternoon I a glass of natural psyllium husk . I noticed even 2 hours later I was not hungry at all. This tells me I could easily go into an overnight fast but instead I thought I needed to eat even though I could have passed, so did have fish and salad.

    taking metformin with each mean. How long before or after should I take the metamucil. I don't want it to soak up the tablet as is often warned about.

    Is there plant estrogen in psyllium? I have had breast cancer related to estrogen. My dr says to limit all estrogen sources so the cancer doesn’t come back. No flax, no walnuts and No soybean products! So which fiber sources are best for us who have this type of cancer. Thank you for your help.

    I'm not diabetic but I do take metamucil. I usually take it after meals but I guess everybody takes it differently
    It says it helps with cholesterol and blood sugar. I hope that's true. So I hope when I go to the doctor for bloodwork my sugar isn't high

    Can you do a video that explains the difference between blood sugar spikes while exercising and after eating.
    I was told blood sugar spikes after eating can be damaging to the body. Is it thr same when exercising?

      @@sirei01 , Thank you. It rarely goes above 165 after eating. Goes to 150 depending upon the type of exercise, if I do H.I.I.T.

    I bought it today but l watched Dr. Eric’s video.He says ıt could decrease iron b vitamin levels.l have been used pribiyotoıc for one year after l had defiency of b12 and l was shocked because l had healthy balance diet.l think ıt would be greatful ıf you make Turkish viedo

    I use it in baked goods. 5 bread on 20 grams of psyllium.
    Every day I eat 1-2 pieces of bread, is this normal? Or is psyllium forbidden for more than 7 days to consume?
    The bread made with the psyllium is also really satisfying.
    Can this bread be consumed regularly? Or is it not good because of the psyllium and is forbidden every day for a long time?
    I'm asking because I read that it can cause deficiencies and I'm really confused..

    I take psyllium whole seeds daily. (Plantago Ovata) Do you feel the whole seed is more
    efficacious than the husk?

    Hello,
    It's March/2023 and I have two questions, if you have time to answer? 1. If you are taking psyllium daily, does it have any negative affects on the microbiome & 2. I've recently read that some psyllium products have been found to have lead in them. This is concerning as I was thinking of taking the product called Metamucil but wary with possible negative affects in regards to the two above questions.       1. Psyllium husk is very good for the gut microbiome as it feeds the good bacteria in your gut.
      2. Make sure you buy organic and it won’t have led in it.

      I think one tablespoon is equal to 15 grams but you can also google it and check for yourself.

    Dr. Is it a good idea to add plenty of psyllium husk powder into my homemade white flour bread and pancakes, can I then include these in my daily meals? Will it make a difference for weight loss and keeping blood sugars in balance?

      Husk dissolved with water added to whole wheat flour helps in reducing sugar spikes then just the powder to flour . White flour is not a good idea for diabetics

      Be careful how you consume the husk, always drink plenty of water and ensure that its dissolved in liquid first.

    Hi,
    I have been taking P Husk recently as I suffer badly for constipation which is causing me real problems. It has been great to help with that problem, but I have now noticed a massive increase in my gastric reflux. Can P Husk make reflux worse, maybe because the liver produces more bile?

    What form of psyllium husk do you recommend? I assume we don’t want the regular Metamucil since it contains sugar and the capsules don’t seem to contain enough fiber. So I guess the sugar-free is okay.

      Sugar free Metamucil is garbage. It may be toted as "Sugar Free" but it has Maltodextrin which spikes insulin levels worse than sugar.

      I’m not a doctor but I’ve read that usually taking right before your meals would be ideal to absorb the sugars.

      Yes you need to drink more water when you take it. Like with most fiber it expands. Imagine a dry sponge when it gets wet.

      Maksim , yes it does , that's why you have to take medication 2 hours before or after psyllium .
