This is the very best version of this song I have ever heard. The emotion in this version is overwhelming and of course John's voice just takes it there.
Welcome to the amazing world of John Farnham!!!! Try to catch more of his live performances (ALWAYS live), you will not be sorry. Listen to a soundtrack accidently recorded when he was doing a sound check of Led Zepplins Black Dog where he literally outsings Robert Plant. He can sing anything. Thank you for appreciating and sharing our all time favourite phenomenal singer/performer John Farnham, with his amazing band as well as the fantastic Melbourne Symphony Orchestra! I was fortunate to attend this similar concert in Brisbane Qld.
I was at this concert. As a singer myself, I shamelessly let John's style influence how I interacted with the crowd. The main thing is his humility. I always thought the best way to connect with a crowd was to do your very best to do be right there with them, enjoying the music itself and not putting yourself on a pedestal. The world will be a much darker place as his voice goes quiet, but oh those memories!
Barnesy & Farnsy & Diesel singing "When Something is Wrong with My Baby" is wonderfully soulful. Must be a live version for the best experience. Thank you.
The best live Farnsey and Barnesy doing When Something is Wrong, with vocals from Johnny Diesel ( Mark Lizotte), is from a live tv variety show.... Hey Hey It’s Saturday.
Thanks heaps mate for reacting to this. John is a legend, he’s a humble man, the way he interacts with the audience, the band, back up singers is second to none. Plus he’s got a killler powerhouse voice, this song was at the end of a gruelling 2-3 hour concert to and he still brought it.

Very true what you said about his microphone, when he sings Angels with his backup singer Lisa Edwards he has his microphone down at chest level so as not to overpower her.
