    Hey Seth, I was the Aggro player in match 4! I was so excited when I saw your name because you really helped me to find the joy in playing Magic early on. Been subscribed to your brews since 2014. I hope you’re doing well, and the deck looks sweet now that I can see it in action!

    I have been playing this archetype for a couple of weeks and I must say that is really fun. I would recommend to run Restoration of Eiganjo over the stompers, because it gives you more value, you can ramp or reanimate your fetches or field of ruin among other things and it gives a body that creates smaller bodies and can be reanimated with brilliant restoration. Mnemonic sphere and spirited companion are also good to consider, because they are cheap cantrips that have good synergy with brilliant restoration, and the later can chump on early game against aggressive players.

      Been running a version of it kamigawa came out, got to mythic with a mostly azorius version in Bo1. A few lowkey good additions to the deck: 2 of Tameshi. 3-4 circuit mender. 1-2 Candletrap.
      Also I've found Farewell to be a pretty bad include.

    Hey Seth, at 25:42 when your opponent cast Go Blank, you could have used a Chromeshell Crab to channel, and after he pays the 3, use Shigeki to fetch one back and do it again. Would have costed 10 mana but saved most of your hand and graveyard. Plus you had more shigekis to use to fetch back Restoration

    I’m super happy to see a Brilliant Restoration deck on the channel. I built one based off of your original Turtle Lock deck and a deck you had featured on the weekend fishbowl like a week after Neon Dynasty released.
    If you do revisit this deck The Celestus is really good in the deck, it ramps early, it can help filter your hand in the mid game. And in the late game if you have your opponent in the Turtle Lock and you’re just looking for a Brilliant Restoration it will help you dig for it and fuel it. I also like Touch of the Spirit Realm in the main deck. I know it isn’t a creature, but being able to blink something of yours to save it from removal is good. The channel ability is great on tokens which are aplenty in Standard. It can also be good to just use it as a tempo play to take one less attack from a creature so you can be at a higher life total when you try to stabilize with a board wipe.
    I also like running a single Invoke Justice because sometimes all you have in the graveyard is a Sky Turtle.
    Endless Detour isn’t just a pseudo Counterspell or removal, it also has that stealth third mode of putting a card from a graveyard on top of the library so it’s an emergency third card that regrowths for you.
    Thanks for the sweet deck Seth.

    @maxwellhelmberger4923 2 ปีที่แล้ว +51

    Have you considered Scattered Thoughts instead of Memory Deluge? It can put channel creatures in the graveyard, and it's a common AND easier to cast at 3U instead of 2UU. Only downside is it doesn't flash back.

    I can tell that Seth’s style is influenced by sports announcers, and he does a great job of being present in the moment while effectively communicating the importance of what he’s talking about, which is a duality that a lot of the great sports announcers have. I really feel like Wizards is missing out on hiring one of the best announcers, each time that they have a broadcast without Seth as their lead announcer. I feel like wizards was trying to emulate the wrong broadcast when they took a “let’s have a poker style broadcast“ approach. They really should have gone in a more entertaining direction, similar to a football or baseball broadcast. Wizards of the coast, hire SaffronOlive to be the announcer for your tournaments. #Ivoteforseth

    Mnemonic Sphere seems better for this deck. 1U to play and 1U to sac to draw 2, which is Memory Deluge without the scry or flashback. But its channel is U to draw a card.
    So you can channel it away, get it back with Brilliant Restoration and then crack it for a total of draw 3 for 1UU. And then you can repeat with another Brilliant Restoration.

    @derekcline950 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Okay I've played around with this deck for a bit and here are some interesting ways to tune it.
    Mnemonic Sphere feels much better than Memory Deluge. It can be cycled for only 1 and the mana cost can be split into 2 turns. This deck has issues doing everything it wants early game, so a cheap cost is great.
    Touch the Spirit Realm is a great catchall that can also be a great answer to tokens or creatures with counters/enchantments with its channel ability. Could be main deckable.
    Citizens Crowbar belongs in the sideboard. It can repeatedly answer artifacts and enchantments. This deck takes a while to get going, the chump blocker is nice too.
    This deck really wants Doomskar. I get that this is supposed to be rotationproof, but Depopulate only helped my opponents. Still, I think Depopulate is also better than Farewell. 6 mana AND it exiles our stuff is just too much. I'd rather see a 3/1 split of Depopulate and Farewell.
    The samurai was the most cut everytime I side boarded. Now that I cut Farewell, I'm going to try the card draw doggo over the samurai.
    I think the early plays and card draw will matter more than having more huge bodies. Every time Brilliant Restoration resolved felt backbreaking for my opponent, one less 4/4 doesn't change that.

    I've climbed to mythic with a (mostly) azorius version of this deck. Farewell is not a good sweeper for it, too slow and exiling your own creatures is bad.

      I'd recommend Kami of Bamboo Groves. It's a green creature that ramps, and it's an enchantment creature that channels so it fits with brilliant restoration.

    • @Amphidsf
      @Amphidsf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Could try the Azusa Saga. It's an enchantment that helps you ramp a bit. Or Boseju reaches skyward. Perhaps a 2/2 split.

    • @ChaosForce08
      @ChaosForce08 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might be able to get a couple more slots if you split the wraths. If you have Depopulates (Or even By Invitation Only) that could work as you only really care about exiling creatures (maybe artifacts), and a lot of Farewell's power comes from the multiple modes and you usually only want 2. You can play other ramp spells, but Topiary Stomper seems much better than the other options to me as it fixes your White which is really important for Restoration unlike the other options. Could also split the Deluges with something like Scattered Thoughts which fills the graveyard.
