      Sadly, I have a feeling that most companies only can gauge their sizes on this metric, because the average biological female doesn't know their cervix position is. I know from personal experience that I didn't until I was in my late twenties. I doubt there are many studies on the topic either.

    I could use large and small cups aged ago, and I have 2 kids now and can still use small cups. I think firmness is a much bigger factor honestly. My Super Jennie feels smaller than my (really firm and wrong shape for me) Lena small, because the SJ is constucted with a better angle and it's squishy, but the Lena is like a firm teardrop and it feels massive when it's in.
    Vaginas are really elastic, and they're very resilient. They can accommodate a large cup without needing to have given birth, and can also be taut enough to hold in a small cup post-childbith (if you're active and relatively fit.

    I just had a nightmare experience with my Femmy cycle cup. It had turned sideways inside me, and I was using the low cervix size so I couldn't feel the loop to grab it. I have shorter than normal fingers so I had seriously difficult time grabbing the cup even with bearing down. I have been using menstrual cups for 5 years now, and have tried many brands, and have never had this issue before, and it was not my first time using that brand either, been using it for about a year. I have a difficult time using the menstrual cups period, I don't know if it's because my cervix is extremely tilted or what, but it is VERY frustrating.

    • @lavan6298
      @lavan6298 6 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Audrey this could be happening due to a number of reasons. 1) you have a heavier flow and the cup gets full quickly. if this is the case, change it more frequently. 2) the cup is too long and your cervix sits INSIDE your cup (the cervix should be just above the cup). this has to be the reason if when you take your cup out, you see it's not full, but there has still been leaking/spotting. if this is the case, buy a shorter cup or cut off/trim the stem. 3) the cup doesn't open once it's inside your vagina, even if you may think it has opened. to solve this, i suggest you watch some videos on how to get the cup open by PACII and Precious Star Pads. hope this helps! :)

    Hi! I took your quiz before buying my first cup and the result was Diva Cup 2, which I in fact bought.
    After 4 periods of trying to use it I am about to give up!
    At the beginning I couldn't put it inside, then I spent hours (literally, about 6-8 hours, total, in 4 separate occasions) trying to take it out.
    Now I don't have much trouble putting it in or out, BUT I can't have it in for more than 30 minutes!!! I have so much pain, my menstrual cramps are just the worst! And they disappear as soon as I take it out.
    Sometimes the cup turns sideways and it always goes too high so I have to push from inside to remove it.
    Sometimes I have leaks.
    I have taken the quiz again with my experience with the cup and it keeps suggesting me to buy the same Diva Cup 2!
    Is it too big? Too small?
    Any better suggestions???

    Any help is appreciated!!

    God I am happy I found this. I wanted to try forever, ordered the organicup but it was horrible. Not flexible and it leaked and didnt feel like it fit me. Happy with this info and I will try again. Although i am a pad girl, so I might just stay with that.

    I was looking on TH-cam for info videos on menstrual cups but I did not fully trust any of them. None of them cover it all 100%. Until, I saw you video and your channel name "Put A Cup in It". How could I not trust you guys when this is all you talk about. Thanks to your very informative videos, and your bluntness, I was able to pick a cup. It was thanks to your quiz. I just ordered the Luna 2 pack on Amazon with your $5 coupon and can't wait to try them out on my next cycle.

    I workout 3 days a week, 39, and have no children. I have tried the diva cup as my first cup. I am not sure what I was feeling, but I definitely was feeling it...ugh. I am also regular flow. I took the quiz twice and answered the questions differently and of course I got different results. So I'll measure my cervix and maybe that will help better.

    This is so so helpful, really love your channel!
    I've been using menstrual cups for about a year now. first started with the lily cup compact, which I've experienced some leakage then switched over to femmecycle (petite), I've loved how the femmecycle is so easy to remove with the ring, but for my last period I've experienced a flipped cup!!! it completely flipped horizontally (almost 180 degree flip) I couldnt reach the ring to remove and it took me quite some time to get it out by holding onto the opening. I wonder if it's the fit (or maybe because I have quite a high cervix) or because the cup is too soft and I have really high activity levels? (was wearing it while horse riding and doing yoga (inversions) and a run that day... ) Would really love to get some feedback from experts like you!
    I'm also thinking of trying the lily cup one because it's so compact and firmer... do you have any advice on that?

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you 😘The flip could also just be cause by the cup being so round without a longer stem to prevent the tilting. I've had this happen with a more "round" cup. It happening once doesn't mean it will happen again now that you're aware, keeping sure it;s more centered in the vagina versus allowing it to begin tilted to one side or the other helps prevent it. The One isn't much more firm than the compact from my perspective but overall it's a nice little cup and the length is better than the compact. It's shaped in a way that it shouldn't be possible for it to flip. Hope that helps a bit and also I'd suggest joining our group if you haven't to ask there for help as needed :) vag.life/cupnation

    I'm really struggling with finding a cup for me. I've taken the quiz a few times, however there was a question that asked about the cervix height and the only option I could choose was "I have a low cervix and can touch it easily without going past it". Well, I do have an extremely low cervix but can easily go past it, which is why I thought I had a high cervix for a whole year! My cervix is up by a little less than 1 cm which is quite low and most posts are about people with medium high or low cervix. I've been looking into the Meluna Shorty but loads of people aren't too happy with it because, apparently, it leaks a lot. I'm also not sure what kind of firmness I need. I feel like a really soft cup like a Meluna wouldn't be a good idea... Anyone else out there with very low cervix and tight vag that can give some advice?
    P.S. On the quiz, I got Lunette 1, Size 1. If Google converted the measurements correctly, there is no way such a cup could fit a person with a very low cervix.

    I tried the blossom cup and had a pleasurable experience with it the first few days. I had no trouble inserting it and getting it to seal. However, towards the end of my cycle my cup had managed to turn sideways. Literally, hold your cup upright and then rotate it 90 degrees. I had to get some help reaching up and getting rotated back to the upright position before pulling it out.
    Do I continue use with this cup or do I look for a different cup?

    Wow fall in love with videos.... found lots of information! Thank you. I have been using Meluna cup S size it wasn’t a good experience I had problems with put it there and then take it out. It was hard for me. Once it even went tooooo far I couldn’t take it out for half an hour. Had no idea how did it happened... I bought Lili cup small size foldable. Omg it changed my life seriously it is super soft and nice. I don’t feel it at all. However I still have AN issue sometimes. I cannot take it out because it goes too up during night I literally struggling with it. Most of time it is ok for me. But the last day of period I am freaking out cervix goes toooo high I cannot reach it. So I am still in a process of finding my PERFECT cup. Could do you please write names of cups which u mention in this video in description box below . Quiz didn’t work for me.

    I bought my first one and then saw this video 😂 I’m wondering if this is due to the hardness of the silicone or maybe the cup is too wide, but I find when i try to put it in it hurts. And it hurts a lot if it is too close to what I guess is my bone? I’m not sure, it just hurts an inconceivable amount if it’s too close to my wall

    I really want to use cups -cost efficient &good for environment. And i tried to measure the hight of my clevix & i have never touch myself - it just grosses me out. So when i put my finger - honesty i dont even know if i put it in the right place.... - the place felt very tight & it hurt a little. When i pulled my finger out it had blood on it -. was on my period.
    So is there anything else i can do?

    • @somethingelse1257
      @somethingelse1257 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly if you’re going to use a cup you should really get to know your body. Finding where your cervix is, is a good start. I do think that it is important that you know where your vagina is. It helped me to do this in the shower because it feels more natural to be naked there and water is good lubrication. If you feel to uncomfortable with touching your vagina you can also use reusable pads or period underwear. Hope this helps.

    • @alainag744
      @alainag744 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I also feel weird doing that but I am glad I measured my cervix because it turns out I have a very high cervix and will need the longest cup. I think you need to relax when you measure your cervix. If you are nervous, your muscles will tighten up. So try doing it again and see if you can feel your cervix. You also have to be on your period to know how high or low your cervix gets and which cup to get.

    I wish I had watched this video before I bought my first menstrual cup instead of wasting my money in the smaller one I found just because I'm a virgin and have regular flow. Then I got to know I had a high cervix because it was impossible to reach it to remove it. And thanks to this video now I know I have a weak pelvic floor (I pee a little when I laugh or sneeze) so at the end me being a virgin under 30 had nothing to do with it and now I need a large one...
    I already bought the smallest divacup (they were all the same height but I bought the thinner one), and it was really expensive but if I leak I'll have to buy a bigger one again... don't let anyone tell you using menstrual cups is easy because is not lol

    • @PutACupInIt

      Sounds like you could use a bit of a larger capacity. If you like the shape and fit of the Lena small, you could try their larger size. You may want to try the sensitive in the larger size (it's slightly softer) if you have a good fit with the small but are sizing up for capacity.

    Hey I got a cup a few days ago ( the femometer A or small) and the width was perfect it did not even feel like I was wearing anything. But the cons:
    I think i have a high cervic so when trying to remove it i could not see the steam at all literally had to do some serious breathing exercise Lol.
    As I was trying to insert it because the material is soo soft it did not pop open nsterally with my viginal walls so it kept sinking downwards.
    But i do love the cup was very comfortable especially from me has this is my first time inserting anything inside of me and also no leaks would you recommend me anything with the same width but a bit longer.

      Knowing your body is exponentially going to help choose a cup. The quiz is a good starting point and is often going to give people a cup that works but having a robust understanding of your body and cycle will always help really pinpoint what will work. Either by knowing a cup in your result is not going to work or looking at the results and comparing them to see which is best based on what you can buy where you live, or ignoring and buying from the wide variety out there. :)

    Bri of Precious Stars Pads talks about trimming the stem down if you have a very low cervix; do you recommend this?

    • @PutACupInIt
      @PutACupInIt  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Definitely. Trimming the stem is a good way to immediately lose some length, but also many people find the stem to be annoying or even irritating (we do, so we are team chop all the way). That said, it's important not to trim it until you are sure that you need/want it. If your cervix moves high during your cycle it could make reaching it a bit more difficult depending on the cup and your anatomy.
