Is the cake drum completely covered with the white icing and at the beginning when you're painting it and its elevated is the cake already on the cake drum? Sorry I'm new to caking if the question sounds silly. Thank you ever so much! xx

When you have 2 or more cake due in the same week how long do you keep them in the refrigerator and how can you stop them from sweating I'm a home Baker and constantly battle with doing case the same day or late at night so they won't sweat or how to store them thank you

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Jaime! Thanks for the message. I dont refrigerate mine as I find it causes sweating and can be harder to cover. Once the cakes are filled I give them a coat of ganache which seals the cake and moisture in. xxx

      ha ha yes! All my cakes stay at room temp. The only time they hit the fridge is if its REALLY humid and my ganache needs help firming up! They dont stay in for long though as I feel the fridge has a drying-out effect on the sponge x

    It turned out so elegant! Love it!! And I found black roses today and thought of you!! All the Halloween stuff is out now here in the US 😩😩 have you ever steamed a cake and dry dusted it?? It applies luster dust BEAUTIFULLY!!! Probably wouldn’t have worked for this one as you had to custom mix the colors, but it’s the only way I seem to be able to cover a whole cake without streaks!

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    • @tinka396
      @tinka396 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Little Cherry Cake it’s a little crazy they already have the Halloween stuff out!! They even have Christmas stuff out too!! And I don’t think it takes any more dust then using it with alcohol. I did a patch test and it seems to cover better in one coat with the steaming technique then 3 coats of the paint version 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Love your videos, thank you so much for sharing. I have been experimenting with lustre but have been using rejuvenator liquid. I found it evaporates really quickly and am left with lots of powder on cake. Do you think I’m using too much lustre. Your lustre mixed with vodka seems a thinner consistency than what I’ve been using, mine also has some streaks bu5 maybe not letting it dry long enough,
    . How long would you let it dry between coats. X

    • @Cherrycakeco
      @Cherrycakeco  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Diane! Yes possibly too much lustre, and sometimes its the type of lustre too. If it leaves too much you can just buff it with a soft (new) make up blusher brush or kabuki. I leave it until I can touch it without it being sticky. Hope it helps! :D x

    Would the color come as intense applied with an airbrush?

    • @Cherrycakeco

      It would need to be watered down a little more with vodka to go through the airbrush so it didn't clog-up. So it would need more layers to build up the colour x
