    The stretch bolts used in the two bush positions have a torque setting and a angle as well.

    Loving the chrome shockets on the impact gun and the ridiculous amount of copper slip used 😂

    What else you recommend changing if you still feel problems on the highway from a pot hole ?? 🕳️ already did motor mounts about to do full set of control arms …

      It’s difficult to say anything without proper diagnostics; we recommend contacting a car service center.

      Hi! We advise you to change the control arms.

    Copper slip and aluminium don’t mix… can cause galling and corrosion. Use nickel or aluminium anti seizure paste designed specifically for this.

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, copper grease can react chemically with an aluminum wheel. Therefore, if copper grease is used on aluminum surfaces, it is necessary to monitor operating conditions and regularly check the condition of parts to avoid undesirable consequences. More precisely, what lubricant is recommended to use should be found in the technical documentation for repairing your car.

    I honestly don't think a whole lot of shops will bother preloading the parts before tightening everything down.

    my 8K2 has less than 60,000km on the clock, but needs to have all four front lower arms replaced for the SECOND time....

  • @OneLeggedTarantula
    @OneLeggedTarantula 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    removing the bolt from the front most lower control arm is easier if you turn the steering wheel all the to the left (or right for the other side) so the inner tie rod boot is fully compressed.

      Thank you for your feedback.
      In this case, we used a special 3970 Liqui Moly spray based on copper grease,
      it perfectly protects against corrosion and sticking of parts operating at high temperatures.

    what's the socket called for prising apart the ball joint socket to allow it to slip in?

    • @daze023
      @daze023 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No help here, but I once had a couple of nice slotted screwdriver tips set into 3/8" drive sockets that would just do.
      Maybe a square shafted screw driver with a vice grip plier?

    Nice... replacing that joint with the wrong tourqe specifications. And you install it on the right NM before you put it back.
    And all that copper grease? Why? It doesn't stay on it had bad water resistance... use Loctite 8060 for aluminum applications.

      @@autodocuk So Replacing Ball Joints is not a Must if they're in good condition? I only have the control Arms and was planning on using the same ball joints. Wasn't sure if they HAVE to be replaced as well.

    I think it's bad to spray copper grease on rubber gaiters of balljoints, tie rod ends, bushings, etc. The rubber will start cracking because of the grease, the repair won't last a long time. Silicon grease would be better cuz it doesnt hurt the rubber.
    But other than that, great video.

    • @autodocuk

      Rubber on anthers is oil-benzo resistant, so there will be no harm from copper grease.

    How do I know whether my B8 has 16mm or 17mm ball joints without having to remove them? My vin is WAUMF78K09N031292. If there’s a way.
    And would I need a wheel balance and/or what else? I know a wheel alignment for sure.
