Shiru Shir Shalom / Sing A song Of Peace

In response to the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin in 1995, Composer William Goldstein wrote this piece to inspire and create positive energy that in a small way may help move the many forces at play in the Middle East to mutual respect and cooperation, a light unto the world. Inspired by Yehuda Avner's The Prime Ministers, especially his description of the friendship between Begin and Sadat, and Rabin and King Hussein, Goldstein was inspired to create this video.

"Shir LaShalom was written by Yaakov Rotblit and set to music by Yair Rosenblum.[1] It was first performed in 1969 by the Infantry Ensemble (להקת הנחל) of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) as part of its Sinai Infantry Outpost program, during the War of Attrition between Israel and Egypt. It featured the soloist Miri Aloni, who later became a celebrated folk singer and actor. Many of the other members of the ensemble who took part in the recording of the song went on to become well-known figures in the Israeli entertainment scene. The Good Friday Agreement didn't stop the terrorists in the Northern Ireland conflict, Some of the worst attacks were seen on the UK mainland and in NI. You can't let the terrorists win like they did in 1995.
