Should You Buy the Mountune Cold Air Intake System for you Fiesta ST150? | *CAIS Tested*

- In this video I decided to revisit the intake temperatures and see how my new Mountune CAIS compares to the Ramair cone filter which I used to have and also the factory airbox. Using temperature sensors placed as close to the throttle body as possible (without the risk of them being sucked in) I monitored them with a digital dash clock given to me by UNA performance. The air was to find out whether the Mountune CAIS does what it states and get some indication as to whether, based on the principles underpinning cold air intakes, the Mountune system is likely to yield any power gains over the standard airbox and the much debated cone style filters. Thanks man, what does the GGR one do different? I’ve never actually seen one before, seen to be pretty rare
on a trackday i had intake temps of 50-60°c with the factory airbox (ambient was like 25-30) and with the ramair it got more down into 35-40 but i have a selfmade cold air feed going into it
Air flow is just as important if not more than temp. I have had 2 of these both with K&N57i. I remember seeing a magazine test in 2006 which showed how restrictive the stock airbox is and every induction kit made more power than the stock system.
That's what my "question" is sort of.
The stock system might be better suited to make a bit more torque lower in the range and I'd love if someone would go into more detail about that 🤔

Lol good vid m8 u allways get divvys vommenting you’ve done this you’ve done that ignore them m8 yr doing it right yr correct the colder the air the bigger the bang Simple’s keep doing what yr doing m8 I’ve been working on modified fords for over 35 years such as big power cosworth and all RS models so wether it’s super charged , turbod, or NA it applies the colder the better intake the mountune item u have use is a good upgrade m8 and is tried n tested good work keep it up👍👍

The Mountune CAIS is a gd bit of kit. I’m glad i got mine when I did though as they are well expensive now! Just wish i could still get the exhaust to go with it

For me, I’d say it is, I think they really look the part, and from my testing it seems functional as well. In terms of performance it’s going to give negligible gains on its own but as a supporting mod coupled with what I’ve got coming I think it will be worth it
@@MendItModIt yeah I guess if you are going down that route a definite in terms of performance however for me it makes me feel sick the price of it 😂 I’m staying standard though for now..

Don't suppose you know the bolt sizes of the 2 bolts that hold the mountue lid to the slam panel?
Thanks buddy, do you mean the two original studs? Or the bolts I fitted? Originally there’s a thread you’d put a nut on but mine were ruined so I drilled them out and put rivnuts in the slam panel to bolt into

An yeah I’m not sure on the originals, mine were a completely different ‘size’ to what they should have been 🥴😂 I used M6 rivnuts 👍🏻

Good test that we’ll done, I’ve always dropped a k+n panel filter in my air boxes but always added an extra cold air feed to it and I will always do that
