  • Remote ID is a VERY Controversial topic, but there are some pilots that have no option, but to comply. If you’re in that camp, you’ll probably need a Remote ID (RID) module for your craft/drone. Today we’re looking at arguably one of the most versatile modules around, the FlightTest EZ ID. Let’s see if its right for you. For More info, Check Out: tinyurl.com/mrxhru7p

I have a Potensic Atom sub 250gr drone in the EU. This drone comes with a 4K camera and this is why in the EU you need to have a RemoteID.
My drone`s weight is 244gr, but if i add this module 10gr .. it would make my drone already 254gr and makes it a >250gr drone... (didnt even calculate the battery`s weight).
Best way for drones is that they already add RemoteID in the drone itself.

On that example drone both 2.4ghz antennas are identically oriented. Rotate one of them 90 degrees to eliminate null zones when using diversity ELRS 💪Say 🚫 to RID "That's not my drone, I'm trying to take control of it though.... oh dang, its gone now!!"

LOL on the Remote ID. You’re right about the orientation of the antennas. I had no space or length on the antenna to mount it vertically. Thanks bro.

And if I have a drone, for example Pavo20 or Meteor85, do I need to install it too???

Only if you are flying for Part107(commercial use).

Bought one. It's junk. Not accurate. And for whatever reason it uses Google GPS data that is very old. The HolyStone unit I have with built in battery and a much better protective case is accurate and 100% better. I have 2 Spectrum units coming via FEDEX on Tuesday. It only took them 5 months since I ordered. Curious to see how they perform. Thanks!

I’ll check out the Holystone..Thanks for your feedback.

Great vid bro but if it’s kicking out false altitude data that’s a dealbreaker. It can and will be used against you.

Thanks man. I guess it could be used against you. The way GPS calculates altitude is different than a typical drone with barometer. The difference is/was expected and hopefully the “officials” know that too.

Great video, however I have to pass, anything that sends MY location not just the location of the drone is asking for problems.

Yeah, I totally understand. I think the operator’s location is dependent on the specific app used, and not the Remote ID module itself. Either way, your point is well taken..Thanks
