Superfriend decks are the bane of my existence, but seeing you play it with all the cool likes of play you can do really makes me appreciate the archetype, man. You're the best, Luca!!!! Thanks for all you do!!!
I've wanted to get into Brawl for a while, but not having played every set that came out there are so many cards I don't have and of course haven't played with so don't know them. These videos really help with that. I appreciate the way you break down lines (including ones you don't intend on taking) and explain cards. One day I'll brave the unknown and just jump in and it will likely be because of one of your videos!
Exactly. LegenVD shows he wants to let other players have their fun too, as there is nothing as disappointing as when you finally get your combo together and the other player scoops (or more aptly, "table flips" from being salty they were losing) before they get to see their cool combo go off. It's a sad fact that it often takes more than one sitting to watch a video posted by LegenVD simply because I watch these poor sportsmanship players keep scooping on him the mere moment they are at the slightest disadvantage and it frustrates me... and I'm just watching, not actually playing, the match. LegenVD has a lot more patience than me when it comes to other players.
@@rwaszczuk I do agree though I'm not entirely sure whether getting your commander exiled and copied, and then facing the Doubling Season + instant Teferi emblem immediately on the next turn (however cool that may be) can fairly be called "the slightest disadvantage"...
@slavecek I'm referring to an overall sample size of players, rather than any specific match. I'm aware that LegenVD needs to create content and sometimes that means he creates decks which, when they go off, just slowly grind a player to dust and it's a grueling process at that stage. Under those circumstances it's understandable that a player, seeing the writing on the wall, chooses to concede defeat. But sadly more matches simply end, without even a GG, which strikes me as salty. A "you can dish the lumps, but you can't take them" attitude is conveyed to me under these circumstances.
It would be so easy for them to add a "keep playing button" that would let you finish your turn and remove the opponent's priority after they left the game.
i usually jam an ichormoon gauntlet in most of the superfriends lists in blue that i have. it's probably not as impactful as i'd like but i have a tough time cutting it
The only thing I love about playing magic on pc (whether it's mtgo or mtga) is the auto rules enforcement, the interaction at 40:00 could've been easily misplayed on the table. I certainly overlooked "one spell per turn" effect and was expecting gobakhan to flip just like LVD. Also the snow basics look great, I didn't have a chance to play with them yet but I'm glad I bought them =)
Would work better in a Commander build probably. You need to have Tekuthal, Atraxa, and proliferate targets on the field, so it seems kinda like a win more.
it's... really not. that's great if you like the format, but you could definitely get a more competitive deck in even standard for way less. for brawl in particular, once you hit a certain threshold, you have to be playing a handful of very specific (and mostly expensive) lists/staples to even stand a chance.
What you need was the smaller Kaya ultimate token which let's you put a legendary back from anywhere. combine it with Karn's Temporal Sundering for no mana infinite turns :D
Was definitely a consideration. Don't think the card is actually all that good unless we're already pretty far ahead controlling multiple Planeswalkers.
@LegenVD I can see that really does feel like a 3 mana do nothing if you don't have a few walkers to take advantage right away or at least another non creature spell to get is static ability use. I do like using it with the only negative ability walkers because they now basically have a +1 when they are drained or when using them isn't really opportune or actually helps you. Great list though and we'll played!
Thirsting roots beats the snow land search in value, I would value basiri ket for counters /tokens and indestructibility or dovin over nissa, seeing as you don’t have many forest. Maybe wrenn for color fixing/better graveyard work.
Very exciting archetype and great video! Love to see Brawl content! Today I am here to represent my gang "Etali in Brawl is a problem". Am I the only one who thinks that? As an avid Brawl player, I get matched a surprisingly high amount of times against it, even when playing very different decks. Etalis decks are all extremely similar, and, in my opinion, borderline obnoxiously consistent. Green gets far too many good ramp options and it feels so bad to start off a match with your opponent going t1 elf/utopia sprawl t2 ramp. Every. Single. Time. Etali players always mulligan for the hands that give them this strategy, and it makes the play pattern soo repetitive. Most of the times they just concede if you counter their early ramp, because they know they'd be stuck trying to ramp for the next couple of turns. And if they do get to Etali mana, you are already losing. It's a commander that comes with other 2 random spells, and 50% of the times this means they hit big. The other 50% of the times they just hit ramp, but that's ok because ramp means they can recast Etali next turn. If Etali sticks around, it's a OTK that's soooo difficult to interact and fight against. Killing it is also not an option, because they will just cast it again for more value. Not many decks are running good/permanent answers to Etali, which means it feels bad to play against it when you are running a csual commander. Because of its plain play pattern, I don't think it brings anything to the game, especially if players concede as soon as you disrupt their ramp. I definitely don't think it should be banned or anything, but I do think it's a boring and kind-of-unfair commander to play against
@@jamesnguyen7842 I won't go back to a deck I did recently unless the archetype changed significantly. Can't really keep hundreds of decks up to date, but I do offer deck feedback as one of the higher tier perks on Patreon.

Never understood people casting spells without playing the land for the turn. With all varieties of counterspells "counter target spell if the opponent doesn't pay 1, 2, 3 or x"
Depends on the matchup, but it's a good habit to give the opponent the least amount of information when they have to make their decisions. Sometimes this allows you to get a weaker spell countered and then resolve a more impactful spell after playing a land for instance.
So damn surprised by those starting hands. Always consistent. Not just bunch of pw, or bunch of mana dorks, or bunch of interaction. Always a mix of all.
